"Avalon By The Sea is home away from home. Only in this home, you get the two most delicious beaches on the planet directly across the street, and just a short walk along a well-groomed trail. Oh, but first you have to walk the 22 steps to the gate through a tastefully manicured tropical garden, complete with scores of hummingbirds, geckos, and yellow warblers. We stayed in the downstairs, with its own wrap around terrace and open-air rooms. We love to prepare food at home and after a shopping expedition in town, we found the kitchen to have all we needed. I had forgotten to check the voltage/current on the island prior to leaving and was happy to see both European and American standards easily accessible. Internet, cable TV/radio, local phone, a fine stereo system, ample closet space, a safe, security system, a booklet with all the info you need by the phone… these folks really put a lot of thought into the guest’s experience in the house. The housekeeper is lovely, the neighbors welcoming and respectful, and the local fisherman blow a conch shell outside when they bring in a fresh catch. Well worth getting up early for… Bequia is my favorite place on Earth and this little gem of a home makes for a perfect base from which to enjoy it."Guest: Harksongs Date of Stay: July 2012 Review Submitted: August 7, 2012View listing
"My husband and I have spent the past few Februarys in this home. The property is well cared for and has everything we need. It's located just a few minutes walk to the best beaches in Bequia (and most of the Caribbean). The owner, Maggie, is very kind and keeps us supplied with all the fruits from the trees on the property (mangoes, grapefruit, limes and even baby bananas!) and keeps the property spotless! If there is anything we need, Maggie is there! We especially love spending time on the lanai and just taking in the Million Dollar View of the yachts and pleasure boats in the harbor. Just so relaxing and peaceful...our troubles melt away! We look forward every year to going back to our "home" at "Low" Bay."Guest: 2Geez Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: June 27, 2014View listing
"We had an amazing stay at Park Bay House. Having stayed at houses overlooking the water at several different Caribbean islands we were looking for something different and we definitely found it at Park Bay. The house is as advertised, maybe better. It's as close to the water as the pictures indicate, with unbelievable views and the constant sounds of the waves giving it a unique advantage over most properties. We found that "being off the grid" wasn't a bad thing. The ocean breezes blowing trough the house and across the deck kept us comfortable night and day and bugs were not a problem. I was even able to see some great stuff snorkeling right off the property, including lobsters, an eel, octopus, flounder, and a giant crab. The owners were great when responding to any questions or issues we had, always getting back to us in a prompt and friendly manner. The staff was very accommodating as well. The welcome dinner, ride to the house from the ferry dock, help with a rental car, and daily housekeeping service all helped to make the long trip there worth it. The house is only a few minutes from town but it feels like your the only one on the island. Even though Bequia has several good restaurants and beaches we were reluctant to leave the house. I would recommend Park Bay house to anyone looking for a memorable stay at a beautiful Caribbean island."Guest: CE Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: June 6, 2014View listing
"We, 3 European girls, had a holiday of a lifetime during our stay in Casa Rosaline Beach House in Bequia over NewYear’s. The house is fully equipped for a comfortable stay with 3-4 adults. The 2 bedrooms have AC; there are 2 bathrooms (1 with hot water); and the kitchen has all expected equipment and a big fridge. Our favorite spot of the house was without a doubt the fully furnished outside deck area, looking out over the bay. As for the area, situated towards the end of Lower Bay, that part of the beach is quiet and hardly disturbed. The local kids are often out and about playing around in the sand and water; and there are some beach bars around for an easygoing breakfast, lunch, dinner or just drinks. A trip into town is a short pick up taxi ride away (or a 30 min walk) for groceries or going out in the evening. Starting from our enquiries, Edith (the owner) was very helpful and responsive to all our requests; even ensuring a smooth arrival from St Vincent all the way to the house. A cleaning lady came by twice during our stay, every time leaving us with a nice and tidied house and a fresh supply of towels. Casa Rosaline Beach House is the perfect place for an uncomplicated holiday getaway with family or friends. Expect to relax to the fullest and enjoy life in island-style."Guest: The Girls Date of Stay: December 2012 Review Submitted: January 28, 2013View listing
St. Vincent & the Grenadines Travel Tips
Visitors to St. Vincent Vacation Rentals
St. Vincent is part of a group of islands known as the Grenadines. The island is located in the Caribbean Sea, approximately 100 miles west of the island of Barbados and between Grenada and Saint Lucia. It is one of the lesser-known vacation destinations in the Caribbean and attracts those who are looking for a quieter beach vacation where they can enjoy the natural surroundings of the island and take part in a range of water sport activities at leisure. Many visitors are scuba diving enthusiasts who come to explore the beautiful coral reefs.
Stylish Paradise at St. Vincent Villas
When you arrive at your St. Vincent villa, it is likely that you will be greeted with a friendly smile and a quick orientation of your home. Once you have settled in, you can admire the awesome views out over the bay. Many of the vacation homes on St. Vincent are located on the beachfront or just up on the hillside so you can appreciate the beautiful island surroundings. The homes vary in size and style from quaint cottages to stylish modern villas. Living areas generally open up onto an outdoor deck where you can enjoy meals and socialize. Most homes have televisions and entertainment centers. The kitchens are functional with a host of modern appliances to make vacation catering easy. Often the bedrooms will also lead out onto private decks so you can enjoy breakfast on the patio if you so choose.
Best Time of Year St. Vincent Resort Rentals
If you are looking to escape the colder winter weather from your hometown in the United States or Canada, look to the tropical paradise of St. Vincent. The best time of year to travel here is in the northern hemisphere's winter months which run from December to April. The days are still nice and sunny, and the humidity is also much less than during the summer months. In general, there is little seasonal temperature difference; rather it is the humidity that makes it feel hotter. Rainfall occurs throughout the year but is most frequent in the summer months which run from June to October. Occasional tropical storms can blow through and these occur most often in August and September. Aside from this time of year, St. Vincent has ideal weather for a year-round vacation.
Attractions at Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Vincent
St. Vincent is unique in that it is one of the few Caribbean islands to have both black and white sand beaches. Because it is a volcanic island, the vast majority of the beaches are black sand. The landscape of the island is dominated by the active volcano of La Soufriere which last erupted in 1979. Prior to that, it had two previous recorded eruptions in 1812 and 1902. If you want to explore the island's interior, you can join up with a rainforest eco-tour. The knowledgeable local guides will take you on a journey that will highlight the island's geological history and stunning fauna and flora.
Some of the island's main attractions are the many water sport activities that are available. The island is surrounded by colorful tropical reefs which are ideal for scuba diving. Some are also shallow enough to enjoy just via snorkeling. Because of the consistent trade winds, St. Vincent is a popular sailing destination. At the local marina, you can inquire about yacht charters. There are many skippers who will gladly take you out for a day cruise on the ocean. You can drop anchor near one of the secluded coves and swim ashore to enjoy a picnic.
