"Location, location, location. This condo is about 10 minutes from Christiansted, 15 minutes from the airport, 20-25 minutes to Frederiksted and about 10 minutes to the scenic road that takes you along the northwestern coast of the island to Carambola and Cane Bay (both solid beaches). We were able to enjoy all that St. Croix has to offer. We went horseback riding, ATVing, visited the island's best restaurants and spent many a lazy day on various beaches. Cynthia is great. If you have a problem, she's on it (we had only one, with the door lock; it was resolved with one phone call inside three minutes). She has plenty of creature comforts taken care of when you arrive, including plenty of nice beach towels. The condo is in a quiet community right next to The Palms, so if you need a good bite to eat or beachside drink, it's a 3-minute walk. The condo was plenty spacious for four people, and there's a nice, big porch with a water view, gas grill and plenty of seating. There are lots of windows and on mild days, you can create a nice airstream through the living room by opening a few. And Cynthia did not skimp on the king-size beds. They're quite comfy. If there's one drawback, it's that there's no really good place to swim off the beach at the complex, but you'll find that in St. Croix, beaches have different purposes (snorkeling, sunbathing) and only a few (the Buccaneer, 10 minutes away) have the soft, white sand you might find on, say, Florida's Gulf Coast. In any case, the complex has a massive pool with swimming lanes and a hot tub, so you won't be too put out if you need a dip. Did I mention the location? Not to harp, but my buddy's a big scuba diver. He was at his boat every morning within 10 minutes. We rode horses down Cane Bay Road and into the ocean, about 15 minutes away. Afterward, we ate at Eat@Cane Bay, which was tasty. Two of our best dinners -- at 40 Strand and Savant (do NOT sleep on the chocolate rum cake with bacon-pecan ice cream) -- were a 10-minute drive. And if you hit 40 Strand, be sure to catch some tunes at the Rum & Wine bar across the street. I think it's called Rum & Wine. If you head out to Frederiksted -- we took 4-wheelers to a mountaintop, then into a rain forest -- you'll want to have breakfast at Polly's at the Pier. Delicious. Rainbow Beach and Sand Castles at the Beach are both good places to enjoy some sun, sand and surf. All in all, you'll enjoy the island and you'll appreciate being centrally located in Pelican Cove."
