  • July 14 – 28, 2014 The Sea Rock Experience – 14 days of R&R!

"Sea Rock is located on the East side of St. John, VI. It sits on the side of a mountain, has a welcoming entrance, a fresh air openness, and an amazing view of Coral Bay stretching out to the Atlantic. The house is in decorative seaside colors, bright, clean, amply provisioned and well cared for. The kitchen has every appliance and utensil necessary, the bedrooms have more than enough comfort and bedding, and after a hot and sunny day we chose to sleep with air conditioning. There are two, large (protected) outdoor showers—so one showers with a view—and then there’s the hot tub! Also available are Wi-Fi, telephone, sound system, TV, puzzles, and games. We enjoyed watching the rising sun, sail boats and colorful skiffs zigzagging around the Bay and, on one night, a full moon and its reflection up the Bay. We’re not birders, but Bananaquits regularly visited and made us feel welcome and a Green-Breasted Carib Hummingbird made its rounds to flowers on the deck. The biggest surprise and challenge was getting accustomed to an Island with a rhythm of its own—Slow, and that’s only in part the result of the 20 mph speed limit. We were also surprised to find one drives on the left side of the road and that the steering wheel is on the left side of the vehicle. As to seaside recreation, after visiting some delightful beaches, Maho Bay became our beach of choice for swimming and snorkeling because of its proximity and convenient parking. This was a genuinely restful vacation. It’s been a few weeks since we got home and we’re still adapting. Thank you Dan, Deb and Jared. Joanne and Al Keiser North Bethesda, MD"

  • Perfection in Paradise

"This is such a special place. The view is simply stunning. Andara is perched on a hill on the eastern end of the island looking over the Sir Francis Drake passage. If you know the area and are curious about the view in the photos, you are looking at the West End (Sopers Hole) of Tortola. Located just above Haulover Bay, you can see the birds diving on fish and the sailboats on tack trying to make Norman Island. The villa itself is beautifully designed. No expense was spared in its construction and the owners have exquisite taste in design and decoration. There are 3 king sized bedroom suites situated away from each other. Three couples could come to Andara and have all the privacy they wanted. The infinity pool is the perfect size. Big enough for to enjoy but not so large that it distracts from the property. We spent most of our time outside in the shade of the gazebo or in the pool. Everything worked flawlessly. The kitchen is well stocked with all the pots, pans and utensils any chef could need. Plenty of space to create wonderful meals. The pantry comes stocked with spices and other non perishables left behind by other guests. Additionally, the owners generously allow you to use their snorkel equipment, coolers and others beach/pool items as you need. That is very rare and much appreciated. The driveway, while steep and initially intimidating, is easily conquered. If you can drive Centerline Road from Cruz Bay to East End without wrecking your jeep you can handle the driveway. We looked at over 30 St Johns properties on VRBO before selecting this one. Even though it was on the higher end of our price range (there was just my wife and I celebrating a special anniversary) we are so glad we chose Andara. I promise you won't be disappointed if you do the same. This is a special place for folks that appreciate the very best. We didn't want to leave the property. You won't want to either..."

  • Another Great Stay

"This was our second time staying at the cottage and once again had a wonderful stay. We stayed eight nights this visit. We love how the cottage has everything we need in it. We enjoyed sitting in the living room in the evening after a great day snorkeling the beautiful beaches of St John. We like how the living room is screened in so we could be outside but not have to worry about bugs. It was also great having the property owner on-site. James is such a nice guy. He is there to help if you need anything. The one time we did have an issue (because of something I did) he was right there fixing it. We liked getting in the pool for a quick swim after a day at the beaches. There is also a covered area by the pool with a couch and chairs that is a good place to hang out. The driveway was easy to get into and had a nice place to turn around. It was nice having a washer and dryer. The bedroom has A/C which we did use at night. There are beach chairs, coolers, and ice packs for your trips to the beach. We have also stayed in the two bedroom villa and liked it just as much as the cottage. You can't go wrong with either property!"

  • Loved the Meritage House! Exactly as Advertised!

"We had a wonderful week over Christmas at the Meritage House. The house was just as described on the web site and the pictures were up to date. The house was extremely clean, well maintained and had every amenity we needed; no need to bring anything but your bathing suit. Not luxurious - but had a great “island feel." We loved the set-up of the house; the main living area was on the top floor and all the bedrooms were below and each bedroom had its own bath. That allowed for everyone to have privacy, peace and quiet if they needed it. Having Sinbad (the property manager) was a plus as well. He picked us from the Ferry in Hart Bay, and gave us a quick tour of everything we'd need to know around town - grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Nothing went wrong during out trip, but we knew that if anything did, he was there to help. The location was extremely convenient; a five minute drive to town (Hart Bay) and 15-20 minute drive to the most beauitful beaches in the world (in particular, the North Shore beaches). We would not hesitate to book this house again when we return to St. John’s!"
