"Had a wonderful stay here in July. The property is everything you would hope for and perhaps the best thing I can say about it is that there were no disappointments. The kitchen and all the pots, dishes, utensils, etc. were great (we ate in nearly every day and the kitchen had everything we needed and then some), the furniture and property overall showed that it's well taken care of and great quality (and the bed was really comfortable), and the property overall has a light and airy feel to it. We wondered whether we should be concerned about the lack of A/C but it's so high up and the breeze is so constant that there were only a couple of evenings where we even thought about it (and that's when the breeze had died down a bit so we turned on the overhead fans). Most evenings you'd be comfortable in a long-sleeved shirt once the sun goes down. We debated between staying "up high" or down closer to the water, and we liked the views so much that we'll be staying up the hill again next time. We're not big pool users, but the pool was a pleasant temperature to jump into on hot days. It's a great location if you want to be close to both the north and the south beaches. Also, I can't say enough about the great service from Windspree, the property manager. When our flight down was canceled they immediately agreed to shift our rental period by a day since it was available. The only thing we'd recommend is a stronger wifi router so it can reach to the master bedroom."

"WE have been traveling to STJ for over a decade. We started on our honeymoon and now we are sharing with our kids. We have stayed at hotels (Westin) and villas. However, this place is absolutely perfect. I was skeptical about NO AC because I never stayed with No AC in STJ. But I have to say it WAS NEVER an issue at all- I actually enjoyed it more.. I liked the gentle breezes that flow through the house, the wide open door with the views of ST Thomas were perfect. It felt like we were HOME the minute we walked in!
WE were a family of five (3 kids 9,7,7) and this was a great house for us. It was safe for the kids, the POOL was AWESOME, we grilled out and ate on the deck every night. The kids explored the area around the house that is flush with iguanas, birds, crabs, etc. We walked to Chocolate Hole and hiked to Hart Bay.
At night we played board games and watched TV/movies, ate popcorn, enjoyed the views...The kitchen is fully stocked and the house is extremely CLEAN and very nicely decorated.
I would return and recommend this to everyone."

"A true testomony of our love of Andura was that we came back, as we had a flawless vacation here last year. We did notice some differences however which we did not expect based upon the pricey, yet competitive, rate of such luxury. This year the bronze wall fountain did not function and was not repaired during our stay. Seems like a little issue unless you had experienced the hundreds of hummingbirds using it as their tropical bar last year. We came in on Super Bowl Sunday and alas none of the televisions worked. Of course you may also be thinking that we were on vacation, who needs TV? It would have nice to have at least been able to watch the big game. The TV / satellite issue was partially resolved mid-week after two calls so we could finally get music in the great room. To this day we are unable to switch it to the gazebo/ pool area speakers. One of our party is a a wonderful amateur chef. He delights in using what we have on hand to create delectable dishes. But alas, the beautiful commercial gas range had electronic sparking issues all week and did not appear to have been cleaned in quite some time. (Resulting in stained clothes.) Light fixtures need cleaning outside and light bulbs need to be replaced. All this being said we know is genuinely minor but... We have grown to expect clean, properly functioning facilities, especially if we are willing to pay the price. If we were the owners we would want to know these things and would drill down to whose resposility it is to keep it at 100%. We love this place and do not want to see it decline. Just sayin'."

"We stayed for five nights at Stonegarden Cottage. From the beginning, it was a wonderful place for our family to stay on St. John. The hosts, Thom and Jackie, were very helpful and accomodating for our first visit to the island. The Cottage receives cool mountain breezes and has an amazing view. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen and the outdoor grill was brand new. We found it very relaxing to cook and eat all our meals at the Cottage. Our first stop after picking up the rental Jeep was Starfish Market to buy food in Cruz Bay. We loved the beautiful grounds of the Cottage. Our son caught lizards and a crab. We used the beach towels, chairs, and cooler provided by Stonegarden for our daily snorkeling trips to the beach. We snorkeled Maho bay twice (sea turtles), Trunk Bay (arrived before 9 am to beat the crowds), Princess Bay (mangrove snorkeling), and Waterlemon Cay (the 0.1 mile snorkey was not difficult). Stonegarden Cottage is very conveniently located for Maho, Princess, and Waterlemon. The Cottage beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms have a unique tropical feel with lots of plants and shells. At night, we enjoyed playing games and watching videos that are in Stonegarden. One night we even had a goofy concert with the musical instruments. We loved staying in quieter Coral Bay. Relative to Cruz Bay, Stonegarden Cottage offers a very relaxed Caribbean getaway."
