  • Fabulous and memorable!

"We loved this charming cottage and it was perfect for our anniversary celebration week. The breezes kept the living space cool and comfortable. The artistic touches throughout the cottage are lovely and whimsical. The outdoor shower was great and we had everything we needed in the cottage to live comfortably. We especially enjoyed the outdoor deck and spent mornings and evenings enjoying the fabulous view of Coral Bay. We walked down to Aqua Bistro and Pickles several times. The walk back up the hill kept us in shape! Can't wait to return!"

  • Picture-perfect property in Coral Bay

"Our family of 5 had a great stay at Cindy & John's villa. The house is built with beautiful blue stone, with a porch overlooking Coral Bay, and a hot spa to soak and relax after a day of beach or hiking. The furnishing are not new but comfortable, and kitchen is well equipped, so we saved a fortune by cooking many of the meals. A rental vehicle (SUV best) is a must, and driving to everywhere (Cruz Bay, ~20 min, beaches, 20~30 min) is thrilling. The only thing is that bug bites are frequent when we forgot to apply bug repellent, but that's a given with a lush tropical island."

  • Peaceful St. John Retreat

"The St. John by the Bay cottage offers a great place to stay and explore St. John. There are great snorkeling sites all over the island, including the two private bays for the house and all are accessible from this cottage retreat, including Salt Pond Bay, Maho Bay and Waterlemon Bay just to name a few. The owner was great with following up and with suggestions on nearby sites and restaurants. Great extras were provided with the cottage, including a cooler, beach towels, a grill and extensive outdoor furniture. The view from the back porch is spectacular. Several good restaurants are close by, including Tourist Trap, Cafe Concordia, Miss Lucy's and Skinny Legs. We would definitely recommend this rental to our friends and relatives as a great place to stay in St. John."

  • Paradise

"This was our first trip to the Virgin Islands. We chose St. John and Waterlemon Villa! When we arrived at Waterlemon Villa, we were all blown away by the view; it was exactly what the pictures show. It didn't matter where you stood or where you sat, there was always a phenomenal view. The villa itself was beautiful! It had a very fresh and Caribbean feel to it - exactly what you would expect to find. The colors of blue that are used to accessorize the villa blend into the colors of the sky and the water. The kitchen was well furnished - we love to cook and were very pleased with all the cooking utensils and cookware. There was also a grill that we used - with a great view of course. The bedrooms were beautifully furnished, and bathrooms had hair dryers, plush towels, and the outdoor showers were amazing! The pool and pool area were also beautiful - again the view while in the pool was amazing! The drive up and down the mountain was always fun and somewhat of an adventure. The owner of the villa is a wonderful individual and great to work with as was the management company. If you are looking for a beautiful view and a beautiful house - this is the place for you! Oh, and the snorkeling.....FABULOUS!"

Coral Bay Travel Tips

Visitors to Coral Bay Vacation Rentals

Coral Bay of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands is arguably one of the most laid-back places on earth. With beautiful island views and a warm year-round tropical climate, you won’t be on the island very long before you are enjoying the slower pace of life. It’s a place people come to in order to escape the busy corporate and city life. Many even return and make this their permanent home.

Enjoy a Stylish Vacation at Coral Bay Villas

While the town may have the laid-back and rustic vibe, the villas in Coral Bay are anything but. Spacious, beautiful villas set up on the hilltops exude elegance and style. Huge open decks that look out across the bay and lush tropical gardens provide a slice of luxury in a pristine natural setting. Most are equipped with entertainment centers and a host of modern conveniences. Some also offer a housekeeping service which means you don’t even need to worry about catering meals or having to shop for groceries. You can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the island.

Best Time of Year to Visit Coral Bay Resorts

When the climate is tropical you can choose to visit any time of year. The days and nights are always warm and there is little difference between the seasons. The only time of year you need to be a little weary is late summer when tropical storms blow across the Caribbean. The summers have slightly higher humidity levels because it’s the rainy season. However, thundershowers are usually isolated and clear up quickly. In general, you can expect warm sunny days and balmy nights typical of a tropical island.

Things to See and Do in Coral Bay

Coral Bay has one of the most protected harbors in the Virgin Islands. Hurricane Harbor is an anchorage for numerous sailing vessels, some of whom are permanently docked in the bay. Located on the southeastern side of St. John, Coral Bay used to be the main commercial center on the island. When the ferry service was started to Cruz Bay on the other side of the island, much of the commerce and development of St. John shifted across there too. It’s not entirely a bad thing as now you can get to enjoy Coral Bay with all its rustic charm. It’s a close-knit community and in no time, you are made to feel at home.

There are a number of excellent restaurants where you can enjoy some local food. Most have quirky names; regardless if it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner you are looking for, it’s sure to be an experience. At the same time, you can catch up on the local gossip and experience what it's like to live in this island paradise, even if only for a short while.

The Emmaus Moravian Church is one of the town’s historical landmarks. It once stood on the grounds of the Caroline Estate plantation. For a leisurely afternoon out, head down to the harbor area and charter a yacht for a sunset cruise excursion. As the yacht sails around the coast, you can cool off by diving into the warm turquoise sea and return to a chilled cocktail on board. Snorkeling and diving excursions can also be arranged. If you want to explore a little, you can follow the winding roads that crest the hilltops and stretch out for miles along the coast. The only traffic jams you are likely to experience here are a few donkeys crossing the road.
