  • Don't Miss This Gem!

"We stayed at La Batterie in October of 2014. The villa itself is beautiful with a wide sweeping view of the bay into Soufriere and the Pitons. The beds are comfortable and large and they all have mosquito netting (which is a must to set up correctly prior to dusk as we learned the hard way!). The villa is very large and open with a nice kitchen outfitted for whatever you might want to cook, a brand new grill and large seating areas. The pool was one of our favorite locations with the great lighting and waterfall adding to all of our evening swims! The road from Soufriere to the villa is very steep and narrow. We used Clavie as our driver rather than rent a vehicle and be concerned about navigating the roads and the left hand drive. Clavie was a wealth of information, very friendly and pointed out things of interest all along the way. Ask him to take you to Fedo's for lunch! The walk to Anse Chastanet beach is a very easy 10 minutes down and and a little longer uphill. Be prepared for the pricing at Anse Chastanet! Any rentals of beach loungers was between $35 to $55 depending on the type. We also hiked up Gros Piton which was amazing, but not for the faint of heart. Be prepared for the sticker shock on this one. You are required to have a guide and it cost us $35 per person to do the hike, not including gratuity to your guide. The staff of La Batterie definitely made our stay amazing. Cynthia cooked for us twice (her Chicken Curry is out of this world) and both her and Marilyn kept the place looking amazing. Cynthia also did shopping for us prior to our arrival, so it was great to arrive, have a fantastic meal from Cynthia and have food for the next few days with no worries! BK, our night watchman, made us feel very safe every evening. Terry, the groundskeeper, watched out for the house during the day and roasted fresh coffee for us! The staff at La Batterie are all very special and they really add to the overall experience here. Michael, the owner, was also an incredible host and resource. He provided our first meal when we arrived as well as a nice gift basket. In addition, his responsiveness and detailed suggestions were a great help as we planned our trip! We would recommend La Batterie to anyone visiting Soufriere without hesitation! Tiffany, Gabe, Emil & Sarah"

  • Great View, Great Cottage, Great Location

"My Girlfriend and I stayed in the cottage for a week in November and had a fantastic time! The cottage resides in a very interesting geological location (collapsed volcano crater) hence, the pitons, amazing topography and views. Don't worry, the volcano has been dormant for some 40,000 years. The cottage is at a high elevation from the sea, and is on the edge of a small interior rainforest (bug spray is good). We spent a couple days just hanging around the cottage, catching some sun, relaxing and found that it had everything we needed. The remaining days were spent enjoying the many activities and sites (waterfalls, mud baths, views, beaches, snorkeling, zipline, hiking, water taxi's, markets). The location of the cottage is within close proximity to all these things. If you enjoy being independent, and having privacy away from other tourists, this spot is for you, it was perfect for us. I would recommend this location to others, but I can't say it's for everyone. There is a maid (Magdelane) and a gardener (Ferrard) who are present, however, on the first day we met the maid and she asked us what we would like in terms of service. We told her that we were fairly independent people and she should come by every other day just to do the basics... On the first day she came into town with us, showed us around Soufriere and where the grocery store, butcher, bakery and bank were. Looking at some of the other reviews I think she will do more for you if that's what you want. We hardly ever saw Ferrard... From our understanding, he does maintain this property and has a garden down the road, and maintains the roadway leading up to the cottage, he left us fresh bread one day. We thought he was pleasant. In hindsight, I would have asked more questions about the maid before heading out to the property to clarify her role upfront, but we got exactly what we wanted, so it didn't matter. I found the island to be safe and the people warm and friendly. St.Lucia has many exciting things to do as well as having the chill factor (island time). We loved it here on the island, and staying at the cottage offered a unique and special experience that not many other travellers get to have when travelling to St. Lucia.. We loved it here and would go back again. Thanks for letting us use the cottage for the week. It was better then we expected!"

  • Great stay in Marigot Bay

"We stayed at the hotel in March. It was a beautiful hotel with a great pool and nice setting on the bay. The hotel was undergoing renovations and I would love to come back when they are done because I'm sure it will be beautiful. We will be back!"

  • Stunningly situated and well appointed property!

"This looked great in the pictures but was in fact even better in real life. Quiet and well situated for either the beach or the shops and restaurants. Wonderful to sit outside on the jetty in the evenings and listen to the tree frogs or on the shaded secluded patio for meals. Linda the maid came in every day, cleaned, washed and generally made the place perfect - always happy to share information on where to go and how to get there. Victoria at Dragonfly couldn't have been more helpful, even providing us with a mobiles to keep in touch with our daughter at another resort. We went on the Endless Summer catamaran trip down to Soufriere and can thoroughly recommend this. Spinnakers Bar on the beach is a great place to watch the sunset while enjoying happy hour. Also liked the Tapas restaurant next to the Steak place opposite Rodney Bay Mall. I would thoroughly recommend 4 Rodney Bay if you want a central but quiet place to stay."
