"Wow, what a great condo and location. My husband, daughter and son-in-law spent 11 nights at Gail's condo and what a great time we had. The condo was fantastic. The complex staff was friendly and helpful. But I can't talk enough about the view and the fabulous balcony. As others have said this is the best part of the condo and you will find yourself hanging out there and having your meals at every opportunity. The snorkeling on the tire reef just off shore is fantastic too. You will see many varieties of fish, spiny lobsters tucked into the tires and an occasional ray as well. The weather was perfect and the trade winds were blowing much of the time which keeps it from getting to warm. An important note from my perspective is Gail's condo is one of the few that don't have black bars going along the balcony which keeps the view spectacular and unobstructed which cannot be said for most of the condos in this complex, so rent Gail's condo if you want the best view and to be the closest to the water. You will not be disappointed. Thanks for the use of your condo Gail!"

  • New Year get away

"Beach front location, with a wonderful view. Very affordable condo with a short drive to Christiansted. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Didn't spend much time in the ocean while we were there as we had moderately high winds, although stil 80 degrees, so we spent time in the pool at the condo (which is protected from the wind) and played games on the veranda enjoying the view. For a winter get away we were very pleased, also our hosts' recommendation for eating out proved to be exceptional. Lentil curry soup, sushimi tuna and a main course of rack of lamb over cauliflower with wonderful wine on New Years Eve."

  • Perfect Place to Relax!

"This condo was such a blessing to us. We stayed for an amazing 12 days, June 18 to June 29th. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms were ideal for my wife, me, and our 13 year old son. Everything we could possibly need for our almost two week stay was right there. Being so close to the beautiful courtyard, pool, and the incredible ocean was simply perfect. My wife and I will certainly miss having coffee together every morning on the gallery watching the sun peak above the horizon. It was so great having the beach just steps away. Every day we went snorkeling in our back yard and saw many various species of sea life. We even saw a baby octopus on our first day. We also enjoyed walking down the beach to dine at Breezes. The food and staff were both incredible. We always felt relaxed, comfortable, and very safe. I must also say that we all enjoyed visiting with Nick the security guard as he made his frequent walks around the complex. He is an awesome guy with a huge smile and heart. Nick even brought a couple of ripe mangos from his own tree for us to enjoy. He was an absolute joy! Hopefully we can make it back to St. Croix someday, and if so I would not want to stay anywhere else except 101D, Colony Cove. It was AWESOME!"

Christiansted Travel Tips

Getting to Christiansted Vacation Rentals

Christiansted is one of the main towns on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was once the capital of the Danish West Indies and many of the historic landmarks reflect the colonial architecture of that era. Henry Rolston International Airport is one of the two major airports in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The airport hosts regularly scheduled direct flights with the U.S. mainland on several North American airlines. To cater to the European market, there are also direct commercial flights between St. Croix and several major European cities. There are also regular regional flights from neighboring islands including Puerto Rico, San Juan and St. Thomas.

Activities and Things to Do near Christiansted Resort Rentals

St. Croix is famous for its beautiful tropical coral reefs and abundant marine life. Divers can expect to see huge gorgonian fans, masses of tropical reef fish and enjoy pristine diving conditions. If you are happier on top of the water instead of underneath it, you can still enjoy the marvels of the reefs on various snorkeling excursions.

Kayaks and windsurfers are available for rent at many of the resorts and beaches. Kayaking is a great way to explore the coastline. If you want to improve your windsurfing skills, you can always sign up for a few classes at the local surf shop. Kite boarding is another popular activity along the coast.

Nature lovers can view some of the turtle nesting sites. There are several environmental groups that conduct studies on the turtles' nesting habits and they are always glad for volunteers who can assist with their monitoring and research.

For those that want a bit of pampering, there are several health spas that offer massage and a range of other beauty treatments. Some have treatment rooms overlooking the beautiful coastline where you can relax and enjoy your treatment.

There are three golf courses on St. Croix and tee-off times can be arranged by calling the golf club or resort. Several resorts have tennis courts where you can enjoy a game with a group of friends. Because the days can be quite hot, many of the courts are lit so you can enjoy an evening game when the temperatures are moderately cooler.

Travelers to Christiansted Villas

People that choose to stay at Christiansted vacation homes are those that enjoy stylish tropical vacations. It is a popular vacation destination for corporate executives looking for a break away from busy city life. Scuba divers are drawn to the pristine coral reefs and almost perfect diving conditions. Sun lovers come to soak up the sun’s rays on the beautiful sandy beaches. St. Croix is a destination that invites relaxation. It is also a wonderfully romantic destination and popular with honeymooners or couples celebrating special wedding anniversaries.

Best Season to USVI St. Croix Vacation Rentals

St. Croix has what some people refer to as a perpetual summer season. The tropical climate is consistently warm throughout the year with little seasonal variation. The only thing that distinguishes the seasons are the amounts of rainfall and humidity. While Christiansted can be visited year-round, the only season to be cautious of is the rainy season when tropical storms or hurricanes occur on occasion. This is between June and November, with most storms occurring in August and September. The island is well equipped to deal with hurricanes and has storm shelters. With the exception of tropical storms, rain showers do not generally last long. These showers usually occur in the early morning or evening, and are short-lived. The days, while humid, are still wonderfully sunny. The driest months are February and March and this is also the peak tourist season. Year-round, the water temperatures remain fairly constant, providing excellent diving and snorkeling conditions.
