  • Couldn't be better

"Sea Rock was a perfect place to stay. The house is located a couple hundred feet about the sea, with sweeping views from every room of Coral Bay. Two decks run the length of the first and second floors, with comfortable seating, shade if you want it, and on the top floor, outside the kitchen, is a beautiful long table for dining. The kitchen is superb, with every appliance you could want. Plus, it's got all of the basic spices, oil and vinegar, etc. so you don't have to buy these at the store. The upstairs has a cathedral ceiling with 3 fans to keep things cool, but we rarely used the fans because the view to the East brought nice breezed all day and night. The furniture is very comfy. There are 2 bedrooms -- both air conditioned - which share a bath. There are two outdoor showers, which surprised us but we quickly found that we loved them. It's great to be taking a shower while looking over a privacy screen at the ocean. The beds are comfortable and there's a lot of closet and dresser space for clothes. We didn't use them but the owner told us we could use his beach chairs, coolers and other handy items. Finally, I can't say enough good things about the owner, Dan Maitland. This was our first time in St. John and we had many questions about where to hike, where to snorkel, where to eat, etc. Dan quickly sent very thorough answers to all of our questions. And his property manager, Jared, was equally response to my queries. It's very reassuring to see this level of service on a rental property. My wife and I will definitely be back to Sea Rock. Finally, let me say how much we enjoyed staying in Coral Bay. It's a small community about 20 minutes from busy Cruz Bay. The area is much less hectic, and the area isn't built-up. There's no town center but there are 3 grocery stores, a lots of restaurants -- several of them excellent -- and a few nice stores."

  • Beautiful cottage overlooking the National Park

"We enjoyed our stay in Liz and Russ's home. We had all of the windows open so that the nightly breeze (at times quite gusty!) and nature sounds lulled us to sleep. After a day at the beach snorkeling and swimming, it was just as wonderful to come back to the relaxing Lampshur home. The home is well maintained and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the collection of reggae music and sitting out on the deck, and the hot tub with our morning coffee. The location was perfect for us. We enjoy the quiet side of the island. The cottage is just down the road from Salt Pond Bay and Little Lampshur bays, two of our favorites. It doesn't take long (20 min tops) to get to the North side bays like Maho and Jumbie. Just watch out for the goats, chickens, and donkeys, and the little dog up the road! Thank you Liz and Russ for opening up your home to us!"

  • I can't imagine staying anywhere else!

"I agree with the sentiment of others that the photos do not do this place justice! The cottage is in a beautiful hilltop spot with stunning views. It is also extremely comfortable and well appointed. We had everything we could need there, and Margaret (the owner) did a fantastic job of making us feel at home. The shower is exceptionally great and opens up to views of the ocean. We also really appreciated the beach chairs and snorkeling equipment available to use. I think the only 2 downsides would be no full kitchen (although has a mini fridge and you have access to a sink, microwave, and grill) and the bed was sufficient but not as comfortable as we are used to. For the price, it cannot be beat and we look forward to staying at SPC for many trips to come!"

  • The perfect spot for a great vacation

"We stayed a week at Island Vibes, a truly delightful place. It is bright, colorful, and well equipped. A wonderful constant island breeze blowing through the house kept us cool and almost mosquito free. Marcia and Sam were the perfect hosts, answering all our questions and making sure we were comfortable. We would definitely go back to revisit this quieter side of the island with its beautiful bays, friendly wildlife, and interesting people."
