  • Romantic! Amazing views!

"We stayed here for six days and it was pretty great. We walked to Skinny Legs, enjoyed nature's wake up calls in the form of roosters, donkeys and goats - who would walk along the side of the house. There is a lovely patio, a kitchen with a large refrigerator and it's in a good location for visiting the various beaches on the island. Plus it's nice to have your our pool. Miss Lucy's was great as was Salt Pond for snorkeling."

  • Swiss Family Robinson

"We felt like the Swiss Family Robinson in our little tree house in the jungle on the side of a mountain! Tree Frog Cottage was the perfect place for us to stay - 2 adults an 2 tweens. Awesome views and glorious sunrises. Coral Bay is a great location - easy to get to North and South shore beaches, good restaurants and Cruz Bay. This was our first time to the Carribean. St John is truly paradise - 80's, sunshine, sandy beaches lined with palm trees and mangrooves, the warm water is amazing - Caribbean Blue is a real gorgeous color - coral reefs filled with colorful fish and turtles. Every beach was beautiful! A 4 wheel drive jeep is a must for the steep, switchbacks and dirt roads. Watch out for donkeys, chickens, sheep, goats, mongoose, deer etc. Best Restaurant: Aqua Bistro, Best Coral Reef: WaterLemon Key, Best Hike: L'Esperance with National Parks (best deal too), Maho Bay: most turtles. Anaberg & ruins during hike: Best Ruins. One suggeston - Tree Frog sign at driveway should be moved so you see it coming down the hill - too far to the left - we missed it at night 1st time driving there. St. John: a family vacation we will never ever forget!"

  • Best Escape from Oregon Winter

"Reef Bay Villa provided a terrific winter escape destination/family reunion site for myself and three siblings and our spouses. The tans are fading but the memories are not. The villa offered plenty of privacy with its three separate buildings for a large group like ours; we would gather in the central great room/kitchen in the morning, have breakfast on the patio next to the pool, decide on our beach destination of the day, and head out to explore the island. Two bedrooms with a shared bath are on the other side of a small patio from the great room building; the two master suites are on the other side of the pool -- this offers great ventilation, terrific views, and privacy, so you are not all on top of each other. The breezes during our February stay were lovely and we never used A/C. Viky, the concierge, was extremely helpful with meeting us at the ferry, getting us to the car rental place and the grocery store, and orienting us to the villa. When the coffee machine went on the fritz, a new one appeared in the kitchen within a few hours of our call. We felt well taken care of. The villa is immaculate and the Balinese touches are unique and beautiful. There is plenty of seating in the great room for after dinnner socializing. One of our favorite things about staying at Reef Bay Villa was the fact that you didn't need a car to walk along the beach below the house all the way to the Petroglyphs, the Reef Bay Sugar Mill, and Lameshur Bay -- and mostly without seeing another person! We mostly cooked dinners together at the villa in the very well equipped kitchen with spectacular views. We had a nice dinner all together in Cruz Bay the first night at the Banana Deck, and ate at Shipwreck Landing in Coral Bay later in the week after an excellent afternoon snorkel sail with Rick and Robin on their Long Distance yacht, recommended by the guest book at the villa. We did pay the $20 fee to park at Caneel Bay but since we ate lunch at one of the restaurants at this very beautiful resort, the fee was waived. Our favorite beach was Cinnamon Bay, where we snorkelled around Cinnamon Cay offshore. The villa provides a cooler for picnic lunches, beach chairs and snorkel gear so we never had to rent. So easy to just arrive, relax and enjoy the island. Thanks to the Ward family for creating such a lovely retreat on St. John."

  • Beyond great!!

"What a wonderful vacation! We had such a great time on St. John and were beyond happy with Eleah's Garden. From the moment we arrived we felt we had arrived in paradise. One of the owners, David, greeted us at the house on our arrival to ensure that we had everything we needed. The place was IMMACULATE! The deck was amazing and we spent every morning and evening listening to the tree frogs and watching the geckos scamper. The kitchen was very well equipped and all the little things like towels, movies for the dvd player,a blender for frozen drinks and chairs for the beach were provided. Bed was super comfy and ceiling fans were more than sufficient for the occasional warm night (but with those wonderful ocean breezes it was great to just leave all the windows open!). I have stayed in many places on St. John but I have to say that this central location was my favorite place to stay. Only five minutes to town and beaches! We didn't want to leave. Every day we hiked, went to the beach and had great meals (either eating in or out). I highly recommend this rental and anxiously look forward to a LONGER stay next year!!"
