  • Comfortable accommodations w/ 180 degree water view

"Spacious condo w/ great view of ocean and beach in front. No a/c, but constant breeze and ceiling fans kept things pretty comfortable. The gallery (large screened in porch) had a couple comfy sofas and a dining area, and it was a great spot to watch the ocean and sunsets. The screens could be opened for a clear view. Most days, ocean/beach out front and complex pool to ourselves. Snorkeling pretty good, but sometimes seas a bit choppy and entry to ocean involved finding a spot between rocks (recommend water shoes when entering ocean to keep from getting cuts on feet). Frederiksted is very quiet ... Most places only seem to open on cruise ship days (about 1 ship a week). Overall, complex quiet and well maintained, with key codes required for entry/ exit to ease security concerns. There are no elevators, so be prepared for a few flights of stairs when coming/going. While we were there, a bunch of locals used beaches on either side of condo for camping/partying (they erected tents) and Sunday was ATV race day on the street outside and speakers were hooked to power to blast loud music. Apparently, this was all part of Easter celebrations .. But not sure if there's any carryover to regular weekends. Christiansted definitely more populous, and more like US ... We preferred it where we were. Didn't check out much of north or east. Be aware that sandy point beach ("shawshank redemption") is only open weekends, has no facilities and closes completely when sea turtles start nesting in April/may or so. Overall, we enjoyed our trip and would stay here again."

  • A little piece of paradise

"A friend and I stayed here for nine days in Jan-Feb 2015, and we loved it. We chose Frederksted because snorkeling on the west end of the island isn't impeded by sea grass (which can be a problem elsewhere). And we chose this condo because it's right on the beach...literally steps from some great snorkeling and swimming! Plus it's a small complex, off the beaten path, very quiet and well maintained, with a beautiful pool from which you can watch the fabulous sunsets. But it's also not far from a variety of nice beaches, bars, good food, occasional live music (ie Reggae band), shops, and other small town amenities, as well as a large supermarket within driving distance. You can get by without a car, but we rented a jeep and felt it was worth the expense for shopping and checking out the rest of the island. Ours was a completely positive experience, but here are some things to consider when booking: the condo is on the 3rd floor (so has stairs), there's a spectacular view from the screened in veranda (but the proximity to the crashing surf means it's loud at night), and there's just one AC unit in the bedroom (but with the trade winds, we never actually needed it). Also, when they say "just bring your bikini" they mean it! We way overpacked. The condo has towels, shampoo/conditioner/soap, hair dryer, kitchen stuff, sugar, coffee, seasonings, some beach stuff, and more. No need to dress up, unless you want to. There's a washer/dryer/detergent on site. Bring your own mask and fins for snorkeling, tho. Wear sunscreen and hat! Our favorite day trip was on Captain Lew's catamaran for snorkeling and swimming on Buck Island (east side of the island). Lew and his "first mate" David are funny and laid back...not touristy at all. Lew is actually a musician, a cool cat who lived and recorded in New York years ago, and still plays local venues (currently at Cheeseburgers in Paradise). The snorkeling at Buck Island was good, but we saw essentially the same creatues right in front of our own condo, albeit in lesser numbers. Also, Lew let us shower at the yacht club after, so were desalinated enough to check out C'sted (Christiansed) before heading back to F'sted. Lew recommended lunch at Kim's (he's friends with the family), and it was good, authentic Caribbean food...I got the fresh local grouper. C'sted is more upscale and tourist oriented than F'sted, but both were nice in their own way, and local folks are friendly and helpful if you make the initial effort."

  • Island Perfection

"Start with an excellent greeting at the airport, add a well decorated and well equipped condo, a comfortable bed and a beautiful sea view and you have perfection. The west end of the island is easy to drive around and a great starting point for exploring the entire island. Good food and fun bars are plentiful in Frederiksted and the surrounding area - breakfast at Polly's is a great way to start the day. The condo has everything that a person could ask for and special touches like coffee to get you started the next morning. The people of St Croix will always have a special place in our heart - as will this condo!"

  • Awesome location and beautiful view!

"The location of this unit is great! The beach is just a few steps from the back door and the view from the unit is wonderful. We came to St. Croix to relax and that is what we did. We sat on the back porch morning and evening. We also had a couples massage right on the back porch while listening to the waves. The snorkeling right out in front of unit is the best we found! There are so many different types of fish that you feel like you are in an aquarium. We snorkeled for 3 hours one day and only stopped because of exhaustion. The unit is close to several local bar/restaurants and only a 30-40 minute drive from the north shore and Christiansted. The beach was a little busy on the day the cruise ship docked but still wasn't overly crowded. We agree with other reviewers that the unit needs some updates. The sliding door wouldn't lock. The bed could be more comfortable and the internet was really slow. The shower window needs to be replaced to decrease road noise. There was some mold in the shower but not horrible. We had no trouble with check in or check out. We would stay here again. The last night we were there, someone was staying in the unit beside us. It was kind of loud. I may not have enjoyed the stay as much if they had been there the whole time."
