  • Fantastic Villa...Great Vacation

"My family of six stayed in the 2BDR townhouse in February 2015. The villa was clean, well-appointed, and in good condition. Harri ensured that we had all that we needed. The kitchen had all of the amenities one would expect in a full kitchen. The villa is on the top of large hill. The Westin provides golf cart rides whenever one calls the front desk, but we chose to walk up and down regularly. The villa has its own pool shared with other villa residents. The larger, main pool is beautiful, but we spent more time at the villa pool given the proximity and privacy. The villa pool area has two excellent Viking Grills so we BBQ'd almost every night. This is one of the most beautiful Westin properties I have seen. St. John has amazing beaches. Renting a jeep is not required, but we highly recommend it. The beach at the Westin is small and not very pretty by St. John standards. Rent a jeep and explore. There are taxis but it is more economical to rent a jeep if you have 4+ travelers (much more flexible too). The biggest complaint about the villa was the pullout bed on the first floor: not too comfortable. This is a minor ding on a great villa. We want to come back to the same place next year."

  • 49th Wedding Anniversary!

"Tree Frog Cottage is just as described on this site! My husband and I so much enjoyed the serenity and location of this cottage. It was away from noise (except tree frogs, rooster and a dog :-)). The cottage was big enough for us and our needs. The kitchen was used daily and the bedroom and bath being downstairs was awesome! The view from the upper deck is out of this world. We so much enjoyed the upper deck and my husband more than I. Mark was awesome to deal with. He answered all questions in a timely manner and he seems like such a nice person. We stayed 10 nights and I did not want to leave, but the reality is that I had too, but parting was such sweet sorrow. I would love to come back and spend our 50th wedding anniversary at Tree Frog and stay much longer. Also, we don't fish, snorkle, drink, party,or smoke and this cottage was so right for us. However, those that do the above it will be so right for you as well (except no smoking in the cottage) I've already shared Tree Frog with friends and family. Thank you Mark and Holly for allowing us to be there for our 49th wedding anniversary and we pray that you will allow us to stay there again next anniversary! Blessings always, Jamila (Madison, VA)"

  • Cruz Bay Cottage

"I have no hesitation to recommend this cottage to anybody reading this review. We had a perfect vacation and all aspects of the experience exceeded my expectations. What you will get is a quaint cottage on a hillside with a spectacular view. The bed was as comfortable as anything offered in the best hotel. The cottage, although compact, is perfect for two people. The chairs on the porch provide a comfortable place to relax as you watch the ferries come and go and the sun setting in the distance. If I were to say anything negative, (to give balance to this "review"), is that the road from town to the cottage does not have a sidewalk or really any room to walk along without worrying about the traffic. But this is hardly the owner's fault. We had a car so it was not a problem for us and when going the quarter mile or so into town we drove and parked at the car rental lot. I have to also mention how Janet met us at the ferry, brought us to the cottage and then took us to the car rental. That was really nice and much appreciated. We had no reason to call Janet during our stay because there was no need. It was comforting, nonetheless to know she or her husband were only minutes away if we needed something. The cottage was clean and organized and well equipped. I did not seem to be able to get comfortable on the wicker couch or chair in the "living room", but that had the benefit of moving me to the best place, the porch. The cottage has air conditioning which might be more efficient if there were glass windows. We used the air conditioner briefly to cool the place off as we had just ice and snow. Coming from the Midwest, I could not really quite understand the Caribbean Island design of louvers and shutters. (But then again if I lived where it never got cold or snowed I might forego glass windows too). Each window, had a good screen and either wood or metal louvers or shutters. What more do you need! All in all, this little architectural detail added to the exquisite charm of this place. If you want my opinion, you will get everything you see in the pictures or read in the description and more. As for my recommendation, (other than to rent this place), I think to fully explore the island you need a car. My only concession in the overall experience was to drink Coors Light at the local bar on the main street nearby and only because the one dollar price was cheaper than a bottle of water - the two being nearly equivalent in taste. Thank you Janet."

  • Our favorite place

"We have been to St. John 20 times and for the last 8 years we have stayed at Haiku. The house is well designed and well maintained. The views are nice, it is private and very well located and convenient to town. It suits us perfectly whether there are just the two of us or we have a houseful of children and grandchildren. The open plan creates a lot of living space. We have booked our next visit."
