"First of all, the owners Shahab and Gurvinder were absolutely fantastic! They were very accommodating and made sure we felt as if their home was our home. There knowledge of the islands and recommendations for food and activities were spot on. Their home is very comfortable, clean, well furnished and in a great location in the Grace Bay beach area. Grace Bay beach is by far one of the most pristine beaches we have experienced after visiting many other islands in the Caribbean. The sand is soft, the water is calm, and views picturesque. The location of this condo in Oceans Club West is ideal. It is literally in walking distance to the grocery store, cafes, bars, and shopping. Also, be sure to try the grouper fish and chips and award winning conch salad at the Seaside Cafe. This was our first trip to Provo but it will not be our last. We found the Turks Islanders to be very hospitable, warm, and friendly. This was what a vacation is supposed to be! Thanks again Shahab and Gurvinder. We look forward to returning soon."Guest: David C. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 16, 2014View listing
"Just got back from 9 days at place de la sol with family. WONDERFUL place! it's approx 10 second walk to taylor bay beach, which is quiet, secluded, clean and beautiful. taylor bay is rather shallow for swimming. the house itself is amazing with a screened in porch that got LOTS and LOTS of use while we were there, along with a great patio and pool. bathrooms were basic but had all that we needed. kitchen is well equipped and easy to cook in. driveway made parking easy and washer/dryer was a godsend. king suite is across the patio from the rest of the house which is nice for privacy. 2 bedrooms in the main house were spacious and comfortable. i would not hesitate to come back to the house over and over again. we really enjoyed it"Guest: Becca L. "We absolutely loved our stay in this unit. This was our 4th trip to Provo in 2 years and our 3rd stay at the Regent Grand. It is a beautiful property in an ideal location on Grace Bay beach. It is also in a great location for close proximity to restaurants and shops. The property and pool are immaculate. I personally think it's the nicest pool of all the GB properties. The staff are wonderful. We find it to be a little more quiet than the other properties so it is ideal for couples or families. The unit is beautifully decorated, spacious and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The balcony/terrace is large and has a fantastic view of Grace Bay. The owners were easy to deal with and extremely helpful with providing information and answering questions. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this unit again. We had a fantastic vacation and can't wait to return."Guest: Ali S Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: June 15, 2014View listing
"This was our first stay in Turks & Caicos, and after much research we chose the Turtle Cove area to be close to Smith's Reef. This condo was perfect for us, and exceeded our expectations. The bedroom and bathroom are not pictured in the listing, and they are very attractive and modern in appearance. It was too hot to spend much time on the balcony, but the view of the pool and marina is lovely. The multi-level pool is very large, and due to most of this development being owner occupied, we were often the only 2 people at the pool. Plenty of room for our floats, and lots of shade around the pool. The owner picked us up at the airport and gave us an overview of the area and the unit, and even took us to the IGA to stock up. He isn't always in town to do this, so we really appreciated that. He has an office on site, and we ran into him several times during the week, along with his lovely family. When I broke the clip on my husband's snorkel, he was kind enough to take the clip off his son's snorkel and lend it to us for the week. The walk to the beach is a little over 5 minutes, which we were able to do with no problem. The unit itself is top notch and puts you less than 5 minutes by foot from 4 of the 5 restaurants in Turtle Cove. Scooter Bob's is within walking distance if you want to rent a car or bicycle. Because of the proximity to restaurants, we did not rent a car, and used the money we saved to take a snorkeling/shelling tour. We had a wonderful stay, felt it was a great value, and hope to return again in the future."Guest: AnnfromKY Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 19, 2014View listing
Providenciales Travel Tips
Providenciales Vacation Rentals on 38 Square Miles of Bliss
Getting to Providenciales vacation rentals could not be easier. The island is home to the region’s only international airport. While it is the major resort area of the Turks and Caicos Islands, it is just 38 square miles. But those 38 square miles are a vacation paradise! Once you arrive for your Providenciales travel, venture to between the islands to discover each island’s unique characteristics. With a base in Providenciales, there are plenty of opportunities to take day trips out to explore the rest of this stunningly beautiful and tranquil area. It is close in distance to many major U.S. destinations, making it an ideal vacation for Americans. Temperatures here are constant throughout the year with averages between the 70s and 80s Fahrenheit, with little humidity and rain. Although the islands are British territory, the currency is the U.S. dollar.
As recently as the 1960s, there were no cars on the islands. Now, visitors can hire a 4x4 Jeep to make exploring all those out-of-the-way places easy. Another great option is to use the Gecko Shuttle, operating from Grace Bay. Be sure to buy your token before you board.
Stay at Providenciales Villas on the Beaches and Discover Paradise
Provo, as it is called locally, is the most developed of the islands, with resorts, golf courses and casinos. When asked, many visitors say they come for the pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. The beaches are beautiful but there is much more to Provo that that! Such as the unique Caicos Banks, an undersea pillar that comes from the depths of the ocean to within 30 to 50 feet of the surface. This bank provides safe inshore waters, just perfect for snorkeling, swimming and boating. Outside of the bank is a treacherous reef notorious for wrecking ships which makes for great diving and deep sea fishing.
There are a few tips to be aware of when hitting the beaches here. All the beaches are free and public, including those by hotels and private homes. Most of the coastline is part of the national park, and fishing is not allowed from the beach. There are a huge variety of watersports for visitors, including jet skiing, jet boating, skiff boating, kayaking, glass-bottom boat trips, parasailing, banana boats, semi-submarine trips, kiteboarding, and windsurfing. If you're ready to try something more than snorkeling but not quite ready to try diving, try snuba!
Meet the World’s Only Performing Conch!
For the days when the beach doesn’t beckon, there are golf and miniature golf, horseback riding, tennis, bicycling, jogging and soccer; you can also wander the miles of beach searching for shells and driftwood. Beach-combing can be one of the most delightful ways to spend a leisurely morning at Northwest Point. Here, the pounding surf brings new treasures with every wave. Then, of course, there are a variety of sights and attractions scattered around Provo. Try a visit to the Cheshire Hall Plantation Ruins, explore the spectacular caves and rock carvings at Sapodilla Hill and West Harbor Bluff, and sample the local beer with a visit to Turks Head Microbrewery and the world’s only conch farm at Caicos Conch Farm. Make sure to see the live show featuring some trained conchs!
