  • St. Lucia DateHouse Villa

"We had never been to St. Lucia before and we needed a minimum of 2 bedrooms ( 4 people) and a full kitchen for our 1 week stay. We found this rental villa on line and, the pictures were very enticing... and, after talking with the owner, Robert, who was very detailed about location, transportaion, restaurants, nearby beaches etc we decided to book the villa. Once we arrived in St. Lucia on saturday afternoon and had a Taxi bring us from the airport to the villa (approximately 1.25 hour drive) we arrived at this place set on a hill above the carribean sea with spectacular views. The on-line pictures actually do not do justice to this home away from home. The views in every direction are amazing. The housekeeper "Ann Marie" had dinner waiting for us when we arrived (at our request because we were arriving late) and she stayed and showed us around. We could not belive how nice the facility was. Very spacious for 4 or more people (4 bedrooms available) and the pool is where we spent most of our time when we were there. We did rent a car and take some tours of the area (left side driving for those coming from the US). We spent 4 out of the 7 days right at the Villa, using the pool and watching sunsets from both the pool area and the Master Bedroom balcony. Total relaxation!! We also walked to the Calabash cove resort to use the beach facilities and we also went to breakfast and dinner one night. less than 10 minute walk... Ann Marie keeps the place immaculate and you have the flexability to have her there as little or as much as you want during the day. We chose to have her there only 2 out of the 7 days. She was very interesting to talk to since she knows the ins and outs of the area. The villa is very safe (has a security system and a front gate so no one bothers you) and we will difintely go back. It certainly beats the resorts and dealing with many other guests competing for chaises, pool space etc.-- this is a very private place."

  • Simplistic Luxury & Serenity

"Brigand Hill is a wonderful place to stay on this spectacular island. Centrally located on the west coast, the villa provides easy access to a variety of activities all over the island for half or full day trips. It's simple beauty & structure, & impeccably maintained grounds reflect the island itself. It's just enough without being too much. For those who really want to feel immersed in the St. Lucian terrain/climate, it's the perfect place to make your home base. Sitting on a hill above the Anse Galet valley, the villa has surreal views of the rugged topography while providing a glimpse of the Caribbean Sea to its west. The bedroom upstairs in the main building has screened shutters, allowing the constant tradewinds to create a cool & airy environment while you sleep at night or nap during the day. When there's a rainstorm, you can hear it approaching as it comes down the valley & descends upon the house. If you're lucky enough to be sleeping when this happens, this room couldn't be a better place to be. At night, you'll hear the sounds of the rainforest take over, & it's like falling asleep on a perfect summer night. Add a bag of ice to the grocery list so you don't run out using the blender :) George, the caretaker, is extremely knowledgeable on anything/everything St. Lucia-related. Happy to answer all your questions to guide you in the right direction when making plans, he'll even accompany you on an excursion! He came with us on our Gros Piton hike & barely even broke a sweat! A jack of all trades, he's eager to share his passion for the island. Vera is a love & happily and graciously keeps the house in order during your stay so you don't have to. I'm pretty particular about other people doing my laundry, but she took scrupulous care of my clothes. She even had flowers on the bedspread upstairs upon our arrival - so romantic. Bertilla is a super sweet, talented cook & prepared some really great meals for us. She'll make you anything but I suggest you request some local dishes like christophene casserole, chicken curry, rice & beans, or pumpkin soup - all delish! She set a lovely table every night outside by the pool, specially folded napkins included. This crew left no detail unnoticed and their hard work revealed itself in my experience at the villa. They added elements of ease and welcoming grace to the trip which made the island as a whole even more special. I can't wait to go back to St. Lucia, and I'll definitely be staying at Brigand Hill."

  • Absolutely Awesome

"Peace and tranquility embrace you at the Green Heart! The ever present ocean breeze, with surprisingly low humidity, envelopes you while the awesome views of the ocean and natural landscape surround you from the spacious decks on all three levels. Each unit is designed with a very functional layout, with all the essentials to satisfy your day to day needs. Your personable and dedicated staff made each moment a joy throughout our stay. A sincere thanks to Theresa for keeping the Villa sparkling clean and to Martin, for his focus and daily effort in maintaining and developing the various fruit & vegetable gardens and filling the property with beautiful natural plants and flowers to be enjoyed year round. I've got to say "Hey Boss, your freshly prepared coconut milk special morning pick-me-ups were definitely a treat and appreciated every day :) Hugs and kisses to our friends Bernie & Carol who ensured all our desires were fulfilled and that “Every Little Ting” was Alright! It was really nice meeting you Ken, sorry we missed you Diane. But, this was such an incredible vacation, I know we will be back soon to spend time with you both and enjoy St Lucia from your eyes - not to mention being able to visit with all the beautiful people we met there this time. If you want to feel the real St Lucia, you need to experience it from this kind of environment - where you have the opportunity to meet new friends who are happy to share their island and life style."
