  • Exactly what we needed for vacation

"The one-bedroom was extremely clean, there were plenty of kitchen supplies, it is centrally located on the island, and the patio overlooked the ocean. There is a pool/hot tub - but we were so enamored with exploring the numerous beaches, we never used it! Our favorites on the island included ocean kayaking from the Tamarind Resort (1/2 day rental is $30 for single, $40 for double kayak) - we were able to kayak out to a deserted island and along several remote beaches. We also paddleboarded off of Rainbow Beach and hiked to the tide pools. We really enjoyed going during low season, because we had the majority of the beaches all to ourselves!"

  • Incredible Stay

"The house was absolutely perfect - better than described. The views and constant breeze are wonderful. James was really nice - brought us some really good (and interesting) fruits. We would have been happy to stay on the porch all week. We had four kids (two teenagers) and they all had a blast. We didn't spend much time at Divi (the resort / casino) but it is very nice - just not our thing. The folks there are really nice and helpful though - be sure to go to the gift shop. The lady there has lived on the island 20 or so years and had tons of maps, good advice, etc.. The restaurant at the resort is very good but expensive - plan on that one night. The beach at Divi is nice - just right across the street, but we tried a different beach every day. You really have to rent a car to see the island. Go ahead and have a rental waiting at the airport. I was really stressed about that but it's really easy (same as everywhere else). The driving takes a little getting used to but not big deal (opposite side but cars are same as US). The island, as small as it is, has three distinct climates (rainforest, grassland / interior, and desert). That was really neat - the distinct character of each "region". All the beaches are really cool and have their own character. We spent the most time at Cane Bay - absolutely beautiful (snorkeled, scuba, and just hung out). Cane Bay is near the rain forest - had a couple of short torrential down pours that we actually enjoyed. Be prepared - a storm can move in quickly and disappear just as quickly but it's refreshing. The folks at the dive shop were really nice and helpful. Shoy beach was our favorite - great snorkeling and swimming is incredible. Point Udall was cool. Need to spend a day in Christiansted in the shops and there are some good resturants along the docks. The beaches at Frederiksted were nice, but didn't really like the vibe there - not terrible, just not our favorite. Need to go the Cruzan distillery - stop by the hospitality bar and hang out and get a couple of six packs to go. For a couple of bucks they will pack up to six bottles in a cardboard container wrapped in bubble wrap / sealed, etc. and check it at the airport for free. Think you can have one per person so brought back a bunch. The cheapest rum you'll ever find. You have to try La Reine's Chicken Shack - music and great island food - cool little town. We will definitely be back. Loved it and didn't want to come home."

  • Fantastic Stay

"The stay here was amazing. From the view to the amenities to the helpfulness of the owners, it was truly a wonderful experience. The amazing view and sound of the ocean was incomparable. When we got home, our house sounded too quiet because there was no sound of the waves crashing on the shore. The condo is close and convenient to everything and the property itself is maintained well, quiet and relaxing. The balcony is large and you could look out over the water for hours. The inside of the unit is very comfortable, decorated nicely and has all the comforts of home. There is a restaurant within walking distance at the Palms at Pelican Cove (that has a theme most nights, including Caribbean night on Thursdays) and there are many other places to eat, shop and explore a short car ride away. The pool area was very nice and quiet too and the beach was great to sit at and look out at the water. The owners provided a lot of information and helpful tips to enjoy beautiful St. Croix. Nothing is far away from this location. It is a great place to stay on a very special island."

  • Toucan review

"Description and photos were accurate regarding location and property. Property was clean enough but the place did need some repairs: cannot open all the windows, rotten wood around various windows/doors (which attracts ants), washing machine needs a new dial to select washing program (pliers were supplied but the setting is unclear without the dial), perhaps a new grill would be nice (left side did not function and the right side cooked erratically.) Being a homeowner, I know these things are easily fixed. If the friend or relative were not too fussy, I would definitely recommend this spot. I loved being able to sleep with windows and doors open with the fresh air blowing in and being able to pop into the pool whenever I felt like it. I also loved eating outside beside the pool at breakfast and dinner. The property manager was very nice and personable. We would stay here again."
