  • Felt like home in Paradise

"We couldn't have asked for more! The house is equipped with all the accessories you need from snorkel gear to bikes to kitchen accessories to spices. We truly enjoyed our time at the house and pool. On the days we ventured out, we found everything to be conveniently located to where we were. The awesome restaurants, Cane Beach and activities were all within walking or a short drive distance away. In addition, Kent and Dawn was always available for us when the power went out (common island life occurrence) even when they were on vacation themselves. We hope to come back again next year and be able to stay Villa Dawn when there are less mosquitoes."

  • Could not have been nicer!

"This was the most relaxing vacation my husband and I have ever taken! The home is pristine with everything you could possibly want! Extremely clean and modern with very comfortable beds! The owners, Leon and Donna were wonderful to work with and provided us a wealth of information about the home and the island. Also, Kurt, who manages the property for the owner was very attentive and nice to work with! Great north location with a short distance to several great local restaurants. We especially enjoyed the trip to Buck Island that included snorkeling and then plenty of time on an amazing beach! We look forward to a return trip and wouldn't hesitate to stay at this property again!"

  • Great luxury campsite at beautiful Cane Bay

"We hit the vacation jackpot by finding this unique gem on St. Croix. Unlike so many places, the Virgin Kayak campground run by the awesome Jill and Bryan Updyke is exactly as advertised and pictured on their website. It’s super clean and close to the beautiful beach with all the amenities listed and then some. It’s rustic and quaint and very comfortable. If you don’t like nature and need a lot of luxuries, this isn’t the place for you, but if you want an affordable and convenient get away, this is just the place. The bathhouse is a bit of a walk but you should find everything you need right on site. The hosts are super accommodating and go out of their way to make you feel at home, both at the campground and on the island. Cane Bay has a lot to offer. EAT @ Cane Bay is delicious (a little pricey) and is right on site but there are several other places close by to eat – we really enjoyed Rowdy Joes. You will need a car, and you will want to book a kayak tour in advance. We will be back soon!"

  • Outstanding family vacation!

"We just returned from what was one of the best family vacations for my husband, teenage son, my sister, and my parents. Larimar is an astounding property. Sitting on top of a hill with a breathtaking view of Cane Bay, the open floor plan of the house creates an atmosphere of being one with the natural beauty surrounding the house. Photographs on the VRBO listing accurately show the property. But what the photographs can’t show are the other elements that make Larimar special. Tropical breezes cooled the open great room all day and evening making it our favorite spot for lounging, eating, reading and just staring at the ever-changing colors of the sea. The view from the balcony off the second floor master bedroom was incredible, especially at night. The pool was refreshing. Humming birds visited the flowering shrubs on the patio daily and we all got a kick out of the little green geckos scampering everywhere. Having the small kitchen across from the main living area was different but made the whole living area feel larger. At times during the day and night, the gentle sound of the surf could be heard. Peace and tranquility are hallmarks of Larimar. The other element not captured by photographs we believe was the most important: Michael, the property manager. Michael’s passion about the island and his exuberance in wanting to share all his knowledge of things to see and do were the sparks that made the vacation truly memorable. Following his suggestions, we saw and experienced things we would not have on our own. He gave us mini-tours on two days and we loved both excursions! Driving through the rain forest, picking fresh mangos, exploring ruins of sugar cane estates, buying beer for pigs, and tasting the special Mamma-wanna drink, enjoying the Sunday-Fun day at Rainbow beach, were just some of the things Michael showed us. His restaurant recommendations were spot-on. The GPS device he provided for our use was invaluable! To cap-off a wonderful week, Michael arranged for Kiki and the Flaming Gypsies (all wonderful, smart ladies) to come to Larimar to perform their fire dances. Fabulous! Snorkeling at Cane Bay and lounging on the beach at Carambola were great. The overall friendliness of the locals put us at ease. There are so many more wonderful things we did not get to do that I foresee another trip back to St. Croix and, hopefully, to Larimar, because with Michael as the concierge, the trip will be outstanding!"
