  • Tropical Escape

"We enjoyed the Villa very much. During our stay we enjoyed many beautiful views around this island. The view from the wrap around deck of the Villa is one of the best views on the island. Laurie was a great help and the owners had just been to the Villa working on various improvements. Both Laurie and the Owners were great to work with and both went out of there way to ensure the we had a good, comfortable and fun trip. The Villa is in great condition and has all of the amenities of home. The property surrounding the villa is absolutely beautiful, moderately quite and provides a feeling of safety. The Villa is a comfortable distance from the many amenities of Cruz Bay. I would highly recommend this Villa to friends and family."

  • Amazing rental, perfect location, outstanding service!

"We stayed at Captain's View for 14 glorious days in Feb 2015! This is our second visit to St. John, third rental, and we will never stay anywhere else from now on! This is it! We rented a Jeep at STT and got a bulk of our groceries before we left St. Thomas, but the location is so close to the center of town that you wouldn't need to. In fact, the tenants who stayed in the lower unit did not. Dolphin market is less than a 5 minute walk away. The location is close enough to town, yet far enough away from all the activity that it felt safe and it was surprisingly quiet! The unit was very well stocked from a large stock of towels, beach chair, flash lights, coolers, grill, ipod/iphone speaker hook up (we used pandora the whole time), and binoculars (which provided hours of harbor watching entertainment), and a perfectly timed mid-stay maid service. The two bedrooms were very spaceous and the a/c units were perfect! I had read other reivews that the a/c units weren't sufficent, but they actually worked great for us. The beds were firm and very comfy (my husband is a mattress stickler and he approved!). We ate breakfast and dinner on the covered porch everyday. We saved all our shopping bags and bagged the ice from the ice maker, packed fresh fruit, sandwiches, snacks, and beers in the cooler for a full day of adventures everyday. When we returned to Captain's View, we turned on the a/c in the bedrooms, jumped in the pool, and enjoyed cooking in the open kitchen (didn't feel secluded from the rest), grilling and dining with a fantastic view on the covered patio. Lastly, the service was outstanding! There was a window that didn't shut and I wanted to inform them in the beginning so they didn't think we broke it, and the next day they were ready to send someone out. We had a couple old broken beach chairs and they replaced them the next morning. Lastly, we forgot a phone at the house and the next day, they emailed to say they found it and were going to send it. Supurb!"

  • Just the best!

"We have just returned from a week in the VI and BVI, and had the vacation of a lifetime. We began our vacation with a 3 night stay at Ylang Ylang, and it couldn't have been a more perfect start to our trip. We'd never been to the VI before, and were a little unsure about location, driving (wrong side of the road :)), and so forth. The villa is well appointed, with a complete kitchen, wonderful pool/patio/balcony, and the most gorgeous view! Waking up to that view each morning, and having coffee outside was such a treat - such a peaceful place to relax. The inside and outside are very well maintained, and the housekeeper and property care taker are both extremely pleasant and helpful. The owner provided a lot of great information at the time of booking, and also checked in with us to make sure our stay was going well. The villa is in an excellent location, and we were able to walk to Cruz Bay each day. We hiked the VI National Park trails, which are also within easy walking distance from the villa, and hiked to Solomon Beach, Honeymoon Beach, and on to Caneel Bay Resort for lunch one day. We had the best sushi there - Geisha Roll! We hiked back up the trail to Cruz Bay, and then would either walk back to the villa or take a taxi. It's a steep uphill to go home, but a great workout! In the evenings we would walk back to Cruz Bay for dinner - must try The Lime Inn - and then would take a taxi back to the villa at night. We will definitely recommend this villa to our friends, and look forward to going to back to Ylang Ylang with our family in the future. Enjoy!"

"Grande Bay is a great resort to stay in... It is very close to the heart of Cruz Bay and walking distance to almost everything.. except the beaches! Accommodations were clean and comfortable and amenities left for renters to use is very convenient as well. Looking forward to my next visit!"
