Best sunset on the island
"First trip to St John wanted to be close to town but have privacy. This perfectly designed house fit the bill. A very short walk to the middle of town, but far enough outside to be quiet and peaceful. Looks like it's right on a street, but is far enough up the hill to barely notice the few cars we saw while there. Nice to be right across from Gallows Point resort, easy access to excellent restaurant, little shop if you run out of necessities (wine, etc.) and a place to rent snorkeling gear, etc. Nicely, simply appointed. Great kitchen and seating areas in and out. Perfect rental for two couples. Can't wait to go back."

"Our family of 5 just returned from St. John and we're all missing the beautiful views from the Stowaway decks. The kids loved the loft and spent a lot of evening hours playing the board games provided and watching the the pair of falcons that were roosting in the upper deck. We always travel light with carry on luggage, so the stocked toiletries and supplies were fabulous. We also cooked a few meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. We will definitely revisit Stowaway if our travels bring us back to St. John! Thanks so much for all the helpful information when we were planning our trip!"

Comfortable Getaway Condo Walking Distance to Cruz Bay
"This was our first time to St. John and the location of the condo could not be beat. While we rented a Jeep to get around the island, we didn't need it to go into town. Parking at the condo was easy and convenient. The condo (we had the one bedroom with full kitchen) was a great amount of space and we appreciated the in-condo accessibility of the washer/dryer. The staff meets you at the ferry dock and walks you over to check you in. The whole process was very easy and we would definitely recommend it as a place to stay."

"We stayed at the fantastic Riley’s Retreat July 2015, with a total of 8 in our party -- 2 adults and 6 children (12-20 years old). This beautiful villa is the perfect vacation home for families with children. The owners were so gracious and accommodating, answering our many questions about the house and things to do -- down to the smallest detail, like which supermarkets to go to on the island. The house was super comfortable, beautifully appointed and had literally everything we needed for our week’s stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, spices, platters, toaster, coffee maker -- everything we needed to prepare meals for our party of 8. We enjoyed wonderful days at the various beautiful beaches around the island and some nice hiking. After our long, fun days, we retreated back to the villa to enjoy the deck with its scenic views, lovely sunsets, beautiful pool, hot tub and pool table. The villa’s caretaker, Austin, was so pleasant and was there if we had any questions. Austin’s restaurant/bar in Cruz Bay (Castaway’s) was great for delicious burgers (try the donut burger!) and drinks for the adults – all at a reasonable prices. We weren’t sure about the villa being located only 1.5 miles from Cruz Bay, but this worked out great for us and proved to be very convenient for dining, shopping and supermarket runs. We read a few reviews prior to arrival about traffic noise from Centerline Ave. and roosters. We barely heard any street noise (the home is on a hillside), and the roosters didn’t wake us (we heard roosters all around the island). The common areas were cooled by nice breeze from the windows and ceiling fans, which were also in the bedrooms, although we did turn on the A/C in the bedrooms for sleeping. We were never hot in the home even though it was the middle of July. We had a wonderful and easy experience and would highly recommend Riley’s Retreat. We would definitely stay at Riley’s Retreat again in the future."
