  • Beautiful property and a wonderful value!

"Typically I visit a new vacation destination, check it off of my list, and plan for somewhere new the next time around. After having the pleasure of visiting this beautiful island and staying in this lovely penthouse condo with my husband and two teenagers, I'd gladly return year after year to enjoy a repeat of this wonderful week. I had never used vrbo.com, and I was more than a little nervous about booking with an individual instead of directly through a hotel. I was pleased to find that Louise was much more efficient, responsive, and helpful than any hotel I've ever worked with. She answered all of my questions and my reservation was handled in an extremely professional manner. The condo is located along the back of the property of Ocean Club West, less than a 5 minute walk to both the beach and several good, casual restaurants (we tried Jimmy's Dive Bar, Danny Buoy's, and the Seaside Café) . The furnishings were beautiful, the beds were comfortable, and it was very clean. Beach and pool chairs (as well as umbrellas) were plentiful. We spent most of each day floating in the crystal clear turquoise water on the floats provided in the condo. The pool was warm and clean as well. We used the kitchen to prepare breakfast and lunch, and it was equipped with much more than we needed. I borrowed a bike from OCW and rode to the Graceway Gourmet several times for provisions. On our last day, we rented a car and visited the Caicos Conch Farm, snorkeled at Bight Reef, and were amazed by the views of Chalk Sound (with a lovely lunch at Las Brisas). A car is nice, but certainly not a necessity at this property. We always felt very safe and comfortable in the casual atmosphere of the island. Everyone we met on the island seemed genuinely glad we were there and went above and beyond our expectations. For our family, this vacation was close to perfect."

  • Fantastic Vacation!!! 5/2/2014 - 5/10/2014

"If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation this is it. My wife & I celebrated our 25th anniversary here & couldn't ask for a better place. We have vacation in Costa Rica, HI, Dominica, Cancun, etc. and have never enjoyed a vacation as much as here. We saw an average of 5 people per day as they walked by. Brian & Lynne (owners) were so helpful, putting up with all my questions prior to our vacation. We have never used VRBO before and were a little leery, no worries. We were greeted at the ferry by Mac Campbell who was great. Anything we needed Mac made it happen. We rented a car and toured both North & Middle Caicos. We had a nice breeze our entire trip so we didn't even need bug spray. Snorkeled 3 Mary Cays and walked the beach for miles. One day we walked over 7 miles and never saw anyone. Our mere words are inadequate to express how great the Whitby White House is. We will be back - OFTEN!!!"

  • Great Stay at the Yacht Club

"This was our first stay in Turks & Caicos, and after much research we chose the Turtle Cove area to be close to Smith's Reef. This condo was perfect for us, and exceeded our expectations. The bedroom and bathroom are not pictured in the listing, and they are very attractive and modern in appearance. It was too hot to spend much time on the balcony, but the view of the pool and marina is lovely. The multi-level pool is very large, and due to most of this development being owner occupied, we were often the only 2 people at the pool. Plenty of room for our floats, and lots of shade around the pool. The owner picked us up at the airport and gave us an overview of the area and the unit, and even took us to the IGA to stock up. He isn't always in town to do this, so we really appreciated that. He has an office on site, and we ran into him several times during the week, along with his lovely family. When I broke the clip on my husband's snorkel, he was kind enough to take the clip off his son's snorkel and lend it to us for the week. The walk to the beach is a little over 5 minutes, which we were able to do with no problem. The unit itself is top notch and puts you less than 5 minutes by foot from 4 of the 5 restaurants in Turtle Cove. Scooter Bob's is within walking distance if you want to rent a car or bicycle. Because of the proximity to restaurants, we did not rent a car, and used the money we saved to take a snorkeling/shelling tour. We had a wonderful stay, felt it was a great value, and hope to return again in the future."

  • Grace Bay Beauty

"My husband and I stayed at the Alexandra Resort for a week. The room is small but for the money, you can't beat it. We used the kitchenette every day for breakfast and snacks. No stove so we didn't cook, but the restaurants are so amazing, you want to try them all. We loved having drinks on the patio. The pool area is gorgeous but the main attraction is the beach. The water is so beautiful you won't believe it. We definitely agree best beach in the world. Staff are so friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful trip and will be back at Alexandra Resort again."

Turks & Caicos Islands Travel Tips

Turks and Caicos Vacation Rentals Welcome Visitors

Located some 650 miles east-southeast of Miami, the Turks and Caicos Islands are a British overseas territory. This sun-seekers' paradise is a neighbor to the Bahamas. Its capital is Cockburn Town, located on Grand Turk Island. The main entry point is Providenciales, with its international airport and harbor. From here, visitors can fly on to any of the inhabited islands. Its tropical climate and pleasant trade winds makes it an attractive location. This largely unspoiled area is a unique paradise where the inhabitants, or "belongers" as they are known, warmly welcome visitors. Visitors to Turks and Caicos vacation rentals come for the unspoiled beaches and crystal-clear water. Here, they enjoy the relaxed atmosphere along with beautiful scenery.

The Caicos Islands

The area of West Caicos is perfect for scuba diving and fishing. This uninhabited island is accessible by boat and often, the only company you'll have are the birds. While on the island, visitors often hike to Lake Catherine and the ruins of Yankee Town where all that remains are the remnants of the railroad and a steam engine.

Bird-lovers will also enjoy a trip to Little Water Cay, currently being developed as a nature resort for its wide variety of birds. Once the haunt of pirates such as Mary Reid and Annie Bonnie, Parrot Cay is now currently being developed into a resort area. Known as the "Emerald Isle" for its fertile soil, North Caicos is where much of the island's food is produced. It is also a tourist area, with miles of deserted beaches. Here, visitors will see osprey, flamingos and iguanas among the wildlife at the nature reserve. Middle Caicos, or "Grand Caicos," as it is sometimes known, is an undeveloped island. The inhabitants live in one of three settlements--Conch Bar, Banbarra and Lorimers. The coast is made up of bluffs and small, quiet coves on the west. To the south and north are high limestone cliffs and white sandy beaches. Here, visitors can explore the island's incredible caves. Middle Caicos is connected to North Caicos by a causeway accessible to cross at low tide.

Uninhabited East Caicos is home to the local turtle population who lay their eggs along its 17 miles of beach at the north of the island. Evidence of early rock carvings has been discovered to the northwest. On South Caicos is the quiet capital of Cockburn Harbor where visitors to Turks and Caicos villas can enjoy a quiet but social evening. During the day, this island is known for yachting, diving and spectacular big-game fishing.

The Turks Island

Grand Turk is the location of the islands' government and its business area. Visitors to Turks and Caicos vacation rentals here will enjoy the history as well as the culture. The waterfront museum details the story of the Molasses shipwreck and features rare manuscripts and prints gathered from among the islands. Buildings here date from the early 19th century, with high, white-washed walls and imposing entrances. Visitors will enjoy the diving, walks and guided tours on offer here.

Salt Cay, dominated by an imposing 1830s-style, white Bermudian house is one of the most charismatic of the Salt Islands. It is home to salt ponds which are still productive. Here, visitors will find relics of the old whaling industry. It has excellent beaches and during the winter, the majestic humpback whales can be spotted off its coast. Many visitors choose Turks and Caicos travel during the winter in order to spot these incredible gentle giants en route to their nearby breeding ground. Real enthusiasts will enjoy a diving trip to listen to the whales' song underwater. Visitors will also enjoy the opportunity to swim with the dolphins and turtles and see the spotted eagle rays and manta rays.

Turks and Caicos Travel to Find a Home Away From Home

Visitors to Turks and Caicos villas will find a warm welcome from the "belongers" and a wonderful property to call home. There is such an array of properties available that visitors will be hard-pressed to pick the one that best suits them. Huge beachfront properties, with their own docks and pool or small cozy cottages with private pools--the choice is impressive. Each property comes with all the little extras that make a vacation home into something really special. The major benefit of renting a home is that of space; you'll get to relax in private, peaceful surroundings. Visitors will find all that and much more with these Turks and Caicos vacation rentals.
