"My wife and I just spend a 5 night weekend getaway at the Sun Villa. It was our 2nd visit to the Turks and were so happy we discovered this property. The grounds were beautiful. The house was bigger then we needed and it was clean & bright. The pool was spotless as was the entire house & yard. The golf card was an added bonus as we would drive quietly to the beach each morning with coffee cup in hand to watch the sunrise in beautiful Long Bay. We are not much on recommending anything to anyone as you often can be dissapointed and misled but this place met all of our expectations and more. If you want a great deal on an expensive island, stay hear. You will not be dissapointed."Guest: Robert P. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 4, 2014View listing
"This is the perfect beach condo! Entry level with easy access to the most amazing beach on the planet! Great for families or couples. Although the manager is off-site he is in constant communication and ready to help at a moment's notice. Fantastic scuba diving, kite boarding/surfing on windy days and a truly spectacular beach for long walks. Bring a camera for family photos that you will cherish for years to come!"Guest: Laura and Steven F. Date of Stay: December 2014 Review Submitted: January 6, 2015View listing
"My husband and I stayed 10 nights in this wonderful privately owned unit. I can only say that this unit is wonderful. It has everything that you would need. We also had a small problem, and Val from the management company handled it immediately. I am extremely picky when it comes to certain properties, and this unit worked out wonderfully for us. This was not our first time to Turks! But our first time at Bobs unit, and I am sure it won't be our last. One small issue was the mattress, both of us would awake with lower back issues. I might also add that the reason I am so picky is that I am a travel agent, and in years past, not anymore, have been spoiled with superb accommodations. I can highly recommend this unit to anyone, or maybe I shouldn't, as when I want it, it might be rented.......... Thanks again"Guest: Travel sweet Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: November 11, 2014View listing
"We loved it. What a great place. Larger than the pictures show and nicely updated. It has every thing we needed for our trip. Great bedrooms, large enough kitchen with about everything you need. Eating areas inside and out. Security system to make you feel safe (truly we always felt safe everywhere we went on these great islands). A pool. TV area with way more channels and movies than we needed. The property manager was great. Met us at the airport and brought us to the villa. Showed us everything we needed and let us be. We are a family of four with a 10 & 12 year old girl and boy. We had more than enough space and felt very at home here. The pool was great for our lazy days and the beach about 2 short blocks away was fabulous. In the villa there was a binder with directions to many beaches and brief write ups on many restaurants. The islands themselves are truly amazing. If you are looking for perfect weather and the best beaches then this is the place. Did I mention Ramona? The villa owner is a wealth of knowledge on TCI and very willing to share all she knows with you. If you email her she will answer, and very promptly too. I have nothing bad to say about this villa, every thing was better than we expected. I would recommend it to friends, family and others and will defenately stay here again. Thank you Ramona for your part in our perfect vacation."Guest: Cold Canadian Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: November 16, 2014View listing
Providenciales Travel Tips
Providenciales Vacation Rentals on 38 Square Miles of Bliss
Getting to Providenciales vacation rentals could not be easier. The island is home to the region’s only international airport. While it is the major resort area of the Turks and Caicos Islands, it is just 38 square miles. But those 38 square miles are a vacation paradise! Once you arrive for your Providenciales travel, venture to between the islands to discover each island’s unique characteristics. With a base in Providenciales, there are plenty of opportunities to take day trips out to explore the rest of this stunningly beautiful and tranquil area. It is close in distance to many major U.S. destinations, making it an ideal vacation for Americans. Temperatures here are constant throughout the year with averages between the 70s and 80s Fahrenheit, with little humidity and rain. Although the islands are British territory, the currency is the U.S. dollar.
As recently as the 1960s, there were no cars on the islands. Now, visitors can hire a 4x4 Jeep to make exploring all those out-of-the-way places easy. Another great option is to use the Gecko Shuttle, operating from Grace Bay. Be sure to buy your token before you board.
Stay at Providenciales Villas on the Beaches and Discover Paradise
Provo, as it is called locally, is the most developed of the islands, with resorts, golf courses and casinos. When asked, many visitors say they come for the pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. The beaches are beautiful but there is much more to Provo that that! Such as the unique Caicos Banks, an undersea pillar that comes from the depths of the ocean to within 30 to 50 feet of the surface. This bank provides safe inshore waters, just perfect for snorkeling, swimming and boating. Outside of the bank is a treacherous reef notorious for wrecking ships which makes for great diving and deep sea fishing.
There are a few tips to be aware of when hitting the beaches here. All the beaches are free and public, including those by hotels and private homes. Most of the coastline is part of the national park, and fishing is not allowed from the beach. There are a huge variety of watersports for visitors, including jet skiing, jet boating, skiff boating, kayaking, glass-bottom boat trips, parasailing, banana boats, semi-submarine trips, kiteboarding, and windsurfing. If you're ready to try something more than snorkeling but not quite ready to try diving, try snuba!
Meet the World’s Only Performing Conch!
For the days when the beach doesn’t beckon, there are golf and miniature golf, horseback riding, tennis, bicycling, jogging and soccer; you can also wander the miles of beach searching for shells and driftwood. Beach-combing can be one of the most delightful ways to spend a leisurely morning at Northwest Point. Here, the pounding surf brings new treasures with every wave. Then, of course, there are a variety of sights and attractions scattered around Provo. Try a visit to the Cheshire Hall Plantation Ruins, explore the spectacular caves and rock carvings at Sapodilla Hill and West Harbor Bluff, and sample the local beer with a visit to Turks Head Microbrewery and the world’s only conch farm at Caicos Conch Farm. Make sure to see the live show featuring some trained conchs!
