  • Truly Incredible Property! Relaxing & Fully Private! Exactly what we needed in a vacation!

"Wow! The pictures online do not do this property justice. The views are absolutely stunning and you can lookout and see both the mountainside along with the ocean. This property is truly one of a kind. If you are looking for relaxation and privacy this is the place for you. From the back patio and pool you will not see another house except for on the horizon. You can lounge in the pool all day long with a fantastic breeze always blowing through. This was exactly the vacation my wife and I needed. With its old world charm from the arches, wood shutters and doors, along with the stone and shell mason wall... every aspect of this property has been thought out and done right. Everything we needed was already there. The location to Cinnamon bay was great and only about a 10 minute ride. Make sure to get a jeep as the roads are a typical island road on the way down to the beach, but provide some fun if you like your 4x4. Our host Curtis & DeSean were very professional and welcoming. To make sure we would find the house, our island host was waiting for us when we got off of the ferry from St. Thomas and escorted us up to the home where he answered all our questions about St. John. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place with us and we will be back. If you are reading this and looking at this place for an upcoming vacation I guarantee you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back!"

  • Great Cottage!

"This was our third stay at Periwinkle cottage and as with previous visits, our stay was unbelievable. The cottage has all the amenities that you would want in a St. John rental. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you'd need to cook a meal and there is everything you would need for the beach (chairs, coolers, etc.). The screened in porch on the top level is great for looking out over coral bay anytime, whether it be coffee in the morning or while having dinner at night. The bedrooms on the lower level are comfortable and there is AC in one of them. Our favorite part of the villa is the pool deck, which also has a hot tub which is perfect to relax in after a day of snorkeling and beaching it. My wife especially loves the cottage feel of the villa and the amazing view of all of the sailboats in coral bay. The ride up to the villa is a little bumpy, but you get used to it after a couple times up. The ride up to the villa also goes by love city mart, which I think has the best food/drink prices on the island and is a convenient stop after spending the day exploring St John. John, the owner, is very responsive and was great to deal with in booking and planning our trip. Lastly, I've done a lot of research of villas on St. John and Periwinkle cottage has all the amenities that you would want and is a good value compared to similar rentals. Thanks to John and his family for opening up their home to us and we can't wait to come back."

  • Best vacation ever!

"We are a family with 3 teenage girls. When I go on vacation I like to cook as many meals as possible at home and spend lots of time together without too many distractions. Sundancer gave me everything I wanted. So many people complain about how expensive the island is but we only dined out for lunch and beached it most days. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need to cook any meal and lots of the basic items were there already like toilet paper, trash bags, laundry detergent. Renting a Jeep and driving ourselves on the island seemed like huge mistake at first because the roads are challenging but we came to enjoy the adventure daily. The home, for it's remote and tropical location should of had bugs but did not. Bug spray is a must in all of St John but other bugs in the home were none existent. We had every meal on the outside dining area to watch the sun rise and set over Fish Bay. Lots of people told me to bring our own food from US and shop in St Thomas but I thought Starfish Market( 10 minutes away) was adorable and had all of our needs. The prices were higher but for a one week stay it hardly mattered. If you are big drinkers the Pueblo Market in St Thomas has crazy low prices for Rum I can't wait till we can go again! I could have stayed for 2 weeks"

  • Great vacation!

"We just returned from 10 days at watermelon villa. We had a great time in beautiful St. John! This was our 2nd time in St. John, but 1st time at wv. The villa had everything we needed, including ample space and privacy for our group. We had two couples and my mother in law traveling with us and everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked and we made breakfast their each morning before setting out to a different beautiful beach. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the huge screened in porch with amazing views when we weren't at the beach or touring the Island. The villa itself is well maintained. The place we stayed last year had ants on the counter everyday, but I only saw ants once at WV and that's because we left food out. After a wipe down with vinegar, we never saw another ant. It was great having Wi-Fi at the villa to keep in touch with family at home. You will need a car if you stay here and I recommend 4 wheel drive as the road and driveway are pretty steep, but you do get used to it. I highly recommend wv!"
