  • Private Beach!

"This has to be one of the best deals in the Carribbean...The estate is beautiful, private beach, private cove, incredible views, large pool deck, Carribbean veranda. Staff is superb, clean rooms, gated driveway...super-friendly concierge, Deanna, can set up a chef, masseuse, reservations. Loved the trade-winds and the beautiful sunrise...wife and kids loved it too, snorkeling is exceptional"

  • A little piece of paradise

"A friend and I stayed here for nine days in Jan-Feb 2015, and we loved it. We chose Frederksted because snorkeling on the west end of the island isn't impeded by sea grass (which can be a problem elsewhere). And we chose this condo because it's right on the beach...literally steps from some great snorkeling and swimming! Plus it's a small complex, off the beaten path, very quiet and well maintained, with a beautiful pool from which you can watch the fabulous sunsets. But it's also not far from a variety of nice beaches, bars, good food, occasional live music (ie Reggae band), shops, and other small town amenities, as well as a large supermarket within driving distance. You can get by without a car, but we rented a jeep and felt it was worth the expense for shopping and checking out the rest of the island. Ours was a completely positive experience, but here are some things to consider when booking: the condo is on the 3rd floor (so has stairs), there's a spectacular view from the screened in veranda (but the proximity to the crashing surf means it's loud at night), and there's just one AC unit in the bedroom (but with the trade winds, we never actually needed it). Also, when they say "just bring your bikini" they mean it! We way overpacked. The condo has towels, shampoo/conditioner/soap, hair dryer, kitchen stuff, sugar, coffee, seasonings, some beach stuff, and more. No need to dress up, unless you want to. There's a washer/dryer/detergent on site. Bring your own mask and fins for snorkeling, tho. Wear sunscreen and hat! Our favorite day trip was on Captain Lew's catamaran for snorkeling and swimming on Buck Island (east side of the island). Lew and his "first mate" David are funny and laid back...not touristy at all. Lew is actually a musician, a cool cat who lived and recorded in New York years ago, and still plays local venues (currently at Cheeseburgers in Paradise). The snorkeling at Buck Island was good, but we saw essentially the same creatues right in front of our own condo, albeit in lesser numbers. Also, Lew let us shower at the yacht club after, so were desalinated enough to check out C'sted (Christiansed) before heading back to F'sted. Lew recommended lunch at Kim's (he's friends with the family), and it was good, authentic Caribbean food...I got the fresh local grouper. C'sted is more upscale and tourist oriented than F'sted, but both were nice in their own way, and local folks are friendly and helpful if you make the initial effort."

  • Toucan House

"Stayed at Toucan House March 2015 for a week. Very good place to stay in St Croix. Good quiet location with no security issues. Great layout for a two bedroom unit - the teenager's bedroom was well separated from ours! The pool (and everything else) was very clean and well maintained. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the beach but with a multitude of beaches, all public access and all with their own unique attraction with respect to snorkeling, body surfing, etc. I think the non beachfront location is an advantage. Very close to Point Udall and the hiking path to Isaac's Bay and plenty of nearby great places to eat, drink, and bask in the island pace of life. Everything from meeting at the airport (in spite of US Air costing us a day of vacation), orienting to the facility, and closing down at the end of the stay was handled superbly. I highly recommend Toucan House and would stay there again without hesitation."

  • Theater on the Beach Condo and Sugar Beach in St. Croix were amazing!

"My husband, 12 year old son and I recently spent Spring Break 2015 visiting the beautiful island of St. Croix while staying at The Theater on the Beach Condo located in the Sugar Beach Resort. This condo was everything the owner describes it to be on this site and more. It is well maintained and fully equipped with all you need to spend a truly relaxing time on St. Croix. The condo was extremely comfortable for us and could have easily accommodated 2 - 3 more guests quite comfortably as well. The trade winds off the beach were beautiful and the condo was roomy and spacious. The grounds of Sugar Beach are equally beautiful and very well maintained. The staff were all pleasant, courteous, professional and available. Only problem we had was finding the Sugar Beach Condo Resort. It's tucked away which makes it very quiet and peaceful but also a bit difficult to find when we first arrived on the island. Overall this was one of our most favorite vacations, and we vacation often! We plan to go back to Theater of the Beach and to St. Croix again in the future. Check it all out, you will not be disappointed."
