  • Wonderful ocean views from the balcony!

"Our family of 4 ( 2 adult children) enjoyed a fabulous week at Turks and Caicos and Villa Renaissance. The beach front property and pool were beautiful and ideally located within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The onsite staff were friendly and helpful. The suite was great, especially the sliding wall of windows that opened up the balcony to the condo. The ocean views from the balcony were wonderful! The furniture and beds were comfortable and the suite had everything we needed. We had great weather and thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent beach. The owner was very responsive to our inquiries and provided us with much useful information and recommendations. We would be pleased to rent Suite Margarita again and to recommend it to friends."

  • Great place - beware of construction though.

"My husband, 2 other married couples and two other siblings stayed at Bella Sur Mer for a week. The location is right on the beach and you have your own little private pool that has great seating in the shade if you need it. The caretaker came once during our stay to clean which is really nice. Each room has it's own new A/C unit that worked perfectly. The kitchen is stocked with all the tools you need to cook if thats what you plan to do for meals. Lots of seating for everyone if you want to relax in the house too. The snorkeling is the best! The reef directly in front of the house was great; saw huge grouper, huge lobster, starfish and lots of other fish, big and small. If you walk out to the beach and take a left, walk down about 1/2 mile (where the white stair case is at another house) there's another phenomenal reef, about 40 feet deep, we saw huge sea turtles, enormous eagle rays, large sting rays, large barracuda and many other species of fish in all shapes, sizes and colors! No need to waste money on snorkeling cruises, the best is right out your back door!! Its very windy on this side of the island so the ocean is very choppy and made it tiresome to swim through all the time, but it is well worth it and great exercise. The one negative is that there are some local boaters who disregard the boat channel markers and drive right through the reef at full speed (they come from the marina and head east to the resorts to take people tubing, etc.) so that was worrisome at times. Also, be aware, that there is construction still going on right next door. An earlier review stated this back in August of 2013 and I had figured by now it would have been finished. Not so. There is the main house and two smaller homes, maybe a third being constructed at this site. There was the usual jackhammer, sawing, pounding etc. sounds that was not fun to hear while trying to relax. They start at 7:30 and usually done by the end of the day, they also work weekends. I'm guessing its taking so long because the construction workers are on "island time." From the looks of it, could be another year and half or so before the construction is done. Another thing was our water was shut off without notice. I called the caretaker, who called the water company, who said it would be on in an hour; I'm guessing, again, that was "island time" because it didn't come back on until 6 hours later. Other than those things, the location is great and it was affordable."

  • Absolute Magic!

"Our first visit to the beautiful island of Turks and Caicos was incredible. As soon as we landed, our family was rendered speechless. 10 days of pure bliss awaited us! Michael and his lovely wife were so accommodating! Michael met us at the airport, and navigated us to the lovely private villa. It was clean, comfortable, and so quiet. Living in Dallas, Texas, quiet doesn't really exist in our world. Lounging in the hammock on the front porch of the villa, eating a quiet family meal on the screened in porch, or watching the sun rise on the back porch with a cup of coffee was nothing short of incredible. The beaches here are perfect. The water is crystal clear, snorkeling is a must, and the local restaurants are absolute perfection. Our family has been blessed to travel to many different places, but Turks and Caicos was by far our favorite place of all. Be sure to watch the sunsets on Leeward Beach. Only a 5 minute walk from the villa. Nearly every night we had the entire beach to ourselves. Parasailing was well worth it. Give it a go! You won't regret it. We also indulged in a snorkeling excursion. We met some wonderful people, ate fresh conch salad (to die for!), and visited Iguana Island, also known as 'Nowhere'. To visit 'Nowhere' was so incredible, calm, and peaceful. A must! The pool at the villa was a plus as well! Our three children (14 year old twins and an 11 year old) loved it. Don't forget to eat at Las Brisas on Chalk Sound. You CANNOT miss this! Taylor Bay is also a must. Clear, shallow water as far as the eye can see. Less crowded than some of the other beaches as well. Amazing. Kitchen is well stocked, bathrooms are good size, beds are comfortable. Yes, we'll be back!"

Providenciales Travel Tips

Providenciales Vacation Rentals on 38 Square Miles of Bliss

Getting to Providenciales vacation rentals could not be easier. The island is home to the region’s only international airport. While it is the major resort area of the Turks and Caicos Islands, it is just 38 square miles. But those 38 square miles are a vacation paradise! Once you arrive for your Providenciales travel, venture to between the islands to discover each island’s unique characteristics. With a base in Providenciales, there are plenty of opportunities to take day trips out to explore the rest of this stunningly beautiful and tranquil area. It is close in distance to many major U.S. destinations, making it an ideal vacation for Americans. Temperatures here are constant throughout the year with averages between the 70s and 80s Fahrenheit, with little humidity and rain. Although the islands are British territory, the currency is the U.S. dollar.

As recently as the 1960s, there were no cars on the islands. Now, visitors can hire a 4x4 Jeep to make exploring all those out-of-the-way places easy. Another great option is to use the Gecko Shuttle, operating from Grace Bay. Be sure to buy your token before you board.

Stay at Providenciales Villas on the Beaches and Discover Paradise

Provo, as it is called locally, is the most developed of the islands, with resorts, golf courses and casinos. When asked, many visitors say they come for the pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. The beaches are beautiful but there is much more to Provo that that! Such as the unique Caicos Banks, an undersea pillar that comes from the depths of the ocean to within 30 to 50 feet of the surface. This bank provides safe inshore waters, just perfect for snorkeling, swimming and boating. Outside of the bank is a treacherous reef notorious for wrecking ships which makes for great diving and deep sea fishing.

There are a few tips to be aware of when hitting the beaches here. All the beaches are free and public, including those by hotels and private homes. Most of the coastline is part of the national park, and fishing is not allowed from the beach. There are a huge variety of watersports for visitors, including jet skiing, jet boating, skiff boating, kayaking, glass-bottom boat trips, parasailing, banana boats, semi-submarine trips, kiteboarding, and windsurfing. If you're ready to try something more than snorkeling but not quite ready to try diving, try snuba!

Meet the World’s Only Performing Conch!

For the days when the beach doesn’t beckon, there are golf and miniature golf, horseback riding, tennis, bicycling, jogging and soccer; you can also wander the miles of beach searching for shells and driftwood. Beach-combing can be one of the most delightful ways to spend a leisurely morning at Northwest Point. Here, the pounding surf brings new treasures with every wave. Then, of course, there are a variety of sights and attractions scattered around Provo. Try a visit to the Cheshire Hall Plantation Ruins, explore the spectacular caves and rock carvings at Sapodilla Hill and West Harbor Bluff, and sample the local beer with a visit to Turks Head Microbrewery and the world’s only conch farm at Caicos Conch Farm. Make sure to see the live show featuring some trained conchs!
