  • Privacy and a Gorgeous View from the Deck

"You’re probably already sold on the beauty of St. John, so won’t belabor. We’re an empty nester couple and the Coral Bay side of the island is much more to our liking -- beautiful and quiet, and if you want noise and hustle bustle, it’s a short drive to Cruz Bay. We spent 10 days in the Treetop, and it was perfect for us. We wanted a full kitchen because, on our budget, we weren’t going to eat every meal out, and the Treetop kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The Wi-Fi works, to stay in touch with email, and stream your Netflix movies on your iPad. But we felt the biggest feature is definitely the deck with a spectacular view of Coral Bay. It’s particularly intriguing in the morning, you’re facing east and, as the sun rises, the water glistens. You’re going to have to climb a ladder stair to get to the loft where the bed is, but that didn’t prove to be a hindrance. Enjoy your stay."

  • Favorite home rental ever

"I was hesitant to rent this house since there were no recent reviews but wow-what a treat! The views are stunning from all 3 porches. The seclusion and privacy of the pool and hot tub were so romantic. The hike to the beach was beautiful and we were often the only ones out there. The outside spaces of the property make this house so special. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom for the best view out to the ocean. This home is well suited for up to 6 people. It was also stocked with games, novels, bird books, binoculars, ice chest, beach chairs and towels, plenty of kitchen gadgets and dishes, nice bath towels, washer and dryer, pool floats. It was not a bad drive (about 15 minutes) into Cruz Bay and there was also quick access to 104 to get to the other side of the island. There is an iguana that lives near the pool but we never did see him. The sounds of the ocean and birds were so relaxing to listen to at night. We were fortunate to be there at full moon and the reflections on the water at night were beautiful. The pool got full sun most of the day so was a nice temperature for swimming into the evening. We enjoyed having a separate table on the lower level in the shade for when the sun was out. The driveway was a little difficult to pull out of so definitely recommend a 4WD jeep. My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here but I hope to come back and bring my college age kids soon. I wouldn't recommend this property for someone who has difficulty walking due to the number of stairs. Other than that, absolutely loved this place! Even with a few houses to the right, with plenty of vegetation I still felt like it was a very private home."

  • adorable and romantic

"This was a true find!! We loved the cottage. The pictures don't do it justice! It was nicely decorated and comfortable. It had it's own little balcony off the back and the outside shower was great to rinse off all of our sandy beach toys. The pool overlooked the water and had an amazing view a long with the hot tub. We used the hot tub every night and swam in the pool. It was completely ours! Super private and beautiful. Margaret was helpful, friendly and made our stay there perfect. She had umbrellas, beach chairs, etc. for us to use. This is a perfect place for a couple. ! The Island was amazing and so were ALL the beaches. We found a little beach that had fantastic snorkeling. It was a little bay area. Not overly crowded and we snorkeled for hours. We saw huge rays and all sorts of different types of fish. Ask Margaret for her book about all the beaches. It will be helpful. We are ready to return to St. John and would stay there again!"

  • Lovely property, very convenient with awesome view

"I have been travelling to St. John for many years and Calicaribe is my absolute favorite place to stay. I will sometimes change the dates of my travel so I can stay here. Lovely, well maintained property, tastefully furnished and literally minutes from Cruz Bay and the Marketplace. The house has a wonderful pool for relaxing beside and dipping in after a day at the beach. Very reasonably priced as well. But the major asset of this property in my opinion are the views. Located on a hillside facing west, north/west the view includes Stevens Cay, Grass Cay, Mingo Cay, Two Brothers, Thatch Cay, Hans Lollik, all of Pillsbury Sound and, of course, parts of St. Thomas. Sunsets range from beautiful to truly spectacular. I wish I was there now! Highly recommended"
