"This was our third year at Jumbie, and like the previous two, we so loved the villa. It's bright, airy, and well-provisioned, making anyone's stay easy. As daily beach and hike-goers, we prefer eating at home most evenings and enjoying the pool and porch that overlook Coral Bay! The fully-equiped kitchen makes "at home" entertaining easy. We look forward to another Villa Jumbie experience in the future."

"This was a very nice house to stay in. FYI: this was my 6th trip to St. John and we've stayed in a different place each time. This trip, we stayed with another couple. Our friends stayed in the "better" suite with the double doors to the veranda. Very cute room, and the pictures make it look very lovely. It is, but... the curtains needed to be shut all the time because someone lives downstairs and there was construction happening on the sidewalks around the place. There were people walking around often enough to mandate closed curtains and loss of the sunny room. There were no curtains on the bathroom so my friend had to tape a garbage bag up. (though someone did come and hang some curtains one day when we were out). The other bedroom was okay. Someone else complained that the bathroom needed updating. Either it had been or I thought it was fine. I do understand that updates don't happen in the VI like we are accustomed to in the states because material and labor cost so much there, so maybe I'm just more understanding. That being said, the peeling paint on the jaccuzi deck REALLY does need to be re-done. It's just bad. Also, we were told that the jacuzzi heats on a timer, but it was never (never) warm enough for us to use. The living areas are beautiful. The location is great as it is a very easy and quick drive into town, the roads/driveway is good."

"We spent a week at White Cottage in August 2015. The home is in a great area, about a 10 minute drive to town. We were happy to have a private pool and lovely terrace to relax on. We found the kitchen to be well stocked and the home had plenty of beach towels for us to use, as well as beach chairs and coolers, which was a nice touch. It would benefit from more seating around the kitchen table and the living room area as there was not enough for our entire group at once. Fortunately, we spent much of our time on the terrace outside so it wasn't a big issue. We initially could not log into the Wi-Fi, but that was quickly resolved and we had no problem with the Wi-Fi after that.
We had 5 adults and 2 teens in our group, so we used all the bedrooms. I think we all enjoyed having our own private space to retreat to at the end of our action packed days. If you have young children you need to know that except for the main bedroom, adjacent to the kitchen space, you must go outside to get to the bedrooms and use an outside staircase to access the ones downstairs. The bedroom adjacent to the living space is the largest with a sitting area. As another reviewer mentioned, the morning sun is strong. Take a sleeping mask if you plan to sleep-in.
When we visited St John, the island was in a severe drought, so we were instructed on arrival to take very short (1-2 minute) showers and not to flush the toilets unless necessary, etc. This was unexpected, but we did as asked but still "ran out" of water the night before we left which was inconvenient. We were not told this could happen. I understand the entire island has these restrictions and they have water delivered to fill up the reservoirs under the homes. Anyone travelling to St John should know that these water restrictions are in place."

"This is the second time we have stayed in this home and again it was excellent! The house is set up wonderfully. We love how the bedrooms are seperate from the main house so if someone gets up early they don't disturb the others. Or if you want to stay up late others won't be disturbed. We love being able to cook and everything we needed in the kitchen was there. Also what we needed for the beach (chairs, coolers, towels). The view is amazing! We would sit and just get lost in it. We will be back for sure."
