  • Amazing Location, Condo, & Beach

"We stayed here and its a great location. Away from the madness. The beach is nice bit rocky but walk hundred yards to the left and you get white sand. The condo itself is a bit dark but you walk out onto the beach. It is modern and trendy. Redhook is a short drive but parking is tough. Cons: Shower leaks water into the main areas. Toilet is in the worse location. Bit musty, needs a good airing. no chairs at night on the beach as they are put away daily. Water supply outside to wash the sand off your feet would be nice. Pros: Location, Bed is comfy, beach is great. Owner is reponsive."

  • A Jewel: the island and the property

"We have sojourned three different winters here at Sapphire Beach West (SBW) and have dealt with the same family/owners. Tom B. is the most efficient, helpful, knowledgeable, affable and dependable and owner/renter we have ever had the pleasure of renting from in all of our years of travel and using VRBO rentals. This association has been the fundamental reason we have kept returning. This is not to diminish one bit the perfection of the location and place out here at (SBW). We feel that the beautiful views seen from and around SBW, the quietness of the place, the maintenance of the picturesque grounds and the properties, themselves make SBW exceptional. We've driven all over the island and in our view, do not think there is a better choice available for a stay of a week or more. Charlotte Amalie is easily reachable and though traffic can be often tied up, it's never for long and there are always sights to enjoy (truly) while you wait to start moving again. Only once have we ever witnessed any road-warrior rage and that was two locals upset with the driving of another local in town. Traffic moves slowly but with everyone sharing and giving way at intersections and at parking lots and traffic lights the "island" pace is, dare I say, enjoyable. I love the use of American cars with the steering on the left which puts one's edge-of-the-road right there giving the opposing traffic as much room as the roads allow. We have, in our visits, found a delightful coffee shop/internet café outside of which to while away an hour or more reading in the coolness of the porch's shading tropical trees. Though close to the cruise ship madness of Havenside, those tourists seem almost unaware of this perfect spot to relax. The place? Don't overlook The Barefoot Buddha when you're in town and looking for great coffee flavors, fresh baked goods, relative quiet and coolness during the tropical day. And, too, Tom has yet to include the Frenchtown Rock among his recommended dining places. It's new, great selection of authentic Jamaican/Caribbean dishes. Just one block north of the Dronningens Gade main drag, at Bakery Square. They close at 6 PM. We highly recommend the place for an early dinner where we ate twice this year. So much to say-all positive, about the island but most of all Tom's two places here at SBW especially for the 55+."

  • You won't reget staying here!

"This was our first time visiting the USVI, and having this condo made this a wonderful experience. The condo is equiped with food prep equipment all the way to beach equipment. Great views out front window, and even out back window you can see the hills. The condo was clean with lots of room, and even 2 full baths! Nancy sent an envelope containing alot of info about the area, not only for sightseeing, but also stores to buy food, taxi service, and directions to places."

  • Fabulous Vacation!!

"Returned from our wonderful vacation at Crystal Cove wanting to stay longer. We escaped the awful Boston winter to a paradise of warm breezes and beautiful beach. My second time at this unit and already making plans for next year!! The condo was very comfortable for our family. The two full bathrooms are a real plus. We enjoyed the convenience to Red Hook with all the restaurants and the ferry to St. John. Next year we plan on eating in more and enjoying the beach and the other amenities of the property. We loved the beach with both shade for those of us that need it and sun! The snorkeling at Sapphire beach was fantastic! The owner is very helpful and the on site staff were very accommodating. We definitely plan on returning next year!!"
