"Blue Sky is a wonderful home base for your trip to the Virgin Islands. It sits on Ridge Road, overlooking Vessup Bay off the back porch with views of the Caribbean out the front door and across the street. The neighborhood is quiet, with only the occasional traffic passing on the way to or from the Secret Harbor beach and resort just down the hill. While the drive back downtown is quick, you will also be minutes away from the Red Hook ferry terminal and easy access to many other islands.
You will find the house clean, secure, and well equipped. With a full kitchen (including a nicely stocked spice pantry) and a grocery store just minutes away, you do not need to rely on restaurant food if you do not want to. There are appropriate security features but the area is so safe and quiet that they must simply be there almost exclusively for deterrence.
Joanie was 100% honest and cordial in her dealings. She was helpful and available without being intrusive, and she gave generously of her local knowledge. She even provided us an excellent reference for a babysitter.
Rent Blue Sky with confidence.
If you can take your eyes off the harbor, spend some time studying the trees below the back porch. You might just find an iguana or two soaking up some sun.
Ludy's Place is a food truck that is parked to the left of the Food Center parking lot as you look at it from the road. The ladies there serve up delicious food at a reasonable price. It was so good we ate there twice.
Check the cruise ship schedules online. While we were there, Saturday was a no-cruise-ship day so we ventured downtown to walk around. We stumbled onto a great open-air market and got to enjoy a small taste of callaloo while listening to one of the great Caribbean sounds: Men playing dominos and arguing about it. I rarely feel so happily far from home."

"Our Condo at Crystal Cove was really great. Nice and clean. Very spacious and well furnished. Had plenty of kitchen supplies. Great location, easy access to beach. A walk up the driveway led to access for the Safari Buses. Easy access on the Safari to downtown shops and restaurants. Short ride to catch Ferry to St. John. They have a patio out back with chair and bar-b-que grill. Nice King size bed and two bathrooms. It was a great vacation, looking forward to going back next year."

"It was gorgeous weather all week until departure day and we loved the beautiful water and breezes! My favorite day was grilled fish lunch at the Lime Inn, snorkeling at the far right end of Cinnamon Bay and dinner in Cruz Bay with the sunset. The ferry ride to St John was very easy and fun. We shopped at Pink Papaya (right beside the Lime Inn) and had some homemade ice cream at Mongoose Junction on St. John. The boys took several dive lessons - one at Coki and one in Red Hook - and we went out on a boat with the Red Hook group. We saw a sting ray and sea turtle and lots of beautiful fish while snorkling!! We had some nice meals - the Caribbean fish market and Pesce's were both excellent. We swam with the sea lions at Coral World which was very fun and went for a night kayak from the Marriott. We were thankful to be at the quiet Elysian instead of a big complex like the Marriott! We had everything that we needed and lots of space. Everyone at the Elysian was very nice and helpful! It was a great base to explore from. We enjoyed relaxing with our coffee or wine on the balcony and the view. We snorkeled at our beach and swam in the pool for a break. The kids loved the pizza at Sangrias. We know that we will have to come back again because there was so much more for us to see and do! Thank you for all of your help with planning and for explaining everything so clearly!"

"This villa was perfect for our needs as we enjoyed all that St Thomas had to offer. The kitchen has every pot, pan, and utensil you could ever need. The queen size bed was very comfortable for the two of us. The living room was surprising large with the couch, coffee table and a couple chairs. But the best part was the view. It was spectacular! From the patio, or from inside the villa, the view of the water, islands, and sunrise was breathtaking."
