  • Great condo!

"This condo has a perfect location and is nicely furnished. It is within easy walking distance to several restaurants, a dive shop, the beach and pool. It is a short drive to the grocery store and Red Hook. We enjoyed eating on the balcony and also watching turtles and a spotted eagle ray from the balcony. It's very nice to have a washer and dryer in the condo and also to have WIFI. We have stayed in this condo several times and each time it is great to be back."

  • Fantastic Stay in the "Mango Room"

"I stayed in the Mango Room at Villa Marbella in mid September and had a fantastic time! Gunner and Leah are the best people you could ask for and the dogs are fun too. I was visiting my teenage daughter and really just need a small room that was safe and clean and the Mango room at Villa Marbella was perfect. The nightly rate was extremely reasonable and helped keep my trip affordable. The pictures of the room are exactly what you get – small but super cozy, safe, clean, everything you need. In fact we were the only people there for the last 4 days of my stay and Leah generously offered to move us to a larger room (at no charge by the way) and my daughter said no, she preferred the Mango room since it was cozier. The room has a dorm-sized fridge, microwave and a hot plate type appliance, suitable for a single pan. Pans, silverware and cups were provided as was a Keurig and coffee. We had oatmeal, cereal, and sandwiches during the day and usually grabbed something out in the evening. The pool was lovely and the grounds as well. We rented a jeep from them; which was a great decision. I arrived late in the evening and having them pick me up as a service included with car rental, was a great decision on my part. The roads are pretty steep and twisting and trying to find my way in the dark might have been tricky. Having them pick me up made it super easy. I just can’t say enough about Gunner and Leah and their staff, Jack, Lexi and Jager the dogs and the Villa Marbella experience. As one last anecdote, the day I was leaving I logged into my bank account and noticed that a local grocery store had charge me $111.00 when my bill was actually $11 (big difference!) I asked Gunner about it and he was immediately on the phone with the store owner and took care of everything securing me accredit of the $100 overcharge. It was all arranged before my plane even landed back in the US. Thank you!"

  • Living in paradise!!

"My boyfriend and I stayed at the Morningstar Villa for the month of February and loved every minute of it. The view from the deck is simply amazing--very colorful and lush. It was fun watching the boats and cruise ships sailing by as we were drinking a nice tropical drink. The villa itself is very beautiful, updated, clean and located in a great area. The kitchen has everything you need, and a washer and dryer is available, so pack light. Because we stayed for the month of February, it was like living in St. Thomas and not vacationing. We would have a leisurely morning and then drive to Havensight and park our car (at the Kmart). Everyday we walked to Charlotte Amalie to climb the 99 steps that led to Bluebeards Castle. In the end it was actually 150 steps, but at least we got some exercise. Next we would go to the beach--we love Lindquist Beach the most, but we also like Sapphire Beach and Magens Bay. We liked Brewers Bay for swimming, but it is not beautiful like the other beaches. Many times after having a relaxing day at the beach we would stop at one of the many bars that have happy hour. We really liked Duffy’s and Molly Malone’s in Red Hook. We did day trips to St. John for snorkeling at Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay is also worth going to. We took a ferry to Water Island, which was also very fun. The bar has great hamburgers!!! We normally had our meals in and found 2 great grocery stores. I think one is called The Gourmet Gallery (Havensight) and the other is Cost U Less. Cost U less is very similar to Costco, except you don’t need to be a member. The Gourmet Gallery is similar to Wholefoods. Great meat selection. I stopped frequently to make a salad from the salad bar. Kmart is also a good place to buy groceries like cereal, bread, snacks and alcohol. The Brownings put together a book of everything you need to know about St. Thomas--ferry schedules, restaurant reviews, menus, beaches, bars, charters, shopping, etc.. Make sure you read it to get greats ideas. If we ever take a trip to St. Thomas again, Morning Star Villa is the place we will stay!!! Thank you Leah and Scott!!!"

  • Absolutely Terrific! The best vactation rental experience we have ever had!

"My wife, young daughter, and I stayed at Paul's place for eight days this past May and found it to be a wonderful rental with more perks than any other available. Paul was extremely kind and helpful whenever we had any questions. As the owner of the Bolongo Bay Beach Resort across the street he grants you access to the non-motorized water sports and the resort as a whole which is lots of fun. The two restaurants, The Lobster Grill and Iggy's Beach Bar and Grill, at the resort are only steps away from the apartment and not to be missed. Don't miss Wednesday nights at Iggy's! It is carnival night with authentic Caribbean food and dancing. My wife grew up on St. Thomas and pointed out how you know it is great traditional food when the locals come for dinner! The apartment is wonderful and very private, we didn't see another person walk by the deck the whole time we were there. The air conditioning cools things down quickly for a great night's sleep. The kitchen is stocked with anything you will need if your self-sufficient and want to cook some of your own meals including pots, pans, Tupperware, spatulas, colanders, etc. If you have ever wished you had a cool uncle who owned a tropical beach resort and also let you stay at his place then this is your opportunity to see what it is like. Everyone treats you very well and is exceptionally helpful with any questions or requests you have. We will certainly be back to catch up with Paul and our new Bolongo family! Thanks again for everything!"
