"I stayed at Waterlemon villa, Coral Bay, St John in May, 2015 with my Mom, Aunt and sister. We had a fabulous time! Don't let the lack of air conditioning scare you away. You do not need it at all! The breezes coming in were sufficient. The screened in porch was a great place to hang out with cool breezes even though it was 85 degrees outside. The view was to die for! The house has island decor and has ample dishes and cooking utensils. The beds were very comfortable. My outdoor showers were a hit. We did enjoy the pool also. The owner of the villa was very nice and accommodating and always responded to may e-mails promptly.
You can get to some of the best beaches in a short amount of time. Coral Bay has nice restaurants and a grocery store. We stayed half the time in Coral Bay and half in Cruz Bay. It seemed like we were on two different islands. Coral Bay is much more quiet and laid back. I highly recommend Waterlemon Villa."

"We stayed at Villa Tiffany for 9 nights at the beginning of May. Everything was perfect and we wouldn't change a thing! The owners have provided a lovely home for guests. We've been to St John five times and this was the first villa rental where we found welcome treats waiting in the refrigerator. It's such a nice touch and we absolutely loved it!
The kitchen had all the pots, pans, gadgets and appliances we needed for the breakfasts and dinners we prepared at home. There was also sugar for the birds and sugar syrup for the hummingbird feeder. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We didn't need AC but it was available in the bedrooms if necessary. The private outdoor showers were beyond amazing! We had plenty of towels for the bathrooms, the pool area and beach, as well as beach chairs, including two of the higher ones which I was thrilled to find since getting out of low beach chairs is difficult for me. There was plenty of comfortable outdoor seating spread over the decks and pool area so guests could always find a quiet spot for relaxing or for gathering together for cocktail hours and meals. The pool was surprisingly warm and we used it daily. The hot tub was clean and the changing light colors added more fun to each evening. The wall behind the outdoor grill provided dinnertime lizard entertainment when the lights attracted insects for the little lizards to feed on. We also enjoyed watching a bat fly nightly missions over the pool searching for insects. We didn't have any issues with bugs or "critters" outside or inside the villa. The lack of light pollution allowed for very good stargazing.
We did get a bit too enthusiastic with our singing one night and an unseen downhill neighbor gently told us we were loud so for that I sincerely apologize to her. We tried to remember how sounds carries for the rest of the week.
We enthusiastically recommend Villa Tiffany and hope to return next year. Thank you to Marc, the property manager, for all his assistance with the rental process and for promptly answering our various questions, and a huge thank you to the owners for allowing us to enjoy their beautiful home."

"We travel to St John annually and have tried many locations on the island. We prefer the less populated areas and Catherineberg wins our vote for best location. Cinnamon Tarn has the perfect layout for two couples with the bedrooms situated on either end of the living area for privacy. The bathrooms are great with large garden showers. In the past we have rented a house with a pool but have found that the water is usually too cold to enjoy. The hot tub was a great alternative. We loved watching the boat traffic in Francis Bay and Drake's channel. To do so I recommend that you bring binoculars. The kitchen had everything we needed (we cooked in several times to enjoy the view) and the laundry room was a bonus for those of us who travel lightly. The road to get to the house is a little rough but definitely worth the drive. Any issues that we had were handled promptly by Mark and staff. Looking forward to next year."

"My husband and I stayed at the Hawks Nest for our honeymoon in September 2015. We were a bit hesitant about traveling in the middle of hurricane season but we could not have picked a better time. Some restaurants/resorts and the campground are closed for the month so I guess it was less crowded than other times of year but we would definitely travel in September again as many days we would have the beaches nearly to ourselves.
We rented a jeep on St. Thomas and took the car ferry over and were glad we did. Although it took some adjusting to navigate the roads and driveway, the car gave us the freedom to explore and drive to the grocery store and restaurants whenever we wanted. We spent a couple of days at the beaches within walking distance but also loved being able to drive along the North Shore road and stop at all of the beaches along the way, all of which had awesome snorkeling.
Although St. John itself is an amazing place, it really was the Hawks Nest that made the trip perfect for us. We wanted to stay away from the traditional all inclusive resort and the Hawks Nest couldn't be farther from that. Its completely private, you can't see another house, and open to nature, the living room/kitchen is completely open (with doors that tuck away behind the main walls) while the bedroom is screened in. Waking up hearing the waves and overlooking Hawksnest Bay is priceless and whenever we get the opportunity to get back to St. John we will definitely be staying at the Hawks Nest again."
