  • Stowaway in Paradise!

"My friend and I spent a week at Stowaway. This was the perfect set up for two single people or two couples as the bedrooms are of equal size and both have their own bath. The condo is bright, clean and has absolutely stunning views of Cruz Bay. We had everything we needed, including beach chairs and towels, which made it so much easier to explore the many beaches of St. John on our own. Even though we were just two of us, we could each find our own spots to sit, relax and enjoy the views. This would easily be a perfect place for two couples. Marcia, her mother Georgia, and our local contact, TBird were all so helpful. They really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Love, love, love Stowaway!"

  • Loved our first stay at St John Island

"Our family of 12, grandparents, children, spouses, and grandchildren settled into the house very quickly. We were taken back by the beautiful view from the balcony off the back of the house. The view was spectacular. We spent many evenings sitting outside enjoying the island breeze and view. The house was well laid out and allowed us room to spread out. The drive up to house was steep and the switchbacks took us a couple trips to master, but were not difficult. We traveled to a number of beaches, St Thomas to sightsee and shop, and dined at local restaurants. We also found the kitchen more than adequate for a large family and the dining room wonderful for family meals. The beach chairs and towels were very welcome for beach going. We had a few minor problems with the house, but the property manager had maintenance people there quickly so the problems were of little bother. The property manager was very helpful in showing us details of the house operation and provided a detailed book of activities, instructions, and helpful hints. Very well thought out and a welcome indeed. The owners were very nice and corresponded with us by email prior to our arrival answering questions and making suggestions to guide our stay. We would not have known what to bring or what was available locally had they not been so gracious. This was a trip that will be remembered for many years by young and old. We will be back."

  • What a unique, idyllic spot!

"What a unique, idyllic spot! Your home far exceeded our expectations. In one word stunning. When we sat on the lovely wrap-around porch we felt as if we had our own personal Caribbean island. Not another house on either side, and the deserted beach only about 100 feet in front of us The only visible lights at night were those on the islands on the horizon! The house is spacious, comfortable, and the construction well thought through with nicer furnishings than we had expected in a rental (comfortable bed and sofas, and the hard wood furniture is beautiful). The kitchen has a very nice assortment of pans for cooking – we ate in most nights after exploring the island. Of all the places we snorkeled, the area just in front of the house was the nicest we found, good coral, wide variety of fish, just need to be able to go in when the wind facilitates a calm sea. The steep driveway is a bit daunting the first time, but we quickly got used to it and with a good 4 wheel drive it is not a problem. It was a pleasure to deal with the owner, and the caretakers who live just up the hill. They were all very responsive and helpful."

  • Awesome place to stay!

"My husband and I visited St. John Island for our honeymoon and stayed 12 days at the Hawks Nest villa. It was absolutely wonderful! We loved the open-air of the house, alfresco shower, the nightly gecko visits, the lull of tree frogs at night and the privacy and seclusion of the house. The house was stocked with everything you could need: beach towels & chairs, a cooler to take to the beach, grill, kitchen pots/pans/dishes/appliances, bedding & towels, dvds, radio, fans, and a comfy bed, sofa and chairs. The view is incredible and the house is just really cozy and comfy. We didn't want to leave! It's in walking distance of Peace Hill and several beaches/bays. The property management company and owners were helpful and responsive to all of our emails. On the day we arrived, there was a even a goody bag in the fridge for us and they loaned us a great big binder filled with tourist info, maps, things to do, best snorkeling sites, etc. The bugs weren't too bad although the mosquitoes and no-see-ums did come out at night; however, part of the house (bedroom/bathroom/balcony) is screened which kept them away. The only advice I would say: keep ALL food in the refrigerator and make sure to wipe down counters/clean dishes after EVERY meal. The sugar ants find their way into all edibles if left on the counter/cupboards. We would definitely stay here again and will definitely recommend it to our friends/families. I'm so glad we stayed here instead of a boring hotel room. This villa was amazing and had its own personality. It made our honeymoon even more special!"
