  • Perfect Get Away

"My husband and I had the best 5 days in the cottage to begin our Caribbean vacation. It was truly a stunning place, both inside the cottage and outside. The seclusion made it just the perfect get away for us. We bought groceries and really hardly left the cottage. The ocean views blew us away, the breeze being just the right amount. We were able to experience nature in its true form (while having the comforts of home) from the amazing colors of the sunset and sunrise, the moonlight and one night the milky way! Coming from an urban setting seeing the stars in its full glory was exquisite and memorable. We have already decided this was a place to return to in the future. One thing to note, being so isolated, a 4x4 may be something to consider and be forewarned of the critters from small to big. Our last night there we encountered 2 giant centipedes (around 10 inches) in the bathroom which made our city folk skin cringe more than a bit. Overall, an experience of a lifetime to be in this cottage on this beautiful island."

  • Escaped for a while.....

"My family,(my husband myself, and our late teen aged children) and I have just returned from a week in St. Croix--college and high school Spring Break. We had an amazing week, the weather was wonderful and the pace of life was great! One of the very best things about being back on St. Croix was staying at Gentle Winds. The complex was very well kept, the neighbors were friendly and helpful, but not intrusive, the beach was beautiful, quiet and not crowded even once during the week, the pool and snack bar only added to the water front experience, and the gated community made us feel completely safe. I cannot think of one negative thing about Gentle Winds. We stayed in Unit D6 and were very comfortable there. The unit was as described and as pictured on the VRBO website. We found everything we expected and more. We felt like guests in a home rather than vactioners at generic resort. Everything we needed was there from the minute we arrived. I was told that the house would have staples and a few things to get us stated, and it did. It was really great to walk in, open the refrigerator and find a cold bolttle of water! Location, Location, Location....Gentle Winds is well situated on the island. It was about a 20 minute trip to Christianstead were we shopped, dined, and departed for our snorkeling trip to Buck Island. It was also just about 25 minutes to Frederickstead. We didn't have far to drive to visit the Botanical Gardens, the Cruzan Rum factory or anything else we wanted to do. It was just about perfect. As for the unit within the complex, I loved that location, too. Being on top of the hill allowed for wonderful breezes and great views. Even from the front deck at the unit, which faced away from the water, the view of the hills at night was great. Maybe my favorite place for a night cap :), if not my favorite a close second to the hammock on the beach! I had never used VRBO to rent a vacation property before. I was a bit uncertain, but working with Larry and Pat was great. Communication was clear, easy, and prompt right down to the e-mail we received after the vacation welcoming us back home and letting us know that the security deposit check was in the mail. Overall, an A+ experience!! I would reccommed VRBO to anyone who asked, and would happily and whole heartedly reccommend a week at Gentle Winds and Unit D6. Thanks Larry and Pat for your part in making our week amazing, relaxing, and better than we imagined."

  • Amazingly beautiful!!

"Four of us recently stayed at Brimstage and wow, what a pleasant surprise. The pictures don't do the place justice. The reviews are 100% accurate and more. We LOVED the place. Wally, the owner, has truly thought of everything. The house has everything you need and more. The views, wow, the views are just gorgeous! We got into a routine of getting up, having breakfast out on the patio, heading to the pool then hot tub, grilling our dinner and eating it on the beautiful outdoor dining table, then a late night game of Uno lasting until the wee hours. We did take the Cruzan Rum tour (so worth is and Shelly was great). Wally called us on Sunday to see how our time at the house was going, what a thoughtful gesture. I HIGHLY recommend staying here, we plan on making this an annual trip because of all the ammenities. Everything was well maintained and cared for. We did eat at Freedom City Bar and Grill, they had a beautiful sunset while eating delicious burgers. Mostly grilled (brand new grill) at the house because it was just so relaxing and nice we didn't mind cooking. Summer Jump Up was on Friday night so we went into town for that and it was really fun! Looking forward to gong back already....miss the amazing sunrises. The views are incredible. I can't say anything bad at all about Brimstage, just that I want to go back!!"

  • st. Croix Stay

"The Yellow Bird was beautiful and Unique. The house was spacious, clean, offered plenty of family space but also lots of privacy. The owner Zendarene was just lovely, hospitable and very kind. The grounds are spectacular! Our family really enjoyed our stay and I'd definitely book to visit Yellow Bird again!"

USVI/St. Croix Travel Tips

St. Croix Vacation Rentals on an Island of Contrasts

The largest of the United States Virgin Islands, visitors to Caribbean resorts find St. Croix a great location. St. Croix is part of the Antilles chain, separating the Caribbean and Atlantic Oceans. Those choosing St. Croix vacation rentals will find an island of contrasts, with dry cactus areas and lush rain forest. Choose St. Croix villa rentals for great weather all year.

St Croix Vacation Rentals Allow You to Visit Unique Towns with Individual Character

The two main towns, each with its own unique character are Christiansted and Frederiksted. Visitors to St. Croix vacation rentals in Christiansted will be staying in a national historic Site. These St. Croix villa rentals are surrounded by wonderful shops and some of the finest diving spots in the Caribbean. Further north is Frederiksted, near the site where Columbus first landed in 1493. Whichever of these

Caribbean resorts you choose, you will be guaranteed a wonderful vacation.

St. Croix Villa Rentals Offer Undiscovered Charm

Staying in St. Croix vacation rentals, visitors are delighted to find that this island remains largely “undiscovered” by tourism. These Caribbean resorts may be quiet but they are definitely visitor-friendly. The island has some of the best opportunities for eco-tourism in the Caribbean, from exploring the island’s mountains to its coral reefs. Those staying in St. Croix villa rentals can head to the hills on horseback or kayak down the Salt River.

Caribbean Resorts Are a Diver's Delight

One thing that visitors to St. Croix villa rentals won’t be is bored. The island has enough to see and do to keep you coming back year after year. Visitors to Buck Island Reef National Monument will enjoy the fabulous nature trail across the island. Visitors to St. Croix vacation rentals find white, sandy beaches and crystal-clear water, perfect for snorkeling. The diving here is second to none and includes "the wall," a drop-off on the north shore area. The wall runs almost the entire length of the shore and keeps divers occupied for days! No one can be bored in these Caribbean resorts.
