  • Perfect Romantic Getaway!

"I just returned from a week at Andrew's condo with my girlfriend and have to say, wow.. this is easily one of the most memorable places I've ever been! First off, the location is amazing. The property is walking distance to three good restaurants, one of which (Mim's) was recommended to me by several locals as the best seafood on the island. Iggy's has live music nightly, great atmosphere, and just a great overall vibe.. Next door, the Bolongo Bay Resort has a full suite of watersport rentals, and tons to do: a sunset-cruise sailboat charter, hobie-cat rentals, full-service PADI dive shop, snorkel rentals, etc--all within walking distance. We snorkeled right off the beach in Bolongo Bay almost every day, and really enjoyed this area.. nearby is the town of Red Hook where we took the ferry to St John, and found some of the prettiest beaches I've ever seen. The condo itself is very well appointed, comfortable, and very clean. The kitchen has all amenities, and we felt right at home. Andrew keeps this property up-to-date, and all the conveniences make you feel comfortable right away. The balcony and view of the beach/bay is probably my favorite feature, and where we found ourselves spending most of our time.. My girlfriend could not get over listening to the waves that crash on the beach literally a stones throw away, and we both enjoyed the constant tradewinds.. the warm breeze off the ocean that you really miss when you get back stateside - and one of the many things that makes this island getaway truly memorable!"

  • Superb villa with an excellent view

"Unfortunately we lost a day due to weather over Florida. We loved the house and the pool. The roads are a bit scary as is true for St. Thomas as a whole. Lots of birds. We saw an iguana in front of the house! We would definitely recommend this location!!"

  • Pinch me...Is this place real?!

"I am known for my critical eye and the fact that I'm typically not easy to please, but nothing about this place will disappoint! I am here to tell you that Casa Blanca II is a dream come true. This amazing home and impeccable setting provided one of the most memorable vacations I have ever had. The islanders will tell you to try the popular drink called 'Painkiller', so be sure to stop at the Gourmet Gallery in Havensight marina and pick up the ingredients so you can whip one up when you arrive at this dream house and offer a toast to the best choice house in paradise!!"

  • Paradise

"This condo is amazing for the price! We just arrived a day ago and it has been nothing but fabulous! The food at iggies was great, sitting by the ocean at night listening music what a vacation! But a rental car is a must we got ours for $56 a day beats the $80 we spent yesterday just to get here and go to the grocery store! Food is expensive at the grocery store as well so I would say eat at home and eat out It would probably come out the same seeing you won't eat a big bulk of food if your here for a week. Cindy was helpful providing all the information to make a trip amazing and took time to call and give me all the info when booking the rental! The view is amazing it's pretty quiet and we are really enjoying it! We will most definitely will return!!!"

South Side Travel Tips

The Advantages of Staying at South Side St. Thomas Vacation Rentals

St. Thomas is a beautiful island in the Caribbean which is particularly popular as a cruise ship port destination. The capital of St. Thomas and also the U.S. Virgin Islands is Charlotte Amalie; it is well known for its unrivalled shopping, particularly for jewelry and precious stones.

St. Thomas has some of the most beautiful white sand beaches around its shores and the calm clear waters at Magens Bay are considered some of the best in the world for scuba diving.

Renting a vacation home at South Side St. Thomas often appeals to those who are enjoying a family vacation. With a relaxed lifestyle, it can be easier for those with children to stay independently rather than in a hotel. Vacation rentals have as many bedrooms and bathrooms as you require, making it easy for everyone to enjoy their own private space.

Vacation homes often have their own private swimming pool, sun terrace and gardens which are ideal for sitting out and enjoying breakfast before heading for the beach. An afternoon siesta for little ones is a great idea and much easier in a vacation rental home than in a resort.

Those looking for a romantic vacation or quiet honeymoon will also enjoy the privacy that a private villa affords. Comfortable, well located and fully equipped, vacation rentals are often the best way to enjoy your stay on St Thomas.

Things to do Around South Side St. Thomas Resort Rentals

Although most people think shopping in Charlotte Amalie or spending time on the beach are all that St. Thomas has to offer, there are a host of things to do for those who like to combine a little adventure with their travels.

There are beautiful panoramas from Drake’s Seat, Blackbeard’s Castle, the Tramway and other beauty spots around St Thomas. Charlotte Amalie has some interesting Colonial architecture, several museums and a large aquarium. The Seven Arches historic home is a pleasant attraction on Government Hill which incidentally you can climb up. The steps are known as 99 steps but if you count, you will find there are actually 103!

Getting to the Beautiful South Side St. Thomas Villas

The main airport serving St. Thomas is the Cyril E. King Airport to the west of Charlotte Amalie. It is very easy to get a taxi from the airport to your South Side vacation rental.

Direct flights are available from New York City and take three hours and 45 minutes while Miami has a shorter flight of just two hours and 30 minutes. Connecting flights via San Juan, Puerto Rico are available but they are generally more expensive.

American Airlines, Delta, Cape Air, United and Continental Airlines all fly direct to the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Places to Visit Around St Thomas

A day in the busy capital city, Charlotte Amalie, is a must during your vacation. The red-roofed, whitewashed houses make a charming sight. As well as excellent shopping, the town has many historic sights. Fort Christian is an interesting 17th-century building which was constructed by the Danes. Indeed much of the island’s cultural past is reflected in its architecture with Spanish patios, Dutch-style doors, Danish red-tile roofs and French wrought iron grills.

A pleasant escape from the busy resorts on St. Thomas is available just a ferry-ride away on St. John which is a far more laid-back and uncommercial island. Take a taxi tour around the island or relax on Trunk Bay Beach.

Honeymoon Beach is a palm-shaded area offering excellent snorkeling, swimming, waterskiing and other beach activities. Take the ferry from Crown Bay Marina across to Water Island and enjoy a perfect day on the beach.

The Weather in St. Thomas, USVI

The island of St. Thomas enjoys almost perpetual summer weather all year-round. Temperatures remain fairly consistent throughout the year with July and August usually reaching the mid-80s F while December and January may be in the mid-70s F. Even the seas are a balmy 79 to 83 F! The rainy season tends to run from August to November when short but heavy downpours may be experienced.
