"Just returned from 10 wonderful days at this property. After a long flight from the UK via Toronto and Grand Cayman we arrived at Cayman Brac airport, ready for a relaxing holiday with great snorkelling. This property and the island delivered on both. Having stayed in dozens of places across the world, this is one of the closest we have had to the sea, which also gives you privacy and great views across the water to Little Cayman. We had wonderful weather everyday, with mainly calm seas, so were in and out of the water all day. Although we checked out Radar Reef (nice nurse shark) and the public beach (nice sand with some waves), the snorkelling by the Barcadere was the best. Easy entry via the ladder, then off you go in any direction. We spent hours drifting all the way down the coast to the western end of the island, where you can then exit where the sand is and walk back.So much marine life of all sizes and colours; turtle, southern sting ray, yellow ray, small spotted eel, full range of fish including porcupine, trunk, trumpet, cow fish, all sizes of sea fans, lots of coral etc, etc. do take a torch and check out the rock pools by the house at night, you will see some amazing stuff and look at the stars!
The house has everything you need and plenty of space in the large living room, the outside terrace and upstairs balcony, for sitting and looking at the views. The outside shower is really useful for rinsing off. Having the car provided was really helpful. We drove out to the lighthouse for a walk on the bluff and saw some young Boobies, and drove around the rest of the island to check it out. The small supermarkets are well stocked. We checked out the pioneer Bakery (nice cinammon buns), Barry's Jerk Chicken three times (do try the pork if he has cooked some, it was yummy), PoPos pizza by the airport, Star Island (good value local food), Captains Table (nice ribs) and Tipsy Turtle at the Brac Resort (nice sandy beach and hammocks).
The whole vibe on the island is relaxed and friendly and we truly had the most chilled holiday we can remember, but still feeling active with all the snorkelling. There were very few other people at any of the places we went to, so you you have the place and the sea to yourself. It's a world away from Grand Cayman.
Two local cats made the house their home for our ten days, including the black and white one mentioned in another review, enjoying the treats we gave them, so hope that continues.
Next trip being planned!"
