  • Perfect vacation for family of 4

"I don't even know where to start. The photos do not do it justice. We had a great vacation with our two children (ages 6 and 11) for a week while staying at Point Pleasant. The views are stunning; we woke to a gorgeous sunrise every morning. The breezes with the sliders open is perfect - we were never hot. We cooked in all evenings except one. Stop by the grocery store west of Red Hook and pick up any provisions you need. The condo is extremely well appointed: well thought out decor, more towels than you could possibly need and what a lovely surprise to find so many of the necessary condiments, etc already there! It was exactly as described. There is no outdoor grill, however, but it would have been too windy to grill anyways. You will not miss it. All of my questions leading up to the trip were quickly answered and I have already recommended this property to MANY people I know. We rented a Jeep and explored as much of the island as possible. Don't miss mermaid's chair on the far west end, it is worth the hike. Our favorite beaches were Coki (in the early AM before the cruise ship vacationers arrive) and Smith Bay / Lindquist Beach (we had this bit of paradise to ourselves for hours some mornings). Take the car ferry to St. John for a day and explore: trunk bay and maho are both our favorites as is hiking the many, many hiking trails on st john that just aren't available on st thomas. We avoided Charlotte Amalie as we really wanted a relaxed vacation but if you are going to go, check the cruise ship schedule to avoid the mobs. Happy hour at Tap & Still in Red Hook was great - the best burgers and fries on the island and insanely inexpensive. Whether you are looking for adventure or looking for a relaxed get away, this condo was perfect! I cannot wait to return!"

  • Outstanding Room!!!!

"Okay, it's only taken 6 months to post a room report, but here goes... We have visited St. Thomas every year since 1999. We have stayed at various resorts & last year decided to try Point Pleasant when we saw a video clip of room E6. The video was not deceiving. E6 was clean and a very functional room with galley kitchen, all of the glass wear, utensils, dishes, pots & pans, dining table and, sitting area. The deck had a table & 2 lounge chairs to take in the view. Our flight from Chicago was delayed and, by the time we arrived at Point Pleasant, it was dark & raining. We were not able to see much from the deck at that time, but in the morning we were treated to a gorgeous view. We were very pleased with the idea of NOT needing much air conditioning. We would set the AC timer for about 1 hr when we returned at days end. With the help of ceiling fans, we were very comfortable through the night after the AC turned off. Once watching the sunrise on our 1st day, we made it a point to wake early, open 2 of the 3 sliding glass doors and, listen to the waves crashing against the shore line a short distance below, while enjoying a wonderful cross breeze flowing through the room. We left the sliders open until we reluctantly closed them when we left the room to visit friends and explore the island. The grounds at the resort have some very steep hills, but from the room, it was a short walk down to a very small, private beach area tucked against the hillside. Just outside of the room door, walking down a few more stairs will take you to the well kept pool...very refreshing on a hot day! During our trip, the restaurant and bar just below the pool were closed as they were remodeling for the new owners to reopen shortly after we returned home. The other restaurant on the property was not open and, we are unsure if they have since reopened. We are familiar with the island and know of many restaurants where we go to eat so, this did not present a problem except for the first evening. We arrived a bit late, we were hungry and, tired. We did not feel like going back out so, we did as you would do at home...call to have a pizza delivered! No problems!!! We truly love St. Thomas & the islanders. We were thrilled with "our" room last year, so were very excited to find out it was open for rental again this year! We are now counting down the days until we return to the island and, yes, staying at Point Pleasant in room E6!!!"

  • Felt At Home

"My husband and I visited St Thomas for the first time to celebrate his 40th. The unit was ideally located to visit the most popular beaches on the island and was a short drive to St John Ferry to see the national park. The security on the premises was much appreciated since they handled a little situation between us and another tourist who hit our parked car. They took very good care of us. I appreciated very much the unit's art, location, comfort and cleanliness. It was so very quiet and serene. We ate at Panga's which is just down a few set of stairs and enjoyed the views. Also Redhook spots were so easily accessible. Perhaps we can return again."
