  • A Wonderful Stay!!!

"My sister and I stayed in SeaSwan back in May for a girls getaway. The place was beautiful, and convenient to Cruz Bay, it had everything you need for a day at the beach!! Paul was so kind to help my friends that traveled with us find their Villa and make sure they did not get lost, you cant find that kind of hospitality any where else!! The views from the apartment are some of the best on the island, and great for relaxing and enjoying the sunsets. I cant say enough great things about this place, and when I plan to make a trip back to St. John, I will for sure stay at SeaSwan!!!"

  • Breathtaking views from this Coral Bay villa

"The road leading up to Villa Tiffany is ridiculous- A Jeep is absolutely required. That being said-it's the price paid for a seriously spectacular view! We stayed over the Christmas holiday. J.Miller met us at the Jeep rental company in Cruz Bay, and led us to the villa. He was very professional throughout the booking process and for the duration of our stay. The villa was very clean and updated. Beds were comfortable. Laundry room was stocked with detergent- it came in handy throughout the week. Pool and hot tub offered great views of Coral Bay. We spent our days exploring many fantastic beaches, however, so they remained unused. Villa was equipped with ample bath/beach towels, beach chairs and coolers. The kitchen was well-stocked and we were provided w/ some spices, dish soap and sugar for coffee. Be sure to buy your groceries in Cruz Bay at the Starfish market-it is expensive, but offers the best selection on the entire island. There are a couple of tiny markets in Coral Bay, but they are extremely pricey and don't have much to offer. Our goal for this trip was to RELAX and enjoy the beaches. Mission accomplished! We packed a picnic lunch each morning, and then headed out to a different beach every day. Jumbie Bay (next to Trunk Bay) was our favorite. A short hike to the beach, and very few people. You have to arrive early (before 10) to secure one of the few parking spots. Sand is beautiful here and the snorkeling is great-We liked it better than Trunk Bay. Rent your snorkel gear from Crabby's in Coral Bay. Salt Pond bay (on the south east side of the island) is close to the villa and our second favorite spot. Miss Lucy's is on the way back home, and offers a delicious grouper reuben and painkiller cocktail for an early dinner. Cinnamon Bay beach is gorgeous. Leinster Bay (and Watermelon Cay) offered the best snorkeling, but the beach area is really rocky so wear something on your feet and bring bug spray. The Popular Skinny Legs is also in Coral Bay-great family friendly bar that also has a couple of small little shops to pick up a vacation t shirt. We didn't think the food was that great, but did stop for drinks a couple of times. Worth noting- 2 bedrooms are only accessible from outside the villa. Good to know if you have younger kids. Overall, very happy with the villa and had a wonderful trip. Yes, you will see lizards here and there and a few bugs, but remember that you are in the tropics and take it in stride!"

  • Better Than Our Dreams

"What we read about in the description and reviews and saw in pics when choosing to book this property proved to be accurate, although in reality not fully representative of our experience, which turned out to be far better than our expectations. When you first see the panoramic view of the islands and sea from this mountain side, it takes your breath away. And the great thing is that the thrill of that view never diminishes because it is ever changing in some way, and you get a slightly different perspective from the deck, or the living area, the bedroom, and even the shower. The living space is immaculate, nicely furnished, and a very comfortable bed invites restful sleep, etc. Plus there are so many special touches such as fresh flowers, original art, refreshments and treats upon arrival that make this a wonderfully welcoming place. We been to St. John 7 or 8 times now, and have always preferred staying on the Coral Bay end of the island, but this spot on the mountain above Coral Bay was not only the most beautiful and comfortable of the accommodations that we've had, but turned out really to be the most convenient for getting to all the beaches where we wanted to snorkel, and to the nice mix of restaurants that are there. After our first trip up the mountain road led by our host, we soon realized that we made the right choice. Our host and hostess, who are the property owners and were in the upstairs section, surely must be counted among the most gracious, knowledgeable, helpful, and interesting folk that you could ever hope to meet. While careful to always respect our privacy and solitude, they were quick to respond to any of our requests and questions. And when a couple of unexpected medical issues developed for us, it was especially reassuring to have their support and suggestions which salvaged what would otherwise have been frustrating and disappointing intrusions into our days in paradise. All in all, our experience in this special place was better than we could have dreamed it could be, and fond memories of it will fill our actual dreams for many days and night to come."

  • Already Budgeting for Next Year

"I really hate to start our with a complaint, but where was music from Cases by the Sea? Other than not getting some good Reggae music from the locals, everything was perfect. Clark and Cathy were on vacation during our stay and Jenae and Willis took care of us during our stay. It's going to be hard for Clark and Cathy to beat out their hospitality next year. They checked on us several time to make sure our stay was perfect, which meant a lot. The driveway there, I guess there are times you may need a 4WD but I stopped using it after my 2nd trip up. Definitely want to rent a Jeep but it's really not too bad. Many properties on St John with triple the price tag have much scarier driveways than this road. It's just what comes with vacationing on The Rock. The house temperature was very cool, I got a little chilly is the mornings. No mosquitoes inside and really none outside on the deck. The last 2 days there was a mosquito outbreak on the island (read on Tripadvisor about after heavy rains) due to the rains a week earlier and it never got to bad to finish off the night on the deck. We did use bug spray but much more so on the beaches during our last couple days. The property had everything we needed. Great beach towels, chairs, coolers, grill, ect. (we actually ate out most meals due to the cost of groceries and since it was only 2 of us, it made sense financially) We brought spices and everything but Coral Bay has some really good and decently priced food. Just don't run up a bar tab and you'll be fine. We got several lunches from Pickles deli to take to the beach and had breakfast there a couple times as well. Island Oasis is about as cheap of a place as you will find for a dinner and huge portions that are equally as delicious. You must have the Ponzu Tuna from Aqua Bistro, served only on Friday nights so budget that in your plans and be sure to make a fairly early reservation so they don't run out. Ship Wreck Landing is also a great spot for lunch or dinner and it's a scenic 3 minutes from you. Also, Lucy's is a great place to eat directly on the water. The places mentioned are minutes from the bottom of your almost private mountain. Rent this house if you want to get away from it all but still be in the middle of all the great beaches and eateries. Granted, you will want to make a couple happy hours in Cruz Bay but it's only a 25 minute commute that has breathtaking views a long the way. Just don't book the dates we want before us!"
