  • Coral Bay Gem....

"Stunning Caribbean architectural detail in the home welcomes you to this well-kept, well-appointed Villa. Perched slightly up the mountain side to give you a great view of Coral Bay (much better view than the VRBO photos give credit for) as well as Hurricane Hole but not to high on the mountain to give the driver and passengers white knuckles :) We enjoyed the sunshine from the deck, retreated in the shade to read, jumped in the pool and hung out comfortably on the surrounding deck with many happy hours relaxing and enjoying the beautiful expansive views. The home is as the photos display, even better in our opinion. The kitchen is loaded with glasses, plates, pans, etc., the furniture is comfortable and well maintained. We found the bedrooms to have dual closets, comfortable beds and a clean bath with spacious full tile shower (or enjoy the outside shower). Very cool. Quiet area, convenient location and all the amenities blend for a perfect vacation getaway! I would likely recommend Villa Madeline to friends and family!"

  • A gem!!!

"This was the perfect place to stay. Private, safe, very clean, a stunning view, owners on the premises, close to everything and so affordable. The owners truly have thought of everything in outfitting the apartment and are very gracious hosts."

  • A Wonderful Initiation to St. John!

"Of the many villas available on St. John, we selected the Periwinkle Cottage after much research. It was a rewarding decision! The Periwinkle offered a great deal of amenities, not least of which, was the beautiful view. The charming cottage has a welcoming, airy layout. The ample kitchen and bedroom doors, on two floors, open up to the warm breeze and create a large, comfortable living space. The wide porches were phenomenal. We looked forward to coming home each day after exploring the island's trails and beaches. The Periwinkle Cottage is a cozy, sheltered respite. Each evening we took advantage of the Jacuzzi, but the pool was too cool for daily use. (The cottage remained in the shade after 3pm). Beach chairs, towels, coolers, are all on hand. You'll need a four-wheel drive, some determination, and a bit of courage to get up and down the driveway each day. The road was washed out in a number of spots - many holes and protruding rocks. The close proximity to Love City Mart was a big plus! It's the cheapest place on the island for food/alcohol. And things are expensive! We recommend that you bring a stockpile of food and take advantage of the Periwinkle's full kitchen. Local restaurants are delicious though. The beds were stiff. Some aches and pains in the morning. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, and the extra toilet upstairs was handy. Do you like roosters? I hope so. You'll be greeted by their croaks each morning. Occasionally, they'll decide to get you up earlier, say 2 AM, maybe midnight. But, the roaming sheep, goats, geckos, and bananaquits (put out some sugar ... you'll see) were charming. Overall, the Periwinkle Cottage is an excellent destination. Close enough to everything in Coral Bay, but remote enough to feel private and quaint. We would gladly stay here again!"

  • All you need

"We had a great stay at Banana Cabana! I'm so glad we stayed in Coral Bay versus Cruz Bay. it's a very charming, tiny community, with Skinny Legs restaurant just down the hill. We loved the house, it's so comfy and cozy, with great views from all decks. And everything you need is there. The beds were comfy, the place was very clean, cable tv worked. All the windows and doors have screens. Having them open at night, and turning the ceiling fans on made for a comfortable temperature to sleep or relax in. Really a great place to come home to after a long day in the great outdoors. We saw some rather large critters in the bathrooms at times, so be prepared. I'm glad there was an extra mattress in the upstairs bedroom, as I don't think our 9-year old son would have been happy sleeping downstairs by himself. The bottom bedroom has a separate entrance, and cannot be reached without having to go outside. I saw it in the description, but hadn't understood it well. But all worked out well in the end. I'll so miss being able to shower outdoors. That was a nice touch."
