  • The best view on a most beautiful beach

"The condo itself is beautiful and the view unbelievable. Leanne and Jaya are great to work with and very responsive to requests and questions, including making dinner reservations. When we arrived Jamy was wonderful to work with and he made sure we had everything we needed, including taking us to get lobster tails and making sure we got a good deal. The condo was very clean, something Jamy takes pride in. We cooked in 3 nights using the grill. We enjoyed some of the restaurants for dinner and lunch and also enjoyed the Fish Fry, do get there by 5:30 for seats. Being right in front of the reef is wonderful and we enjoyed swimming around it everyday when the water was calm. Please do respect the red flags, enough said. That brings me to the beach. The chairs are comfortable and in great shape. The beach attendants are a pleasure and must be commended for the work they do keeping people from swimming inside the reef. Believe me they have a difficult job and they do it well. We had beautiful days and most people were on the beach, I hardly saw anyone in the pools. We also enjoyed being so close to Somewhere, we got drinks from there a few times and enjoyed the music at night from the condo, it was never late. I do have to say a few negatives. While the furniture is beautiful and well maintained, much of it is not comfortable. The deck lounges and living room furniture are not comfortable at all to sit in. The loungers need something, and the couch cushions are too thin it feels like you are sitting with a bar along your bottom. We were there at the same time as woodland gardner and we all had the same feelings. It really was a shame because the living room and the deck are so beautiful and relaxing and all you really want to do is enjoy them. We spent most of our time sitting in the chairs at the deck table. I also think some of the kitchen utensils could be updated and our refrigerator leaked inside and we kept a bowl to collect the water. We did find the bed comfortable. We also loved the sliding doors open during the day hearing the ocean and feeling the breeze. The air conditioner cooled the condo at night, we were able to shut it off one cool evening and opening the doors. Coral Gardens needs to add a few more water toys for people to use. I noticed some newer items at other resorts. The Developers Condos are beautiful and deserve a little more attention to make them as special as they can be. Turks and Caicos and Grace Bay is a must visit place."

  • Great place - beware of construction though.

"My husband, 2 other married couples and two other siblings stayed at Bella Sur Mer for a week. The location is right on the beach and you have your own little private pool that has great seating in the shade if you need it. The caretaker came once during our stay to clean which is really nice. Each room has it's own new A/C unit that worked perfectly. The kitchen is stocked with all the tools you need to cook if thats what you plan to do for meals. Lots of seating for everyone if you want to relax in the house too. The snorkeling is the best! The reef directly in front of the house was great; saw huge grouper, huge lobster, starfish and lots of other fish, big and small. If you walk out to the beach and take a left, walk down about 1/2 mile (where the white stair case is at another house) there's another phenomenal reef, about 40 feet deep, we saw huge sea turtles, enormous eagle rays, large sting rays, large barracuda and many other species of fish in all shapes, sizes and colors! No need to waste money on snorkeling cruises, the best is right out your back door!! Its very windy on this side of the island so the ocean is very choppy and made it tiresome to swim through all the time, but it is well worth it and great exercise. The one negative is that there are some local boaters who disregard the boat channel markers and drive right through the reef at full speed (they come from the marina and head east to the resorts to take people tubing, etc.) so that was worrisome at times. Also, be aware, that there is construction still going on right next door. An earlier review stated this back in August of 2013 and I had figured by now it would have been finished. Not so. There is the main house and two smaller homes, maybe a third being constructed at this site. There was the usual jackhammer, sawing, pounding etc. sounds that was not fun to hear while trying to relax. They start at 7:30 and usually done by the end of the day, they also work weekends. I'm guessing its taking so long because the construction workers are on "island time." From the looks of it, could be another year and half or so before the construction is done. Another thing was our water was shut off without notice. I called the caretaker, who called the water company, who said it would be on in an hour; I'm guessing, again, that was "island time" because it didn't come back on until 6 hours later. Other than those things, the location is great and it was affordable."

  • Everything we needed

"As most reviewers have said, the Reef Residences provide a vacation option that is mid placed between a condo and a fuller service hotel. We had a one bedroom second floor unit, and were impressed with the quality of the construction, space, appliances and furniture. It is not the "done on the cheap" condo that you can run into in holiday destinations. The guest service office is open through the day and we had every question and request dealt with quickly. Everyone we came in contact with at the Reef Residences and during the reservation process was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. We had massages and used the fitness room. We had no problem getting a beach chair at any time. The beach is just a few minutes walk, and the reef is excellent for snorkeling. You are walking distance from the Thursday night fish fry which is a must. As others have noted, JoJo's and Somewhere Cafe are close by. A car is pretty well needed but driving is easy on the island. IGA and the main tourist area in Grace Bay are just a few minutes away. The only thing that keeps us from a 5 star review is the size of the pool and deck, it was no problem during much of the day but as a family friendly property it did get a little crowded with kids having their pre supper swim. But not a real problem, just a matter of picking your time for a swim. We will have no problem recommending the Reef to any friends heading down to TCI, and would certainly stay again ourselves."
