  • Perfect!

"Smugglers was the perfect house for anyone wanting to enjoy this island! Being on the east end was excellent because after exploring you could retreat to the quiet oasis and enjoy a swim. At first it seemed a little far but we ended up loving that it was private with a private beach... The view is spectacular from anywhere in the home. I found the house to be the highlight of our vacation. The set up of the home was ideal to include the landscaping, location, bedrooms, pool, deck, outside music, air conditioning for sleeping, all the extras (games) & on & on. We truly found relaxation on this trip because of that awesome view and lovely home! Thank you to the owners, well done...."

  • Well appointed ON the beach!

"This is a very nice property right on the beach. Located on the bottom level makes you right there on the beach, a prime location for us. The unit is well taken care of, comfortable with a cheery interior, awesome views and well appointed kitchen. There were beach chairs available in the unit as well as other beach and swimming accoutrements helpful to make for a great stay."

  • Comfortable and Roomy!

"This is a genuine family home that comfortably accommodated our family for the week of our special event. What a wonderful place to have my daughter's wedding dinner. Brilliant open-design circulated both fresh air and sociable people very well. The kitchen is well equipped; good sized fridge/freezer and plenty of storage for a week’s worth of food. The setting is quiet, with a beach nearby for a daily swim (or two) and the garden had some new local wildlife (a baby bird near the patio wall). The out-door rinse off was a good idea for us with all the time we spent in the salty water, and there is clothes line! This property could not have accommodated our needs any better. It was more than we had expected. We even enjoyed some authentic coconut / lime cocktails with extra thanks to local manager. It is a reasonable drive to area sights, and makes the best possible place to just chill out and relax."

  • A little piece of paradise

"A friend and I stayed here for nine days in Jan-Feb 2015, and we loved it. We chose Frederksted because snorkeling on the west end of the island isn't impeded by sea grass (which can be a problem elsewhere). And we chose this condo because it's right on the beach...literally steps from some great snorkeling and swimming! Plus it's a small complex, off the beaten path, very quiet and well maintained, with a beautiful pool from which you can watch the fabulous sunsets. But it's also not far from a variety of nice beaches, bars, good food, occasional live music (ie Reggae band), shops, and other small town amenities, as well as a large supermarket within driving distance. You can get by without a car, but we rented a jeep and felt it was worth the expense for shopping and checking out the rest of the island. Ours was a completely positive experience, but here are some things to consider when booking: the condo is on the 3rd floor (so has stairs), there's a spectacular view from the screened in veranda (but the proximity to the crashing surf means it's loud at night), and there's just one AC unit in the bedroom (but with the trade winds, we never actually needed it). Also, when they say "just bring your bikini" they mean it! We way overpacked. The condo has towels, shampoo/conditioner/soap, hair dryer, kitchen stuff, sugar, coffee, seasonings, some beach stuff, and more. No need to dress up, unless you want to. There's a washer/dryer/detergent on site. Bring your own mask and fins for snorkeling, tho. Wear sunscreen and hat! Our favorite day trip was on Captain Lew's catamaran for snorkeling and swimming on Buck Island (east side of the island). Lew and his "first mate" David are funny and laid back...not touristy at all. Lew is actually a musician, a cool cat who lived and recorded in New York years ago, and still plays local venues (currently at Cheeseburgers in Paradise). The snorkeling at Buck Island was good, but we saw essentially the same creatues right in front of our own condo, albeit in lesser numbers. Also, Lew let us shower at the yacht club after, so were desalinated enough to check out C'sted (Christiansed) before heading back to F'sted. Lew recommended lunch at Kim's (he's friends with the family), and it was good, authentic Caribbean food...I got the fresh local grouper. C'sted is more upscale and tourist oriented than F'sted, but both were nice in their own way, and local folks are friendly and helpful if you make the initial effort."
