  • Our favorite place

"We have been to St. John 20 times and for the last 8 years we have stayed at Haiku. The house is well designed and well maintained. The views are nice, it is private and very well located and convenient to town. It suits us perfectly whether there are just the two of us or we have a houseful of children and grandchildren. The open plan creates a lot of living space. We have booked our next visit."

  • Wow

"I can only agree with all of the positive posts before me. We are here now and wanted to post before I get home to the rat race and not have the time. Clean, comfy and all the amenities you could wish for. We did hear some music on Saturday night till about midnight (electric guitar) but that will happen when you are so close to everything. Quiet all the other nights. Just the waves.... Quiet peaceful watching boats coming in and out of the bay. Breakfast on terrace every morning. Great deli (Sam and jacks) to get lunch to pack for the beach. The beach food I would not recommend, pricey and crummy. Jacks was pricey and worth it. Loved rhumb lines, tapas, lime inn and trying de-coal pot tonight for some real carribbean food (hubby's choice, he wants goat....😳) Painkiller at beach bar a few steps away for happy hour 3 to 7. Anna and Lori were great to deal with. I appreciated the little extras that they leave probably from previous guests. Some paper cups, salt and pepper, sugar..the kind of things that is frustrating to buy for a few days and know it will be discarded. I love common sense. They are selling timeshares here but with a great rental like this one I can't see why? Thank you Anna!"

  • Slice of Paradise

"My husband and two grown children stayed at Gin-De-Mar in February 2015. It is slice of paradise like no other. We spent the week enjoying the fabulous house, pool and hot tub with views of Hanson Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Our time was spent relaxing at the house, cooking in the fully equipped kitchen then taking our meals in the outdoor covered dining area. When we didn't eat in there several restaurants close by such as the Indigo Grill and Shipwreck. When not at home time was spent visiting the island's attractions especially the many snorkeling areas (which in our opinion can't be beat). We highly recommend Gin-De- Mar."

  • Paradise

"My husband and I recently stayed at Sun's Kiss for a week. We definitely agree with the other reviews about spectacular views, spacious apartment, great location, etc. In addition the landscape has beautiful tropical plants and flowers along with a water feature on the stone steps from the deck down to where you can park your car. One of my favorite things to do was to walk down to the water feature in the early morning. That is when many birds are coming there for much needed drinks of water. Antillean crested hummingbirds will dart by and sometimes hover close to you. You can get a great close up view and see the brilliant colors in their crests if the lighting is just right. Along with the hummingbirds there are banana-quits and Lesser Antillean bull finches. We were also lucky to have a mating pair of kestrels (sparrow hawks) that would hang out in a nearby tree. I especially loved the empty coconut shell hanging by our door that would miraculously be filled with flowers every morning. Gary is such a thoughtful host and I also enjoyed spending time with his mother, Charlette. We look forward to staying there whenever we return to St. John."
