"we came down during the off-season. mac (the caretaker) met us at the ferry, and took us to the house. we walked up, and were amazed by the beach, literally, steps away from the house. mac showed us around, and told us how everything worked. we had all the things we needed at the house to help make our stay enjoyable. the kitchen was stocked with all the utensils we would need. everything was in working order.
since it was the off-season, the weather was hot and humid, but, the air conditioners in the bedrooms were a life-saver.
there were ample amounts of towels and bedding for our stay.
even though we were there during a hurricane......mac made sure we were safe at all times. watching the storm from the veranda was just awesome!! the storm came in a couple days after we got there, so we had lots of time to swim, and walk the beautiful beach.
we were told that during our stay, there would not be many people around (which was just what we wanted!!), and there were not many people around at all!! it made for a nice, romantic getaway for my wife and me.
the locals in the area are just so nice! more than willing to help and answer any questions.
even with the storm, we had a wonderful time!! and the beach? all we can say is 'wow'!! beautiful!!!
if you are looking to get away from the world....this place is a great escape!!"

"We rented this house for a week and had a fantastic time. We were celebrating a special birthday for my wife and planned a surprise getaway with our three adult kids (and grandchild). Fortunately for us, the houses on either side of us were empty for the week so we had 3 miles of white sandy beach to ourselves. Walks in the morning with our coffee looking to see what washed up on the beach, snorkeling around the reef or casting a fishing rod during the day and just relaxing by the pool in the evening provided the perfect setting. Spectacular sun rises and sunsets along with star gazing later in the evening were reasons to jump up in the morning and stay up most of the night.
We had a chance to stop at a couple of the local restaurants and the food was surprisingly good. Calling ahead was given new meaning when we found out that you actually had to call the restaurants by noon and order your meal then. It was well worth it, the food was great. We even had a night of pizza where one of the locals "went off" menu and made about 8 pizzas for us.
The majority of us never left the property. When we did, we either left for dining out a couple nights or replenishing the spirit waters that seemed to flow amply throughout the day. Grocery stores were nearby and we became a bit of a spectacle when we left with 3 shopping carts full of food the first day.
The only issue for the week was the "no - see 'ims" which Kevin and Holton warned us about. They are these little tiny fleas (thus the name) and the pack a pretty good bite - somewhat like a mosquito bite. We were all fine until around Wednesday evening when they came out. We found the best remedy was to drink more alcohol...
As some of the other reviews mentioned, if you are looking for tranquility and privacy, this is the place."

"My family and I stayed at Emerald Estate for our summer vacation and we could not be more pleased with the accomodations! Alpheus met us at the dock along with our car rental, which he recommended and escorted us back to this impressive house. Upon arrival, he gave us the lay of land and even gave us a cell phone to use on the island. The house is well appointed with all the essentials, super clean and very comfortable. The house sits on the point, so you feel like you are on your own private island! The view of the water from the house is gorgeous and even more impressive from the upstairs patio. Grab a cocktail and take in the sunset and tranquail scenery...ahhhh...paradise!
The island itself is very quiet as well as Middle Caicos. It's not like being on a cookie cutter tropical resort. These islands are made to explore and to create your own adventure, which is exactly what we were looking for. The locals are fabulous and if you get a chance, stop by Miss B's for great food and hospitality- love her and her sister Dorothy! They even have books for you to borrow at your leisure. Visit Nat for fresh fish and Sasha at the Aquatic for her great snapper dish. Last Chance Bar & Grille in Bottlecreek has a great view and food to boot! Also, swing by the Barracuda Beach Bar for drinks in the evening and hang out with some of the locals.
I do recommend getting most of your groceries from Provo and odds/ends from the local markets. This ensures that you will be well equipped for the duration of your stay.
So, if you are thinking about renting from Alpheus, do not hesitate! You will not be dissapointed. We truly had a wonderful time at Emerald Estates....we are looking forward to coming back!"

"It was truly a wonderful time that Mike and I had at the Hollywood Beach Suites.
The friendly people of locals and part timers, we all made us feel welcome.
The long walks on the beach was energizing, and the warm sun, rain and gentle tradewinds, was a complete package.
We were truly taken care of, with the property and from Alveda.
We shall always remember this place, and to return again."
