  • Sound The Trumpets for Trumpetbush Manor

"When looking for places to stay in Christiansted, my sister and I came upon La Vaughn and Rivert's apartment and we knew that we wanted to stay there and I'm glad we did. The apartment is perfect for two people with full kitchen, dining area, bedroom and bathroom. Very clean and well stocked. There's a TV with Netflix where during our lazy days we were able to catch some movies and tv shows that we were wanting to see. The apartment is centrally located with most things in walking distance. My sister and I don't drive and we got around just fine. We love to walk so we spent lots of time walking around the neighborhood. We felt very safe and people are very friendly! I loved the greeting of "Mornin" or "Afternoon" from people we encountered and I missed that when we got back home to Philly! If you want to explore outside of Christiansted a car is probably needed. However my sister and I took the shared taxis to Frederiksted which were about $3.00 each way per person. Just an FYI they pick up along the route for anyone that flags them down. Also it's best to go to Frederiksted on a day a cruise ship comes in. It's livelier then. The apartment is close to the harbour area where there are restaurants, shops and the ferry over to Protestant Cay where there is a beach. The ferry is $5 round trip and takes about two minutes. There is a Pueblo supermarket which is about a 20 minute walk from the apartment but my sister and I enjoyed the walk as it gave us an opportunity to explore the area. We were able to cook meals in the fully equipped kitchen which allowed us to save money! There is a smaller convenience store called Jiffy Mart that's about three blocks from the apartment which became our go to place for beverages, snacks and small food items. Also try Singh's which is down the road. Try the pates and Johnny cakes! One of the most important factors in the overall experience of our stay was the generous and welcoming spirit of La Vaughn and Rivert. They made us feel as if we had known them for many years and were a part of their family/friend circle. When we arrived we were met by La Vaughn (and her beautiful daughters!) and after showing us around the apartment she took the time to give us as much information about the area as possible. She even checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was okay! This great apartment, the beautiful island and La Vaughn and her family's generous spirit made this an amazing vacation for my sister and me!"

  • Great time in Sunny St Croix

"I just got back from sunny St Croix, where I stayed in the sister suite owned by Larry. It was clean, well maintained and beautiful. The view is spectacular and breathtaking. I opened the front door and saw that I was surrounded by beautiful deep green water. This unit is directly on the tip of the island, and I must say that it has the best views of the entire island. The unit is fully equipped, and well maintained. Everything works, and the bed is so comfortable. The price point is very good, and I felt that I received good value. This place is special, a hidden gem. The deck chairs have nice cushions, and are comfortable. You are literally overlooking the water, and I heard the waves at night ( this was divine ). It looks as if the owner, Larry really keeps up with things, as the deck was freshly painted, and the flat screen TV was brand new. The unit is comfortable and unique. The views and ambiance is unbeatable. Simply fantastic. I must also write that dealing with the owner, Larry was a pleasure. He was very good at communication, very professional and I felt as if he really cared about me and the unit. I will definately be back, as everything was positive, beautiful and memorable. While I do not normally write reviews, I had to write about how great this place and Larry is. You should come here and enjoy it the way that I did ! I highly recommend it."

  • Feels like home

"My brother and I wanted something different for our annual trip back home. We wanted to feel at home while at home and that's exactly what we got! Everything was clean. The patio was very spacious, we spent a lot of time out there (I fell asleep a couple times out there :) ), and nothing beats a bottle Cruzan rum to greet you as you walk in. A lovely time, a lovely place. Can't wait to do it again!!"

  • Exactly what we needed for vacation

"The one-bedroom was extremely clean, there were plenty of kitchen supplies, it is centrally located on the island, and the patio overlooked the ocean. There is a pool/hot tub - but we were so enamored with exploring the numerous beaches, we never used it! Our favorites on the island included ocean kayaking from the Tamarind Resort (1/2 day rental is $30 for single, $40 for double kayak) - we were able to kayak out to a deserted island and along several remote beaches. We also paddleboarded off of Rainbow Beach and hiked to the tide pools. We really enjoyed going during low season, because we had the majority of the beaches all to ourselves!"
