"Location near Cruz Bay was excellent as was the view from the deck. Accommations are more than adequate and the house was well stocked with the necessary ammenities including chairs, coolers and some snorkeling equipment. This enabled us to explore the island (particularly for paddleboarding and snorkeling) from this excellent home base and quickly get to Cruz Bay for dinners and shopping. The party ranged from 5 to 68 years and, accordingly, I would recommend it for many different groups except for tourists without cars."

"This cottage is tucked away behind some tall trees uphill from Fish Bay and so it is very relaxing and quiet. The cottage had everything we needed and could have wanted. It is so nice that the hosts provided beach chairs, an ice chest and noodles to take to the beaches. If you stay here, you may want to consider renting a car on St. Thomas, purchasing bulk items at the Tutu mall or Food Center on St. Thomas and taking the car ferry over. The Starfish market on St. John, which is along the road to the cottage, also has a fine selection of food. After spending the day at the beach or hiking, happy hour at Joe's Rum Bar or another place in Cruz Bay or in Coral Bay, driving out to the cottage (10 minutes or so from Cruz Bay) and coming home to such a comfortable, quiet place is the perfect ending to a perfect day! And then, be sure to spend some time on the patio star gazing. We don't think we have ever seen so many stars. Truly amazing!!!"

"We arrived after the holidays for wind down time. Calypso was perfect. The water is literally 50 feet from the bedroom. The master bedroom and the living space are on upper level to take advantage of views and breeze. The sound of the surf was wonderful white noise all the time. The beach is definitely not swimmable easily, there are lots of big rocks and its really shallow. But there are sea kayaks there and we enjoyed exploring the bay and nearby beach at Reef Bay. The kitchen and bath upstairs seem brand new, and had everything we needed to cook the few meals we ate at home. The pool is small, but still great for a dip after the beach, or our occasional "lazy day". The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are on the lower floor, and their are outside steps, so you should be aware with small children. But our teens loved having their own space and privacy, so it was perfect for us. The decor is beachside cottage, as it should be, and was very attractive.
House is about 5 minute drive to Cruz Bay to restaurants and the beaches are close as well. Our kids enjoyed exploring Fish Bay and returning with conch shells found on the beach and all kinds of treasure. Destination St John was great to work with, met us at the dock and responded immediately to minor plumbing issue we had.
All in all it was a perfect week, would definitely return, with or without the kids!"

"We highly recommend IDelfini for a relaxing and very quiet and private stay on St. John. We knew most of the great beaches are not right there near fish bay (but great view), so we reserved/rented a jeep (all tolled $593/week) and went to a different beach each day to snorkel or take a hike (reef bay and Ram head) The beauty of St. John is being able to choose a different great beach every day for weeks. Katha and Vezio are awesome hosts and the apartment was very clean, updated and equipped. Vezio picked us up at the passenger dock at 10:30pm when we arrived and still gave us a quick tour. Katha gave us another briefing on things to do and delivered us to the rental car agency the next day. More like friends than landlords. You could hear occasional footsteps from above, but otherwise being under their home was no problem. Other things we liked: use of beach chairs, teak interior doors/trim, Virgin island travel books, lots of fans, big deck with lounge chairs, open, well ventilated space, close parking, water filter jug in fridge, open shower, and as much privacy as we wanted. If you want a beachfront or place right in town, this is not it. If you want to enjoy the serenity of St. John with a beautiful view, island foliage, close access and comfortable privacy, IDelfini is your place."
