"We just came back from a week at Tamarind House and can confirm that all that has been said about the place is absolutely true. The house itself is truly unique, lots of wide open spaces and amazing architecture. Built not so long ago, it has a unique old Caribbean feel to it. Large airy rooms make you feel like you are part of the incredible scenery outside. With views overlooking beautiful flowers and trees, the Pitons, the sea, a gorgeous sunset, sitting on the deck at anytime is like watching a giant IMAX nature movie. We particularly enjoyed the pool early in the AM, and at dusk when the light was spectacular. Playing tennis in front of the Pitons is also a special experience. Everything was as advertised, Easy to find and well organized. Shermika the house manager was most helpful. Ann and Cheryl the housekeepers were amazing cooks and took all the stress off any food shopping and cooking. Let them cook away, they know what they're doing. Great beach 5min drive at Anse Chastenet, We used 'Feel Good" Water Taxi, Daniel Abraham (# at the house) will take you to fantastic snorkeling sites at reasonable rates. Also ate at Boucan Chocolate Restaurant and Orlandos in Soufriere, very good, Note, road to house is intimidating at first but you get used to it pretty quickly. Car handy but not really needed. Enjoy Tamarind House."Guest: Baja dude & family Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: November 6, 2014View listing
"We stayed here for 5 days during Christmas and had a wonderful time. The airport transportation was great & we received a mini tour along the way. Once we arrived and throughout our entire stay Janine was very helpful. Thank you! It was great to have a few things in our fridge when we got there because all of the stores were closed on Christmas day. The view was great and the villa was very comfortable. We would return here in the future and recommend to family & friends."Guest: Suzy S. Date of Stay: December 2014 Review Submitted: January 7, 2015View listing
"My boyfriend and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this villa. It is without doubt the best place we have stayed ever. The villa has the most unbelievable, breathtaking views you could imagine. Every morning we woke up, we were once again in awe. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need to cook. There are multiple areas to lounge inside the villa and outside, to take in the picturesque scenes. The pool is absolutely perfect - it is private, surrounded by a garden, and there is enough room to actually swim around in. In regards to location, it is at the very northern tip of the island - Cap Estate/Gros Islet. Rodney Bay is nearby, which has a mall, grocery store, and TONS of restaurants and bars. The northern tip of the island in general has several nearby beaches, all of which are stunningly beautiful and take 5-10 minutes to get to. I would highly suggest renting a car for this villa, it will be more convenient and save you money overall. We took a day trip to Soufriere (about an hour and half each way). You drive down the West Coast, which is very scenic. Amazing view of the rain forest and coast. In Soufriere, we did the Tet Paul Nature Trail (views of the Pitons), Diamond Waterfall + Botantical Garden Walk, and Sulfur Springs + Mud Baths. When we finally got back to our villa that night, it felt like home. The house keeper, Brenda, is also very nice! I highly recommend staying here - we are a young couple but it would be great for a family, and really for anyone of all ages and interests. High remarks for privacy, views, and nearby restaurants and beaches. Wouldn't trade it for anything!"Guest: Kristin Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 22, 2014View listing
"We had an amazing stay at the Sur La Mer house. I think that they describe the property very well, and the staff did an excellent job making sure we had a great time. Starting with John as I dealt with him during the entire booking process was an absolute pleasure, he was very fast with responses, and it was nothing but a great experience booking through him. Luenda was the housekeeper, she was great, I highly recommend taking advantage of her cooking, as her authentic st. lucian meals were better than most restaurants we ate at. They were our favorite meals of the trip. Paul was a great taxi/shuttle service, we originally were going to use a rental car, but once we got there we just decided to relax more instead of constantly being on the go with a rental car. We used Paul's service for the shuttle to and from the airport, which I do recommend as it is a long drive back to the house from UVF airport, and he will stop at the store if needed. The local bus is great, it cost about 60 cents US, and we used it every day to go to Rodney bay, Gros Islet, and North Pigeon Fort island. There is a stop for the local bus right at the bottom of the street for Sur La Mer, so it was convenient. However, just for your awareness it is a beautiful, but hilly walk to and from the main road from the house. We used it as a good exercise, but if you don't like walking I would say to just use the taxi service right to the house. Property: was Amazing, view is exactly as shown in pictures, very private, and as they say "million dollar views" House: very nice, as described, the decks were great to hang out on and relax. I do recommend bug spray as mosquito's can be quite annoying, but to be expected with tropical environments. Recommendations: Have Luenda cook a few meals for you, Curry Chicken was Amazing!; Gros Islet Friday night "jump off" party was a great time, great street vendor food, and I personally liked Castro's bar before the party got started to hang out at; Don't overdo yourself, relax at the house, it is truly a gem; North Pigeon Fort Island was right above Sandals Grande, we hanged out at the beach along there and it was great. The restaurant on North Pig. Fort Island is awesome, very cheap and great food. The short 10-15 minute walk to the top is well worth it, it has AMAZING views; Thanks for everything, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, God Bless and look forward to next time."Guest: Chris S.
