  • We hope to return!!

"My husband and I stayed here late September and aim to go back and take our adult daughters and their significant others to stay here because we loved it so much! Loved the location and the views were indescribably gorgeous from the decks. The house has great architectural features and is very well-equipped. We never even used the indoor showers...as the outdoor shower was comfortable, clean, and all we needed! Fernando had picked fresh starfruits right from their yard as a welcome treat for us! It was delicious! The landscaping and grounds are amazing eye-candy! We rented our Jeep at St.Thomas airport and ferried over to Cruz Bay. Went to Star Market and liquor store before driving over to Coral Bay. There is a small market and some liquor available in Coral Bay but we encourage you to plan ahead and stock up some prior to leaving Cruz Bay. It will take about 1 hour to drive across the island. I do recommend people do NOT attempt to arrive in the dark and in the rain if you've never driven the island before and are unfamiliar with the roads and driveway entrance-- thankful for Fernando helping direct us out of our little predicament and that we were in a four-wheel drive Jeep! We did have a little trouble getting the A/C unit in our bedroom to cool the room and it was an adjustment to adapt to the humidity, for us, but we got along pretty well anyhow because we were mainly in swimsuits the entire visit anyhow! Maybe we'll get the meet Dorothy next year when we bring our family!?"

  • Amazing...again

"My wife and I stayed here for the second year in a row and it exceeded our expectations yet again. The property was spotless when we arrived and provide an escape away from any crowds, it was our own personal estate on top of a mountain! The grounds are gorgeous and extremely well maintained. We spent half of our time at the house grilling on the amazing back porch and the other half arguing over who got to use the outdoor shower. Pam provides everything you could need from beach towels to pots and pans or grilling supplies along with a fantastic array of Caribbean spices which was a great perk. I was also completely confident that if anything did go wrong with the property, Pam would be there in a flash to rectify it immediately, she really cares about her guests and wants to ensure you have a fantastic time. I imagine some people might say," I need a private pool!" but there are beaches everywhere, you can get there in 10 minutes, and I didn't come to the Caribbean for a pool! We spent everyday at the beach but looked forward to coming back and falling asleep to the cool mountain breezes and seclusion away from everything. We have rented other properties on St. John and while all of them had great outdoor areas, Bay Grove stands out for the beautiful interior and the fact that it really feels like your own piece of paradise. Needless to say I will be back as soon as I can and can't believe there is ever an opening in their calendar."

  • Nice house

"This was a very nice house to stay in. FYI: this was my 6th trip to St. John and we've stayed in a different place each time. This trip, we stayed with another couple. Our friends stayed in the "better" suite with the double doors to the veranda. Very cute room, and the pictures make it look very lovely. It is, but... the curtains needed to be shut all the time because someone lives downstairs and there was construction happening on the sidewalks around the place. There were people walking around often enough to mandate closed curtains and loss of the sunny room. There were no curtains on the bathroom so my friend had to tape a garbage bag up. (though someone did come and hang some curtains one day when we were out). The other bedroom was okay. Someone else complained that the bathroom needed updating. Either it had been or I thought it was fine. I do understand that updates don't happen in the VI like we are accustomed to in the states because material and labor cost so much there, so maybe I'm just more understanding. That being said, the peeling paint on the jaccuzi deck REALLY does need to be re-done. It's just bad. Also, we were told that the jacuzzi heats on a timer, but it was never (never) warm enough for us to use. The living areas are beautiful. The location is great as it is a very easy and quick drive into town, the roads/driveway is good."

  • Just perfect

"Great location with stunning views. Sinbad the manager is fantastic. It takes just a few minutes to go into town but far enough away where all you hear is the sounds of nature. The porch, and hot tub is perfect. The Cottage is exactly as pictured and a perfect size for 1-3 people."
