  • Superb Location

"We enjoyed this unit for the month of Jan 2014. While very cold that month for FL, we found plenty to keep us occupied. This unit is in a superb location for viewing the bay or the gulf. It was well represented on the website, and the owner couldn't have been more accommodating. The on-site management, however, was a problem at first since upon arrival we discovered this unit was still occupied. It took a day to get the mess sorted out. This was NOT the owner's fault. I recommend calling Runaway early on the day of your arrival to make sure your unit is ready; and call early on Saturdays. Once established in the unit, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The egrets and herons on the site are very friendly, sometimes too friendly. Don't leave your lanai door open! The views of the lake and the fountain are so relaxing. The cable system is bare-bones basic, so I'd recommend getting Bright House Network to upgrade when you get there. They will do it if you're there for a month. We would highly recommend this unit to anyone, and we hope to get back there ASAP. The owner, Carol, couldn't have been nicer and was very professional in our negotiations. Great area for all activities; we enjoyed too many to list here. Try the free trolley system too. You'll find it much easier to get around, especially during the busy winter months."

  • Perfect little chalet

"This cabin was just perfect for me, my husband and sister. Everything was all ready and clean when we got there. The house has a great view and is far enough from town to feel like your secluded, but close enough really to all the fun of Gatlinburg. Overall a great cabin for our trip, and for anyone looking for a cozy spot on the mountain."

  • Truly Amazing!

"We just stayed here with our two children for about 5 days. Everything about this home/property is perfect. The area is just peaceful. You are able to pick anything that you want from the Organic Garden. We all loved the blackberry Popsicles too! The Avenue of the Giants is just a few steps away and you are into the Redwoods. There are nice short, flat trails and fallen trees for the kids to climb on. The home itself is beautiful and so clean. We felt like we were at home. The hot tub is also such a treat. Mel and Holly were so incredibly hospitable and nice to chat with. They made sure that we were comfortable and that the kids had everything they needed for their daily bad mitten games. I was truly sad to leave. It is a refreshing time experiencing a different way of life. It is a ways from Trees of Mystery and some of the "touristy" things, but anything that we saw up in this area, far surpassed the tourist stop. You can stay here and take in the Redwoods in their natural setting. Also good bird watching. Woodpeckers, Quail, Hummingbirds, etc. Two little bunnies would come and eat each morning and evening at the edge of the property. Thanks so much Mel and Holly for a trip that we will never forget. We will be back!"

  • Last and best stop of our honeymoon

"The Zen Treehouse is unreal, it's even bigger than the photos make it look. The kitchen is huge, the bathroom is huge and beautiful, the shower is AMAZING! We were so happy we decided to splurge on this for the last week of our honeymoon. Waimanalo beach is the best beach in Oahu as far as I'm concerned. It's quiet, calm and you can walk for hours along it! The tree house is only cooled by fans but there are extra's in the closet. Heat sensitive seniors may want to beware, but we were fine with the fans."
