"We absolutely loved our stay in this unit. This was our 4th trip to Provo in 2 years and our 3rd stay at the Regent Grand. It is a beautiful property in an ideal location on Grace Bay beach. It is also in a great location for close proximity to restaurants and shops. The property and pool are immaculate. I personally think it's the nicest pool of all the GB properties. The staff are wonderful. We find it to be a little more quiet than the other properties so it is ideal for couples or families. The unit is beautifully decorated, spacious and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The balcony/terrace is large and has a fantastic view of Grace Bay. The owners were easy to deal with and extremely helpful with providing information and answering questions. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this unit again. We had a fantastic vacation and can't wait to return."Guest: Ali S Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: June 15, 2014View listing
"My husband and I stayed at Villa Tropidero as we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We LOVE Turks and Caicos and after vacationing and working in TCI over the last 15 or so years, we decided to try something different! Typically we've stayed on Grace Bay and a couple of times on North Caicos~ but for this special occasion we decided that we'd try a place with more privacy...a bit off the beaten path...and a place to hopefully recharge and reconnect - both with each-other and with the true natural beauty of the islands! Villa Tropidero DELIVERED! From the moment we touched down...everything was perfect and done with ease! The manager met us at the airport, where we picked up our car, (that was arranged by the owner) and led us to the home to our paradise for the week! The home and the property were perfect! The natural landscape and colors were soothing and calming but at the same time AWOKE the senses! The master bedroom was dreamy! Gorgeous views! Romantic decor! and a wonderful, private deck! The living area of the home was very comfortable and it was great having a fully stocked kitchen and grill to cook some of our meals when we didn't feel like going anywhere. When we DID head out on the island...the feeling of coming "home" to Villa Tropidero was so satisfying! The water of the Turtle Tail section of the island was wonderful! It was the perfect place to cool off, frolic in, swim and paddle through- as well as just LOOK at and TAKE IN the beauty!! The kayaks were a great addition to the home and many times we would jump in and kayak to the cays that were right outside our "door" and do a little exploring and get some exercise! The water was shallow enough to even walk to the cays! During our week stay....I can't tell you how many times we said "I'm so happy we chose this." We could have stayed on Grace Bay...with the crowds....But honestly I don't think we EVER will again! This home was perfect for a couple- but we are planning on returning with a group of friends or our family of 6 (when our children saw and heard about how wonderful it is they were VERY JEALOUS!).....or maybe if we get lucky again....we can escape JUST THE TWO OF US! Thank you to the Owners, Pamela & Kurt, for sharing your piece of paradise! Maybe someday we can be neighbors there ;)"Guest: TCI=HAPPY Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: May 15, 2014View listing
"Second time staying at the studio and it was superb, even better than we remembered from several years ago! We had a car, but would consider going without the next time as so much is offered at the Alexandra, and also excursions are from the beach and at the front desk, and other restaurants are walkable along the beach. We had dinner on the beach twice at the Mango Reef restaurant, truly a magical experience! They also have a free shuttle to the market on certain days, so you can easily get some supplies. Can't wait to go again! Beautiful studio, beach and wondefful staff!"Guest: Tom and Donna Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: May 5, 2014View listing
"We visited Providenciales based on travel site reviews. Grace Bay beach is so much more than what has been written about it. The water is crystal clear, perfect temp and offers an abundance of snorkeling. We snorkeled 3-4 times a day and continually observed different aquatic life. The residences are like haciendas; quaint, comfortable and very accommodating. We rented 2 units (there were 9 of us for a bit) for the week and both were more than sufficient. The cleaning staff were sweet and very efficient. We so appreciated Nuwan and Verne. They supplied us with Rum Punch throughout the day, suggestions as to activities and also made reservations for us. Definitely visit Grace Bay and stay at the Reef Residences."Guest: J6ers Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: March 22, 2014View listing
Providenciales Travel Tips
Providenciales Vacation Rentals on 38 Square Miles of Bliss
Getting to Providenciales vacation rentals could not be easier. The island is home to the region’s only international airport. While it is the major resort area of the Turks and Caicos Islands, it is just 38 square miles. But those 38 square miles are a vacation paradise! Once you arrive for your Providenciales travel, venture to between the islands to discover each island’s unique characteristics. With a base in Providenciales, there are plenty of opportunities to take day trips out to explore the rest of this stunningly beautiful and tranquil area. It is close in distance to many major U.S. destinations, making it an ideal vacation for Americans. Temperatures here are constant throughout the year with averages between the 70s and 80s Fahrenheit, with little humidity and rain. Although the islands are British territory, the currency is the U.S. dollar.
As recently as the 1960s, there were no cars on the islands. Now, visitors can hire a 4x4 Jeep to make exploring all those out-of-the-way places easy. Another great option is to use the Gecko Shuttle, operating from Grace Bay. Be sure to buy your token before you board.
Stay at Providenciales Villas on the Beaches and Discover Paradise
Provo, as it is called locally, is the most developed of the islands, with resorts, golf courses and casinos. When asked, many visitors say they come for the pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. The beaches are beautiful but there is much more to Provo that that! Such as the unique Caicos Banks, an undersea pillar that comes from the depths of the ocean to within 30 to 50 feet of the surface. This bank provides safe inshore waters, just perfect for snorkeling, swimming and boating. Outside of the bank is a treacherous reef notorious for wrecking ships which makes for great diving and deep sea fishing.
There are a few tips to be aware of when hitting the beaches here. All the beaches are free and public, including those by hotels and private homes. Most of the coastline is part of the national park, and fishing is not allowed from the beach. There are a huge variety of watersports for visitors, including jet skiing, jet boating, skiff boating, kayaking, glass-bottom boat trips, parasailing, banana boats, semi-submarine trips, kiteboarding, and windsurfing. If you're ready to try something more than snorkeling but not quite ready to try diving, try snuba!
Meet the World’s Only Performing Conch!
For the days when the beach doesn’t beckon, there are golf and miniature golf, horseback riding, tennis, bicycling, jogging and soccer; you can also wander the miles of beach searching for shells and driftwood. Beach-combing can be one of the most delightful ways to spend a leisurely morning at Northwest Point. Here, the pounding surf brings new treasures with every wave. Then, of course, there are a variety of sights and attractions scattered around Provo. Try a visit to the Cheshire Hall Plantation Ruins, explore the spectacular caves and rock carvings at Sapodilla Hill and West Harbor Bluff, and sample the local beer with a visit to Turks Head Microbrewery and the world’s only conch farm at Caicos Conch Farm. Make sure to see the live show featuring some trained conchs!
