  • Beautiful getaway

"Yes, it is off the beaten path and it is on the Southeast side of the island which is about a 40 minute drive from the Cruz Bay ferry port. The immediate road leading to Kiddel Perch is rocky, so make sure you rent a jeep, but it is absolutely beautiful and worth the drive. The unit was clean, extremely spacious, the wrap around deck had amazing views, we saw shooting stars at night and clear waters in the day, and it is close to the best eats on the island (miss lucy's for breakfast and johnny cakes, tourist trap for lobster roll, skinny legs for burgers), about 10 minute drive to Calabash Market for groceries, and about a 2 minute drive to the Saltpond Beach. If you are looking for hotel amenities, this is not the place. There is no A/C but we went in the dead of summer and there was always a nice breeze that kept the place cool along with the ceiling fans in every room. Heat was really not an issue. Communicating with the property manager was extremely easy and hassle-free. They provided all the necessary contact information (which we never had to use during our stay as we had no issues) as well as clear driving directions to Kiddel Perch. The drive into Cruz Bay and beaches along the north shore were an easy drive, but we always looked forward to coming back to Kiddel Perch for true island rest and relaxation. We would definitely stay at Kiddel Perch again."

  • The best way to celebrate 10 years of wedding bliss

"My husband and I stayed at the Balance Villa 8/16-8/21. We cannot begin to express what a glorious time we had. First of all, we arrived at Cruz Bay via ferry where we were greeted by Marilyn from Cimarron mgnt company. She was very friendly and informative. We followed her in our rented jeep through the steep and winding roads of St. John to the Balance Villa located in Fish Bay. The drive was not bad maybe only 10-15 minutes from Cruz Bay. I was on Island time so I did not pay attention. Once we arrived at the Villa we were in awe. The villa is more beautiful in person! It was so clean, and had everything we needed to make our vacation a pleasant one. We stayed in the upstairs master bedroom since it had the better view of Fish Bay. The location of the villa was so quiet, you could hear the waves breaking off in the distance by Ditleff Point. Husband and I slept like babies. Also, having a/c in the bedrooms was a plus. We kept the windows and screened doors open in the living area, making the room temperature pleasant due to no a/c. The tropical landscaping around the villa was beautiful and it sure gave you a sense of privacy. Iguanas, lizards, geckos, hummingbirds, and even a tarantula all made their presence known. Another highlight of the villa were the outdoor showers. Exhilarating! This marked our 3rd trip to the island of St. John and first time staying in a private villa. On this trip we were able to explore and relax on 8 different beaches (Trunk, Hawksnest, Solomon, Francis, Maho, Leinster, Great Lameshur, and Denis). Francis Bay is our new favorite! Balance villa provided beach chairs and coolers which was just perfect! We indulged in great food from restaurants such as Cruz Bay Landing, The Beach Bar, Jake's (the best breakfast in our opinion), Sam & Jack's Deli, Aqua Bistro (Coral Bay area), Driftwood David's. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary dinner at ZoZo's at the Caneel Bay Resort. Highly recommend! In conclusion, I want to thank Marc & Anne for allowing us to stay in their beautiful home. This trip was truly one of the best my husband and I have ever had. We could not have asked for a more perfect one. We hope to visit St. John again in the near future."

  • Amazing views and a great place to stay

"We stayed at Andante for a week in August 2014 and had a wonderful time. Amazing views from all rooms and the double tiered deck. The home was incredibly well stocked - everything from the kitchen to snorkeling equipment, beach chairs and coolers. The Villa was one of the major reasons why we had a wonderful family vacation with our daughters aged 22, 20 and 18."

  • Best Experience Ever!

"My husband, myself and our 2 boys(5 & 2 1/2) stayed at Hummingbird's SEAcret for 10 days in February 2014. In the past we have rented three other homes on the island (never before in one of Lisa's management homes). While all of them were very nice, Hummingbird was hands down the best experence. Kate (Lisa's helper) picked us up at the ferry dock. She was so warm and welcoming, full of great information, and when we arrived at the house we were greeted with crackers, cheese, beer and wine. After traveling 10 long hours w/2 small children, we were beyond thrilled! From then on it just kept getting better. The house was perfect. The open, single building, ranch style allowed us to lounge by the pool while the kids watched cartoons or played in the pool. Speaking of the pool, it was perfect; heated and clean with outstanding views! You'd think in such a warm place you wouldn't need a heated pool. However when your kids want you to go in with them 1st thing in the a.m. and the last thing before bed, the heat makes it so much more enjoyable. The location was great, close to town and grocery store. Also, unlike other homes we've rented we never once had to use air conditioning, the house was always airy comfortable. We rented strollers and took walks every morning which turned out to be a highlight of the trip for both my husband and I. The roads were paved and the hills were steep and there were continuous breathtaking views. The house was clean, bright, and stocked with all the little things you need a bit of but you can only purchase in large quantity...coffee filters, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, sponges etc...to sum it up: we will use Lisa's co. from now on, and we can't wait to go back to HUMMINGBIRD'S SEAcret!"
