"Just want to start by saying what a place. Wow. We absolutely loved mnc. The villa is definitely private. This was our honeymoon and it was an amazing stay. Five stars means just that. Hate to leave this wonderful place . It was well furnished, comfortable bed, excellent kitchen and so much more. The drive up to mnc is steep but a jeep in 2wd goes up fine. Extremely quiet and private. Monkey no climb is on top of our list of places to stay. Thanks Bart for allowing us to share your villa. Max and shelly"

  • ~~ Sensational villa with unmatched, panoramic views!!! ~~

"This was our first visit to St John. Our group consisted of two families: four adults and two teenagers. We spent two weeks at Sol Inclination and it was perfect for us. It is sound, has a wonderfully stocked and organized gourmet kitchen and is decorated tastefully. Loved having the upstairs bedrooms with the expansive balcony. Dreamy! Lush landscaping provides the perfect frame for exquisite sunrises and sunsets. The view from all four suites (including the guest house) is unbelievable. You can see Ram's Head, Reef Bay, Hart Bay, Rendezvous Bay, Chocolate Hole. Very private - no other villas overlooking this property and the National Park is to the east. The lighted driveway is extremely steep (as is the drive up to the villa - a super fun adventure!) but it was no problem for our brand new 4WD Jeep rented on St Thomas from Amalie. The multi-tiered deck areas heading down to the guest house were cozy, well lit and very well-kept. Plenty of space to find a quiet spot to read. The pool and it's surrounding deck was small but beautiful and adequate, providing breath-taking views while floating. The AC is adjusted not to go below 74F which for the most part was okay. We had the windows open to enjoy the early morning breezes anyway. Meals on the veranda were perfect. All of the bathrooms are en suite and spacious. The outdoor shower is off the easterly King suite in the main house. Great closet and dresser space. We loved plugging our ipod into the sound system for indoor or outdoor tunes! We ate at home the majority of the time, using the grill. Mongoose Junction restaurants we tried were: Ocean Grill, Virgin Fire, and Tap Room. Gecko Bar had fabulous food and cocktails! Great food near Coral Bay at Skinny Legs with plenty of souvenir shopping. Beaches we visited: Hawksnest, Maho, and Cinnamon Bay. We used the beach chairs, bags and coolers provided. Not bad driving distance to the beaches but we loved driving on the island. We did make the mistake of taking a short-cut across to Trunk Bay by going down John(s?) Head Rd. Glad nobody was coming the other direction! They have games and puzzles which we enjoyed. Water pressure was good, with plenty of hot water. Beds were okay-comfy. Delores, the maid had the place spotless. The floral bouquet was a nice touch! Everything was in pretty-good working order although cable TV was spotty at times- who needs TV in paradise!? WiFi was good at the main house. Best. Vacay. Ever. Thank you so much!"

  • In love with Estate Rose

"Estate Rose is absolute paradise! I just returned from an eight day stay. The first half of the trip was a girls getaway with the second half a romantic vacation with my husband. I thought the pictures on VRBO were beautiful, but my expectations were far exceeded in person. Breathtaking! The grounds are amazing and so beautifully kept. The living quarters are top notch with access to a gourmet kitchen, game room, library, workout area and outdoor patio and grill. The pool area is surrounded by luxurious outdoor furniture with a variety of options to sit in full sun or be shaded. The views are stunning from any direction on the estate. The owner has thought of every detail, including robes and coffee pots in each room as well availability to a concierge for activity planning. One day we had in home massages that were the ultimate in relaxation. I have been to other islands before, but this was my first visit to St. John. We loved the feel of the island. Very casual, easy going and everyone is extremely friendly. I loved that the staff at the bars and restaurants are so outgoing. I feel like we made friends with everyone we came in contact with. We did take an all day boat trip via See and Ski. The tour was awesome! We were on the water from 8-5, seeing most of the VI's and stopping at several. Capt. Daniel was so knowledgable! I will definitely return to St. John and Estate Rose. Would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I can't wait until next time!"

  • Couldn't be better

"Sea Rock was a perfect place to stay. The house is located a couple hundred feet about the sea, with sweeping views from every room of Coral Bay. Two decks run the length of the first and second floors, with comfortable seating, shade if you want it, and on the top floor, outside the kitchen, is a beautiful long table for dining. The kitchen is superb, with every appliance you could want. Plus, it's got all of the basic spices, oil and vinegar, etc. so you don't have to buy these at the store. The upstairs has a cathedral ceiling with 3 fans to keep things cool, but we rarely used the fans because the view to the East brought nice breezed all day and night. The furniture is very comfy. There are 2 bedrooms -- both air conditioned - which share a bath. There are two outdoor showers, which surprised us but we quickly found that we loved them. It's great to be taking a shower while looking over a privacy screen at the ocean. The beds are comfortable and there's a lot of closet and dresser space for clothes. We didn't use them but the owner told us we could use his beach chairs, coolers and other handy items. Finally, I can't say enough good things about the owner, Dan Maitland. This was our first time in St. John and we had many questions about where to hike, where to snorkel, where to eat, etc. Dan quickly sent very thorough answers to all of our questions. And his property manager, Jared, was equally response to my queries. It's very reassuring to see this level of service on a rental property. My wife and I will definitely be back to Sea Rock. Finally, let me say how much we enjoyed staying in Coral Bay. It's a small community about 20 minutes from busy Cruz Bay. The area is much less hectic, and the area isn't built-up. There's no town center but there are 3 grocery stores, a lots of restaurants -- several of them excellent -- and a few nice stores."
