"We stayed here during Christmas week 2014. An escort met us at the airport at the appointed time and guided us to the villa. Peterborg is a very nice quiet area. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood and out to the Point. What a beautiful view! The villa is about 20 minutes from Red Hook. Once we got use to driving island style it wasn't bad. The roads are steep and the driveway does require a two point turn but the rental minivan got the job done.
The villa is as pictured. It was pleasant to leave the screen doors open and listen to the water. We relaxed in the hammock each day. It was fun to watch the hummingbirds and butterflies flutter in the bushes. We did not cook in the villa but the kitchen seemed to be well stocked. We did use the snorkel equipment. It was nice to not have to rent gear for the week. Having beach towels and a cooler provided were also appreciated. The sun deck was most pleasant with an unobstructed view of the Bay. The villa is stocked with a few board games, DVDs, lots of books and CDs.
As another reviewer mentioned, there is another building that is a part of the complex but not included in the rental. This unit does have a view of the rental's outdoor deck and pool area. It was empty during our stay. If renting again, I would inquire if this building would be occupied.
The owner responded to email and phone calls quickly and answered all our questions.
There are two reasons I did not rate the property five stars. The lower bedroom smelled a bit musty. There was a dehumidifier in the room but it was broken. Running the AC helped. Also, there are motion sensor lights on the lower level that did not always operate. It was difficult to navigate the steps in the dark.
Overall, this villa is a great value. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again."

"Secret Garden was the perfect girls getaway. The Villa was beautiful with a fully equipted gormet kitchen. Although there are plenty of restaurants in town, the Villa was beautiful and relaxing; we cooked meals out on the balcony using the grill and loved every minute of it. Werner was the perfect host. He had a driver meet us at the airport and although we rented a car, we followed him to the villa to make sure we had no trouble finding it. Keep in mind that driving in ST. Thomas is stressful, they drive on the left. Werner made sure we had what we needed. We spent a day over on St Johns snorkeling Cinnamon Bay, Honeymoon Bay, and Truck Bay. We took a catamaran to the British Virgin Islands where we explored the Baths and did some fantastic snorkeling. We bought at groceries at a little grocery store in Red Hook, I believe the name was Food Town. That said Werner is happy to do your shopping for you and considering the stress in driving around the island-I would suggest you take him up on that!! Werner will also make arrangements to get you anyplace you want to go! Again I would suggest you take him up on it....we drove and we survived but honestly, driving there is quite an adventure of its own! I can highly recommend Secret Garden as a perfect getaway. It was a vacation we hope to repeat, we loved every minute of it🐠🌊"

"This was the second visit to the Villa. This time we stayed in the one bedroom one bath. WE had previously stayed in the two/one bath. . . both were excellent. The Villa's are well equipped, and the location is ideal. We spent most of our trip in the private beach but also waded/swam to the famous Magens Bay. Water is crystal clear, breeze was beautiful. Never had to use the very convenient air conditioning. We've been to St Thomas many times and I don't think there is a better place to stay. We brought our own portable rafts, but there are a few noodles available for use. The only thing we missed were beach chairs if you wished to travel over to some of the other beaches. That is the only thing we would have loved and buying them in St Thomas would have been rather expensive. But you really have everything else you need. WE purchased grocery's at "Cost U Less' which we found a better value than other food marts. The kitchen had everything you'd need. Even sugar for morning coffee. Fabulous trip, easy to book, owners have a gem!"

"Decorated with warmth and subtle charm, this home away from home is the perfect retreat for anyone wanting to experience island living on St. Thomas without feeling like a fish-out-of-water tourist. HBH provides an experience unlike anything you’re likely to have: inviting comfort and relaxation nestled on a lush tropical mountainside, coupled with stunning views of serene Magen’s Bay and surrounding areas below. The sounds you will hear at night from the forest are wonderful. Prepare yourself, as it will be very difficult just to tear yourself away from the view long enough to enjoy the other amenities this airy and spacious home has to offer such as an infinity pool, a sprawling deck with grill, a full kitchen with a dining / living room / entertainment area and two cozy bedrooms (the one upstairs has its own deck with an equally stunning view).
If you do manage to get out to see the rest of St. Thomas, HBH is perfectly situated, a mere 10 – 15 minute drive to the popular locales: downtown/Charlotte Amalie and Frenchtown for site seeing, shopping and dining, Red Hook for more dining/nightlife options and catching the ferries to the neighboring islands and of course, any of the island’s splendid beaches.
High marks for the level of hospitality this home has to offer – the attention to detail (beach chairs, beach towels and robes are some those perks) is evident throughout and Robin’s personal touch as caretaker (always accessible by phone or text) will make your stay all the more enjoyable.
With a name like “High Blue Heaven”, you simply cannot deny that this property lives up to its name. It is a wonderful island treasure, hard to leave and certainly hard to forget.
