  • You have got to see this for yourself because words (and pictures) do not do this place justice!

"My wife & I, in addition to another couple, just returned from our trip to St John. I had never booked a home through VRBO before and we had never been to the USVI or the Caribbean, let alone to St John. I can honestly say that looking back; I would not change a thing. We booked Skyflower for multiple reasons and I am happy to report that it did not disappoint. From the amazing views, to the beautiful home, to the expansive decks; I fully expect that we will be back and when we do, I no longer need to look for another house to rent. This pleasant experience began when I first contacted the property manager through VRBO to inquire about renting Skyflower for a week. The property manager answered all of our questions and made the process of reserving this home very easy and painless. Since this was my first time renting a home through VRBO, I was a bit nervous about it too, but working with the property manager set me right at ease. His communications were very quick and helpful. When we finally arrived in St John, he met us in town, took us to the house, and was available our entire stay if needed. Once we got to the house, the views took our breath away; you can see quite a bit from this elevation. We all loved the layout of the home too. It provided both couples with great places to gather in the main living area or on the deck, but it also provided ample privacy in the separate master bedroom and in the second master suite on the lower level. This property would work well for a family with a couple of children too. I can only sing praises to Skyflower and our experience staying here. It was very clean, well designed, and well decorated too. It was also great to have access to a washer and dryer during our stay to wash bath towels & beach towels. If you decided to book this home, you will not regret it! My only suggestion would be to pack a few warm clothes in addition to your shorts and flip flops; it can get a bit chilly at night, especially with the breeze on top of Bordeaux Mountain. Personally, I was fine in a t-shirt and shorts, but my wife would usually throw on a light sweater at night along with a pair of sweat pants. Of course, you could always just hop in the hot tub too if you prefer!"

  • Amazing trip to St John

"Our vacation was amazing. From the first contact with the owners to our tearful good bye to St John our vacation was amazing. Leslie and Peter have an amazing place with all the comforts of home. Including free local and long distance calls from the room. We took advantage of the free Wi-Fi to facetime with the kids while we were away. That was an amazing bonus to the spacious floor plan that included a full kitchen, that was fully stocked with pots, pans, silverware, glassware, as well as spices and coffee filters. The place was amazing, but the views were breathtaking. Every morning I enjoyed my coffee on the veranda and watched the ferries come into and out of Cruz Bay harbor. Then we took our rented jeep for a spin to the beach. It was nice that parking in the garage was included in the rental fee. And the St John Villa company made it very easy. They had a greeter meet us at the ferry dock. They escorted us to our room (5 minute walk from the ferry), showed us around the rental property, and then took us to the jeep rental. They even showed us the market to get groceries for the week. They also used them to book a snorkel trip on the Bad Kitty, which I'm now suggesting to everyone reading this. It was nice to have breakfast at our place then venture out for the day. At night, we parked the jeep in the garage, and walked into Cruz Bay for dinner. The meals at Lime Inn were amazing, and the Cruz Bay Landing had an awesome Mahi Mahi fresh catch special. We also spent one evening relaxing in the pool and hot tub at Grande Bay. The facilities were not large, but very nicely kept. And since we were there at low season there was only one other couple using the facilities. Actually, they were the only other couple we saw staying at the resort during our stay. That may be because the unit is tucked into the far upper left corner of the complex, just remote enough to feel private. But close enough to town to have everything at your finger tips. We are already planning our next trip back, and this place will be our place to stay. Thank you Leslie and Peter for sharing your lovely house with us."

  • Excellent Condo

"If you are staying in St. John, then there is no better location than Grande Bay Resort. The proximity to town is terrific, and the views from the property are simply beautiful. The unit itself was clean, functional and relaxing. It is well-furnished and filled with almost everything you could possible need. The wrap-around balcony was terrific and the views from it alone are worth it. The owner - Beckie - was extremely responsive and very helpful with questions or recommendations. I would recommend the unit without hesitation. Thank you for a wonderful visit!"

  • It was great

"This really is a terrific place to stay at a terrific price. The cottage was just as advertised clean and private about a mile or two from town. I worried that with four adults it would be too small but it worked out fine. There is a VCR you might wan to bring a few DVD's, there are lots of little things that make the trip nicer beach towels, drink coolers, beach chairs...all those are really nice extras. The deck is a lovely place to start and end your day. You do need a car, although it is close to town the roads are too narrow to walk but cabs are easy to get if you want to go that route. When we go back to St John we will defintely stay at Starfish again."
