"Our first trip to St. John was simply AWESOME, and made much more so by our stay at Drake's View. Aptly named, the views from this magnificent home tucked into the side of Bordeaux Mountain were spectacular, and the plush accommodations and private surroundings of this incredible find were more than we expected.
From the island's various hiking trails, numerous choices of aquamarine bays with beautiful beaches and incredible snorkeling...to Drake's View's fabulous landscaped pool and hot tub, spacious living environment, and sleeping to the open-windowed breezes off Coral Bay, this was truly "a little bit of paradise".
For family gatherings, groups of friends, Drake's View and St. John has it all. We would return in a heartbeat, and very much look forward to planning our next trip down."

"We really enjoyed our time at this house.
Great property managers
Well stocked with beach items
That drive up to the house gets a little old
No television (only an issue if weather stinks)
Overall we really liked the house. The drive is a bit intimidating the first time, but once you do it once or twice and feel confident your vehicle can make it, it's not too bad. It does get a little old though because it is not a quick drive and is quite rough. You will absolutely need 4WD to make it. The neighbors down the hill could be heard on occasion. Music from Indigo restaurant could be heard Saturday night, but was over by 12am or so. Could have a little better furniture indoors, but the sectional on the deck was great. Access to laundry would be nice, especially for beach towels and bath towels, after a few days, they need washed. Loved all the travel guides/books available, I used them every day.
This is definitely for those that want to be off the beaten path and away from it all. But, Coral Bay has several restaurants only a few minutes away, making it a great location. The property managers Cathy and Clark were great and stopped in to check on us a couple of times."

"My husband and I were ready for a much needed vacation. We are great "trip-takers," but a relaxing vacation is not our typical way to travel...although after this lovely get-away, it may be more often! I was looking for a great view, a unique spot, a large room to be able to settle into and enjoy, a pool for after the beach, a kitchenette for food & drinks so that we didn't have to go out for each meal. The White Seagull was perfect. I wasn't too enticed by the decor upon my first research, but found out later from the lovely Jacqueline that much of the decor is family heirlooms. The antiques and flair gave the room that much more warmth. Also, although Jacqueline lives on the property, we only saw her twice. She was so welcoming and genuinely happy to share her space, but we almost felt like we were the only ones there - very private. We went from bay to bay each day snorkeling, swimming with turtles and enjoying the beautiful water. We went out twice with Ocean Runner Boat Rentals, and had a wonderful time! Hung out a lot at the High Tide too - tasty food and good service. Also the X Bar for a cozy place away. More bays to enjoy, fish to swim with, and blue waters sooth the soul. We'll be back!"

"Southern Serenity was everything that was advertised. We were a group of family and friends and found the unit with everything we could ask for including the coolers for beach runs, beach towels, chairs and snorkeling gear in the locker. The quality of the Kitchen, dishes, silverware, etc were beyond expectations and the view from the balcony brought a smile to our face each morning and at sunset. The ability for each of us to walk into town, go to the beach, read a book on the balcony, or hit the Beach Bar for a pop or lunch kept everyone happy and feeling free. While they did have to do maintenance on the pool while we were there, the management arranged for us to use the pool at the Gallows, a short walk up the hill. We would highly recommend this unit to anyone visiting St.John and wanting to stay in the Cruz Bay area."
