  • Convenient Location with Spectacular View

"We just came home from a week at Heavenly Villa and I'm ready to return! Booking was easy. I communicated directly with the owner and payment was easily made through PayPal, which I always appreciate because of the buyer protection. The villa sits at the top, and I mean top, of a hill overlooking several bays including Cruz Bay. The views at all times of the day or night are beyond description. The pictures are accurate! The villa itself is simply furnished, but has EVERYTHING you will need, including several beach towels, beach chairs, even snorkel fins. The villa was very clean upon our arrival. The kitchen is fully equipped (including a new dishwasher) but who wants to cook? You are within a short drive to Cruz Bay and there are several restaurants recommended in the owner's guide in the villa. I think we tried them all and were never disappointed. Crandall on St. John handles all the arrangements and I cannot speak more highly of them. They communicated with us and made easy arrangements to meet us at the ferry dock. The Internet was down when we first arrived and I called them. They tracked the problem down to an Internet outage on the entire end of the island, and let us know so we at least knew it wasn't our equipment. We were also there to experience Tropical Storm Bertha and they checked on us both before and after and assisted with moving porch furniture and undoing the storm shutters. They also called to alert us to a temporary power outage prior to the event. If you have a Verizon cell phone, I would suggest leaving it at home and making arrangements to get a pre-paid AT&T phone. Verizon coverage was spotty at best and the roaming charges add up in a hurry. The WiFi was great for data downloads though. One last thing about Crandall...they made arrangements for our Jeep rental with Best Car Rental...we got a great rate and they let you park there in the evenings if you are getting dinner in town...a short walk down the hill. We've been to St. John four times now and we have yet to visit all of the beaches. If you dive, Low Key Watersports is a great operator. Good rental equipment, excellent guided dives in fairly shallow water so you will get lots of bottom time. I would recommend driving to Caneel Bay. They will allow you to park for $20, but if you spend $20 on the property it's waived. Walk to Honeymoon Bay where you can rent beach chairs, etc... Have lunch on the main property if you don't mind paying $30 for a salad:)."

  • If You Could Only Bottle This Breeze

"I am sadly writing this on the drive back to Connecticut. Bay House was truly lovely. It was our 3rd time visiting St John and first time renting this particular villa. The view of Coral Bay is arresting and you have opportunities throughout the villa to experience it from the balconies. The rooms are painted blue and white - very soothing. The beds were quite comfy and we arrived to beautifully arranged linen in both rooms, fresh flowers in the kitchen window and on the dining table. The kitchen was well-appointed with everything you need, including a grill right on the deck. I love tiled flooring and the villa is tiled throughout. Our 3- and 6-year old sons loved coming back from the beach to play in the pool, play the checkers set that was there, and looking out for goats! Pristine beaches were a cool 20 minutes drive away - our faves are Maho, Jumbie, and a worthwhile trail hike to Leinester. Right at the bottom of the villa is the Crabby Shack where my hubby was able to rent a kayak and take our 6-year old out for $30 for 2 hours. Excellent experience. Then 6-minutes from the villa is Carolina's Corral where I was able to take our 3-year old for a 45-minute donkey ride for $25 - he was ecstatic! Fave restaurant in Coral Bay is Miss Lucy's - 15 minutes up on the same main road as the villa. Faves in Cruz Bay - Across the Street ( wonderful fish tacos and onion rings & drinks!!) and Ocean Grill in Mongoose Grill - wonderful everything!! The most beautiful part of our weeklong stay at Bay House was the incomparable sea breeze we got - we never used the AC. Between the view and the breeze - it was divine. Terry, the property manager was gracious and patient as we endured a 2-hour Budget rental car fiasco and met us when we eventually got to our meet up point for her to guide us to the villa. She was the tight balance of attentive and responsive without being intrusive. Thank you!!"

  • Genuine Caribbean Wow!

"My travels have taken me all over the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Pacific islands and more and years ago my fiance and I, upon discovering the magic solitude of St John, fell in love with this place. Over most any place we have ever been, St John inspired us most. Having said that, Il Delfini completely captures the vibe, beauty and solitude that is the draw of this island. It is eight minutes from the ferry dock, but also a million miles away, as standing on the deck looking south, you could swear you have the entire bay to yourself. If a view is important to you, then know that the view afforded by this comfortable gem is one that many people would and do pay tens of thousands of dollars for, as it is nothing short of breathtaking. The amenities provided are top notch along with the sincere hospitality and genuine friendliness of it's owners. If you are coming to St John, first of all you have made the right choice. If you are looking for a place to stay that will deliver everything this wonderful place is known for, then look no further than Il Delfini. Enjoy you stay as we did!"

  • Another amazing visit to Stone Harbor Cottage

"This was my second vistit and I cant wait to return. The house has everything just add food and beverage. The new deck and pool are so nice, its a short walk to groceries, dining live music. The views of the bay sunrise and sunsets are truly wonderful. If you want to get away from the crowds take hwy 10 to the Hallover Beach or Vies for a snack and access a private beach for $2.50 each. We also liked Watermellon Cay and Francis beach to avoid too many people. That being said the Northshore is amazing and you have to see it. We also enjoyed a trip to Virgin Gorda the baths, Cooper & Norman Islands with a memorable stop at Jost Van Dyke's One Love and Soggy Dollar bar. So many options, dont try to do everything, your on island time it does not get any better than this. It also makes a wonderful place to take your beautiful girl friend and ask her to marry you, I proposed to Dana at A-so-Lare overlooking Cruz Bay on the 7th church bell, we may just be bacxk for a honeymoon soon..."
