  • Best Birthday Trip Ever!!!

"Just had the BEST birthday trip ever! The Studio Suite was just as pictured and, just as already noted, within walking distance of great shops/restaurants. Both the property and room were well-maintained and clean. Had a blast at Castaway's happy hour - $1 well drinks, great fish tacos & bingo! Also, had the best meal ever at the Fish Trap (they even gave me a slice of cake w/candle and sung happy birthday, thanks Lori). I was originally planning a trip to St Thomas and am so glad I swithched to St John. Tracy was so easy to work with and answered any questions I had promptly. I am definitely returning and will definitely rent through Tracy again."

  • Great Location to Beaches

"I was very pleased with our stay at this property. It is in a great location to some of the best beaches on the island. The home was in good shape, and well maintained while we were there. There was a great breeze the whole time, and the fact that the property does not have AC, was not an issue. The pool and the view were awesome! I would definitely stay there again!"

  • Best Escape from Oregon Winter

"Reef Bay Villa provided a terrific winter escape destination/family reunion site for myself and three siblings and our spouses. The tans are fading but the memories are not. The villa offered plenty of privacy with its three separate buildings for a large group like ours; we would gather in the central great room/kitchen in the morning, have breakfast on the patio next to the pool, decide on our beach destination of the day, and head out to explore the island. Two bedrooms with a shared bath are on the other side of a small patio from the great room building; the two master suites are on the other side of the pool -- this offers great ventilation, terrific views, and privacy, so you are not all on top of each other. The breezes during our February stay were lovely and we never used A/C. Viky, the concierge, was extremely helpful with meeting us at the ferry, getting us to the car rental place and the grocery store, and orienting us to the villa. When the coffee machine went on the fritz, a new one appeared in the kitchen within a few hours of our call. We felt well taken care of. The villa is immaculate and the Balinese touches are unique and beautiful. There is plenty of seating in the great room for after dinnner socializing. One of our favorite things about staying at Reef Bay Villa was the fact that you didn't need a car to walk along the beach below the house all the way to the Petroglyphs, the Reef Bay Sugar Mill, and Lameshur Bay -- and mostly without seeing another person! We mostly cooked dinners together at the villa in the very well equipped kitchen with spectacular views. We had a nice dinner all together in Cruz Bay the first night at the Banana Deck, and ate at Shipwreck Landing in Coral Bay later in the week after an excellent afternoon snorkel sail with Rick and Robin on their Long Distance yacht, recommended by the guest book at the villa. We did pay the $20 fee to park at Caneel Bay but since we ate lunch at one of the restaurants at this very beautiful resort, the fee was waived. Our favorite beach was Cinnamon Bay, where we snorkelled around Cinnamon Cay offshore. The villa provides a cooler for picnic lunches, beach chairs and snorkel gear so we never had to rent. So easy to just arrive, relax and enjoy the island. Thanks to the Ward family for creating such a lovely retreat on St. John."

  • Absolutely wonderful views & family friendly!!!

"Sometimes you just can't be sure that a vacation rental you reserve on-line is going to be as good as it appears.... Well, Casa Luna exceeded our expectations!!! The photos are spot-on, as are the amenities listed. We just got back from a family vacation, 2 sisters and our families along with our mom, and had the best time. There was so much room for all 10 of us, and the boys (ages 4-15) thoroughly enjoyed the pool and "party" area, although they wished there was more lighting at the pool area for night-time swimming. The house was clean and lacked for nothing; the kitchen was stocked with plenty (even spices) for all of us to eat in - which we did almost each night (we found that the restaurant prices are substantial for a family of 10). And yes, quiet places could be carved out for when it was needed!!! As for our time on the island, we highly recommend Cinnamon Bay and Salt Pond Bay. For the more adventurous, Waterlemon Bay is beautiful & the L'esperance (or Reef Bay) hike is well worth the time (book those early through the National Park). Shipwreck Landing & Skinny Legs are good in Coral Bay, and the Tap Room and High Tide were really good in Cruz Bay. Definitely hit Starfish Market, but Calibash is well stocked and much closer to Casa Luna. Kathy was a tremendous help and Ash answered all of our questions upon our arrival to Casa Luna (we even got a ride to the car rental). There were even treats in the refrigerator just for us! All said, I would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in staying on St. John, whether as a family gathering or several couples traveling together. The views are spectacular and the location is great for visiting each part of the island."
