"First trip to St John wanted to be close to town but have privacy. This perfectly designed house fit the bill. A very short walk to the middle of town, but far enough outside to be quiet and peaceful. Looks like it's right on a street, but is far enough up the hill to barely notice the few cars we saw while there. Nice to be right across from Gallows Point resort, easy access to excellent restaurant, little shop if you run out of necessities (wine, etc.) and a place to rent snorkeling gear, etc. Nicely, simply appointed. Great kitchen and seating areas in and out. Perfect rental for two couples. Can't wait to go back."

"The studio was just what we needed for our stay in Cruz Bay. It was clean, well-designed , and had a wonderful smell to it...sounds bizarre but it was really a most pleasant smell. The unit had everything we needed -- the kitchenette had a small fridge, coffee maker, plates, glasses, etc., the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. The description and pictures were very accurate. The view from the terrace is lovely. The reserved parking spot was taken by the occupants of the one-bedroom unit but we were able to find a free unassigned spot for the night -- for longer stays you might want to make sure you have a spot as parking in Cruz Bay can be a challenge.
On all our previous trips to St. John we have just stayed in Cruz Bay but on this trip we decided to spend most of the trip staying out on the East End (in or near Coral Bay). At the end, though, we needed our Cruz Bay "fix" and we had wanted to try Grande Bay so this place was perfect. We walked to dinner at a great new restaurant in Cruz Bay called Extra Virgin, and then the next day to shops for some souvenirs.
It was very quick and easy working with Kevin on the reservation which we really appreciated. We will definitely consider staying there again when we return to St. John."

"My husband and I went to Andante for a belated honeymoon. We can't say enough about the beautiful views of the turquoise ocean and the island's mountains! We had tea every morning to the sounds of the surf below, and chose to eat both in and out. We slept like babies on the comfortable king size bed in the master bedroom, and opened the sliding glass door to catch the ocean breeze all night long. We enjoyed time by the pool and hot tub, and even watched a few movies on the Villa's cable T.V.s while vacationing. We toured the island beaches, got wonderful tans, and sipped on sweet mixed drinks while the sun was setting. We went horseback riding, and enjoyed other activities on the island, and always came home to the sweet villa for rest. We would recommend Andante to anyone seeking to stay on St. John!"

"This was a very nice house to stay in. FYI: this was my 6th trip to St. John and we've stayed in a different place each time. This trip, we stayed with another couple. Our friends stayed in the "better" suite with the double doors to the veranda. Very cute room, and the pictures make it look very lovely. It is, but... the curtains needed to be shut all the time because someone lives downstairs and there was construction happening on the sidewalks around the place. There were people walking around often enough to mandate closed curtains and loss of the sunny room. There were no curtains on the bathroom so my friend had to tape a garbage bag up. (though someone did come and hang some curtains one day when we were out). The other bedroom was okay. Someone else complained that the bathroom needed updating. Either it had been or I thought it was fine. I do understand that updates don't happen in the VI like we are accustomed to in the states because material and labor cost so much there, so maybe I'm just more understanding. That being said, the peeling paint on the jaccuzi deck REALLY does need to be re-done. It's just bad. Also, we were told that the jacuzzi heats on a timer, but it was never (never) warm enough for us to use. The living areas are beautiful. The location is great as it is a very easy and quick drive into town, the roads/driveway is good."
