"It's a little bit of an adventure getting to Slice of Life, what with planes, rental car, vehicle ferry, winding left handed roads, and some steep inclines. Then you get to this little slice of paradise and you know you've made a great decision. John "Fitz" was very welcoming letting us know the ins and outs of the studio and giving us a few pointers on exploring the island by 4X4. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you would need. My wife was very impressed with the towels (they were super soft). No surprises here, it was everything advertised and more. You are in the tropics so use bug spray on the deck, especially around dusk (this was expected). The view out of the front deck was amazing. We ended up getting out 3 different maps to try to figure out all the islands and hills we were seeing. The view seems to go on forever. There was a nice set of binoculars, a nice sound system that easily hooked up to our iPhone, and a large TV that we never turned on. Wake up for sunrise, it's perfect. I will recommend this property to friends and relatives. My wife and I plan to return in the future. Great stay. Thanks Fitz."

"Set in lovely gardens populated by tortoises, hens and numerous birds the cottages are within a short walk of the beach and frequent buses to Bridgetown. The cottages are fully equipped with large fridge freezer, cooker and microwave if you wish to self cater. Alternatively there are several restaurants within walking distance for eating out. Barbara welcomed us with a cold beer and provided us with some lovely home made cakes during our stay. Whether you want to laze in the gardens, on the beach, explore Barbados or go to the cricket in Bridgetown this is the perfect accommodation"

"We have been to Aruba many times and stayed at our timeshare unit, but were travelling with more people this time and decided to try a house. Extensive searching of VRBO and Homeaway websites led us to Safir 18. It looked beautiful, but pictures don’t always give the full ‘picture’ of a site. Plus we were a bit skeptical of sending a lot of money to essentially an unknown entity. Once we made it to Aruba, Francois met us at the house to give the tour, explain the security system and remotes and turned us loose. I can now say, the pictures don’t do the house justice. The landscaping, pool and house are absolutely beautiful. It really makes you feel almost like royalty to have access to such a great place. I would recommend it to anyone.
In addition, the location was quite convenient to Palm Beach restaurants and activities, Arashi , and Malmok beaches, and not that far to the new Superfoods grocery store. We like to snorkel and Arashi and Malmok are the places you see all the snorkel trip boats stopped. We could drive there in less than 5 minutes and snorkel for free, right alongside the snorkel boats.
One concern we had was the extra utilities (water and electric), but I read the meters every morning and did a little calculation to see how we were doing. We avoided running the AC in the two big high ceiling rooms, but with doors open front and back the normal airflow kept it very comfortable. We only ran bedroom AC in the evening and the end result was that we were refunded about half of our utility deposit on check out."

"First off, Yves is wonderful! He explains everything in detail and is always available if you have any questions or need any help. I was even able to arrange a ride to the airport (at 4am) with very short notice after my arranged transport fell through. He offers pick up and return to the airport for a very reasonable fee (less than taxi and more trustworthy). He also offers excursions, although I did not take any on this trip. The place is great for 2 people. Furnished well and clean. A/C works good. My favorite part was the location!! Directly across from the pool, it's easy to run in for a snack or drink or whatever. A couple days, I actually had the entire pool area to myself while I was out under the nice umbrellas on a comfy lounge chair. A quick walk to the beach was just as good. That area of the beach was basically empty, with nice shady palapas and comfy lounge chairs as well. A beautiful beach and the dock there made for some interesting time spent watching the boats coming and going for excursions and such. Kitchen is well stocked. Bottled water is provided. I was a little surprised to find that I had to pay some for the electricity. I did not see that in the description. I am pretty frugal with my energy expenditures, so it wasn't much for me, but if you want to run the a/c constantly, it could add up. The little snack bar near the pool is a little expensive and you might be better off to stock your fridge with drinks and if you don't want to cook, there are a few places within walking distance that are a much better deal. Kat's Corner was good and inexpensive too. If you want non-local alcoholic bevs, buy at the airport duty free shop. Overall, a great place if you just want to relax by the pool and beach. The Wi-Fi is a little sketchy and slow, so if you absolutely need Wi-Fi, you might want to provide your own somehow. I would definitely recommend and return if I go to Punta Cana again!"
