"We made our reservation via a mgr (Deb who partly owns one of the condos) who said that everything would be taken care of. While the Ritz Carlton Club was beautiful and worth all the hassles, I wish I would have made our reservations via VRBO. We paid Deb as soon as we found the condo and we did not have a confirmation until TWO WEEKS prior to our stay! She would not take a credit card and made us use "Pay Pal", instead of one of the 3 credit cards we had. Any way , her lack of communication skills aside the Ritz Carlton Club was perfect for our family vacation! My husband, our daughter and her husband and their 3 kids all had a great time! We even chartered a power boat and took a day trip over to St Johns! It is a family style place, not a romantic getaway. There are too many young children and teenagers even at the hotel and even when my husband and I slipped off to celebrate our anniversary, there were toddlers in the high end restaurant at 10:00 PM So, leave your elegant clothes at home and plan on relaxing with your family. Make your reservations here and not with an owner. The Ritz Carlton Club treats you like royalty. Be prepared, because the airport is a different story. You would never believe we are all American Citizens. On the flight in was fair. Returning to Florida was AWFUL!"Guest: MB&S Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: October 13, 2014View listing
"We just arrived back home from a 16 wonderful day stay at this Sapphire Beach Marina Condo. The condo and facilities were some of the best that we have had on a vacation and we have stayed all over the world - using VRBO rentals. The condo is stocked with the upscaled necessities that make a home away from home feel and the view out to the marina, ocean, and other islands is incredible. We rented a car for 6 days, but found that the Restaurant/Grill on site with good food and quality entertainment every night or short trip into Red Hook was pretty much what we found to be the best! We will go back and will stay here again!"Guest: Deborah G. Date of Stay: January 2014 Review Submitted: February 3, 2014View listing
"My family of 4 stayed in the condo for a week and we truly enjoyed our stay. The manager will contact you with the details prior to your trip. GPS does not pick up the entire address, you would need to enter Smith Bay Rd, once you're on Smith Bay, just keep going until you see the Resort sign. The resort overall is well kept and it is still work in progress. There is security staff on patrol at night. The condo itself is beautiful and you can't get enough of sitting in the balcony. Since we had 2 kids we baby proofed the condo and put many items in the closet. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is great, there is everything you need in the kitchen and the fridge is fully stocked with condiments. Wifi internet is great and the owners have put activities brochures and recommendations in a small desk. During our week stay, we only turned the AC on two nights. The other nights we kept the doors open and the trade winds keep us cool the entire time. I noticed there are no ants in the apartment at all, which is rare in the Caribbean. Housekeeping does a great job at keeping the condo clean. The small Sugar beach by the resort would do if you don't feel like driving to other beaches. It is sandy once you pass the small rocks on the edge. If you're going to cross to St John from Red Hook, I recommended taking the 9am ferry. Red Hook is only a 5 minutes drive from the property. Also you won't go wrong with any restaurant in Red Hook. Maybe for couples a car is not needed, but for families with kids, you definitely need a car. I highly recommend this condo."Guest: Salim M. "The Hideaway made my month in St. Thomas this year even more memorable. It's exactly as you see it, and what you can't see are the stars at night, the sunsets, the view from bed across the deck out to the Caribbean. And the quiet, the quiet nights (versus in town at Red Hook!). Just above Secret Harbour, good for a walk down and a swim every afternoon. Jan is a gracious hostess and will help in any way she can if you have any problems or questions. Or join her, she has a busy life, always up to something exciting, and enjoys company. She is always available of you need something. Property location is ideal, near Red Hook and the ferries to St. John and the BVI, restaurants and etc. Hated to leave. Already planning the next escape. I recommend a car on St. Thomas but actually you could do without at the Hideaway. Red Hook and Secret Harbour are close enough to be walkable even given the hills and the road widths. Just be prepared to step off into the bushes! Try the night kayaking at Marriott Frenchman's Cove (you would need a car) or new this year, at St. John Cruz Bay. Fish Tails in Red Hook always good too. Thanks again, Jan!"Guest: Barbara C.
