"Using the descriptors: 1. Listing was accurate and showed us in detail the location and amenities 2. Pix were accurate. A bit difficult to really view but that is nature of these type of set ups. 3. House was clean, well appointed for our use and provided an attractive place to stay and use for our base of travel. I wish the roads were in better shape but glad that it was not my personal car that I was using. 4. Owner, agent and next door handyman were extremely helpful. My agent acted as go-between and I received all the info I needed and within a short period of time. 5. Definitely would recommend and have already done so. 6. Tree Limin Extreme, Virgin Island Ecotour, Kokopelli Cafe (lunch only), Pesce restaurant in Red Hook, Mongoose Junction in Cruz Bay to shop for inexpensive souvenirs and lunch, Honeymoom Beach and Cinnamon Bay on St John, Charlotte Amalie to walk and meet other tourists and a lot more that I can't remember since there was so much to see and do."

  • Mostly Wonderful, Some Not-so-wonderful

"I've been trying to think about how to review this condo, and I think a list of pros and cons might be easiest: Pros: The view - amazing. From the back veranda, you could see some gorgeous water, as well as St. John (if you walked a few feet down the beach). The beach - quiet and beautiful; at times, it felt like we had the entire beach to ourselves, which was cool. Very clean and maintained. The decor - very modern, updated, trendy. The cabana bar - lordy, those women could make some rum punch. I mean, one would do ya just fine. Some were working on island time, but they made up for it with that rum pour. The critters - my hubby and I really enjoyed the iguanas and little lizards and hermit crabs, as well as some cute little leopard-print ducks. We're big animal lovers, so it was neat to see some new faces. Cons: I think that the condo itself (and its furniture and fixtures) could stand a once-over and here's why: Within an hour of arriving, I found myself locked in the bathroom. My husband used the bathroom before me and said the door didn't shut completely, so it swung open mid-stream, shall we say. Well, I'm not so brilliant, so I gave the door a firm shove when I went in (I didn't know about his door experience yet) and... it stuck. I believe the pin that goes from the knob into the door frame itself jammed up or broke completely. I had to remove the doorknob from the inside with a knife and a screwdriver that the very nice maintenance man passed me under the door. We spent the remainder of our honeymoon without a bathroom doorknob. I'll just say - it sucked. Could have been much worse, but still sucked. My hubby, who weighs all of 165 lbs, was sitting in a wooden chair on the back patio area a couple nights before we left and it actually split apart and dumped him onto the ground. It looks like it's happened before because there was already a small wooden piece of the back missing. We were able to fit the pegs back together and it was intact again, although we didn't sit in it for the remainder of our trip. Bottom line, the view and beach is fantastic but I think this place really needs some routine maintenance. As it stood, with the bathroom and the chair incident, it rates a solid 'good'. I would definitely consider returning, but suggest the owners visit first and make a few improvements."

  • 2 weeks of fun and sun

"We arrived at night so the WOW factor of the gorgeous view in the morning was high! The king bed was comfortable, and the pull out queen was heaven to a 9yr old. Plenty of closet space and drawer space made unpacking a breeze. The water pressure in the shower was stronger than I had expected, and very relaxing after a long day of play. The kitchen had everything we needed and more, we had brought a cooler of food to cook some of our own meals -- saved alot of money not eating out everyday. The view from the deck was amazing, we enjoyed using the loungers and relaxing with a cold drink after a busy day. The grounds and trails were nice, and would take you to a pool or little beach where you could either relax or snorkle. The resort staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful, this made the stay even better. This was the perfect location as a home base for all the nearby attractions, I would recommend a rental car but the free shuttle works great if you don't want to explore the island. I will be booking again for next year and can't wait to make even more memories!!"

  • Outstanding house

"We came to st thomas for my son's wedding and could not have chosen a better house. Calypso realty was fantastic to work with, ensured that all of our needs were met. This was one of the best appointed houses I have ever rented, and we have rented many. It was spacious, each couple had their own space and their own air conditioner. The pool was outstanding, easily accessible for my 86 yr old mother. The kitchen was outstanding and meals were easy and there was plenty of room to work. There was more than ample seating around the pool and we found ourselves outside most of the time. For those that like adventure, the track down to the ocean offered a great workout. Having maid service midweek just added to our relaxation. Cannot wait to go back for a week of pure rest and relaxation, without the hectic preparations for a wedding"
