"It was truly a wonderful time that Mike and I had at the Hollywood Beach Suites.
The friendly people of locals and part timers, we all made us feel welcome.
The long walks on the beach was energizing, and the warm sun, rain and gentle tradewinds, was a complete package.
We were truly taken care of, with the property and from Alveda.
We shall always remember this place, and to return again."

"This was my second trip to North Caicos. We loved the area so much that we returned with our friends so they could experience the total bliss of this lovely island. We were met at the ferry my Mac who was very helpful in getting us a rental vehicle for a few days. The cottage itself is in a lovely spot. Close enough that we walked most places that we visited. It was clean and functional. There is one bathroom upstairs and the other is downstairs. You have to go outside to reach the downstairs. Which in the lovely climate is not really an issue. The structure is well laid out with a veranda that runs around the outside. Looking out at the gorgeous water is one of the most serene things ever. I found that the cottage itself needs some attention. There were missing light bulbs in all rooms, dishes and glassware really needs attention, 3 water glasses and they were all so chipped that it would be difficult to take a drink with out cutting your lip. The downstairs has a bedroom but there is an air mattress on the frame. Linens and towels were very clean . Most of the blinds were broken . I liked the place very much but we were quite disappointed in the state of dishes. Beds that were rather hard and not attached to headboards. We have used vrbo rentals for many holidays and although the setting was fantastic the property itself needs some attention."

"We rented this house for a week and had a fantastic time. We were celebrating a special birthday for my wife and planned a surprise getaway with our three adult kids (and grandchild). Fortunately for us, the houses on either side of us were empty for the week so we had 3 miles of white sandy beach to ourselves. Walks in the morning with our coffee looking to see what washed up on the beach, snorkeling around the reef or casting a fishing rod during the day and just relaxing by the pool in the evening provided the perfect setting. Spectacular sun rises and sunsets along with star gazing later in the evening were reasons to jump up in the morning and stay up most of the night.
We had a chance to stop at a couple of the local restaurants and the food was surprisingly good. Calling ahead was given new meaning when we found out that you actually had to call the restaurants by noon and order your meal then. It was well worth it, the food was great. We even had a night of pizza where one of the locals "went off" menu and made about 8 pizzas for us.
The majority of us never left the property. When we did, we either left for dining out a couple nights or replenishing the spirit waters that seemed to flow amply throughout the day. Grocery stores were nearby and we became a bit of a spectacle when we left with 3 shopping carts full of food the first day.
The only issue for the week was the "no - see 'ims" which Kevin and Holton warned us about. They are these little tiny fleas (thus the name) and the pack a pretty good bite - somewhat like a mosquito bite. We were all fine until around Wednesday evening when they came out. We found the best remedy was to drink more alcohol...
As some of the other reviews mentioned, if you are looking for tranquility and privacy, this is the place."

"My wife and I stayed at Emerald Estate for the March Break. We had visited the island before so we were prepared for the logistics of getting there with groceries, ferry schedule, car rental, etc. and Alpheus was helpful in this planning. The house Was all that we had hoped for. The ocean was mere steps from the porch, a sandy beach was a short stroll down the coast and the reef off the coast meant the waves were not overpowering. The house was reached by driving a private road with only a handful of homes within roof sight so it felt very private and secluded. the house had ac but we did not use it as there was a cooling east breeze everyday. The house included plenty of bed linens, bath towels and beach towels and a washer and dryer if needed. There was lots of hot water in the shower and bathroom but it took a long time for warm water to reach the kitchen sink. We ate most meals at the house and ther were lots of dishes, pots, pans and appliances. We brought some food from home, bought most meat and produce in Provo and used the North Caicos stores for bread, milk, ice and eggs. The pantry was empty, not even salt, pepper or sugar, so come prepared.
We used the house as a base to explore the islands We rented a SUV and drove all over with no difficulty. We went to Middle Caicos Conch Bar Caves, Mudjin Harbour and many beaches. We spotted whales off Pumpkin Bluff, walked miles of deserted beaches, visited the plantation ruins and swam in the ocean every day.
Alpheus kindly had a phone we could use and also checked in with us several times to see if he could help with anything. The Internet connection worked well.
Our week was spent enjoying the ocean, islands, friendly people and all from a well equipped (and situated) house. Thank you Alpheus for giving us a great week."
