  • Relaxing vacation

"My family (2 adults, 2 children) stayed here for 5 days and had the best time! The condo is oceanfront with a huge balcony and the view is AMAZING!!! There was plenty of room for the 4 of us and the condo was very nice and clean! My children spent most of their time swimming in the pool, which we had to ourselves 80 percent of the time! My husband and daughter rented snorkel gear next door and snorkeled all around the bay! I could sit on the balcony and watch them! The condo is in the perfect location! It's on the top floor and the view is gorgeous! The property is quiet, safe and relaxing! We ate at Iggies beach bar (located next door / 2 minute walk on the beach) and at Mims (located right next to the pool)! Iggies had a band several evenings during the week and the kids enjoyed dancing with everyone next to the beach. . We could also hear the band from our balcony, which was nice (you could not hear it inside, so it did not bother our sleeping kiddos)! They offer beach volleyball, bean bag toss and a few other games. We did not rent a car for the first 2 days and only needed one to get groceries and visit some of the other beaches on the island. Our vacation was fabulous and we cannot wait to visit again!"

  • Calendar not up to date

"Giving this 5 stars because I hope that is what I could have given it, but calendar had not been updated. Even though it shows available, upon requesting a rental; I was told that the villa was not being rented during September, due to repairs."

  • Great stay!

"We had a great stay! The condo had everything you could ask for including beach toys, all kitchen appliances, infant pack and play, ice cold ACs and it was very clean! We love that it was right on the beach and within walking distance to Iggy's which had great nightly entertainment. The location is ideal and within a short drive to beaches, Downtown and Red Hook. Karen ( the unit manager) is also great to work with! We give it a four stars because Wifi never worked (I think the account is not activated and this would be an easy fix). I was able to use Internet on my phone through Sprint but there was someone in our group who had Verizon and would have appreciated the Wifi. Also, a few minor upgrades in the condo with screen doors would be ideal and definitely a replacement of the bunk beds which have done their time! You really cannot go wrong by renting this condo-- you will be very pleased! We had a great stay!"

  • Seascape

"This was a very fun little cottage. The pictures don't do it justice. The beach is very private and is pretty good size. That is a huge plus. It is a nice cottage with adequate space and good size bedrooms. The decks are wonderful. It was nice to watch the cruise ships both during the day and during the night when they are all lit up. We used the cottage as a home base and visited many of the popular beaches on St. Thomas and St. John. It is also close to the shopping. But Lime Tree Beach is a great beach to hang out at all day. The only thing I wish I knew about earlier was the roosters which start crowing around 6. This was not an issue for me as I enjoy getting up early. However it would be an adjustment for people that like to sleep in. My teenagers adapted pretty well. We just went to bed a little earlier. Overall Seascape was a super find and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again."

South Side Travel Tips

The Advantages of Staying at South Side St. Thomas Vacation Rentals

St. Thomas is a beautiful island in the Caribbean which is particularly popular as a cruise ship port destination. The capital of St. Thomas and also the U.S. Virgin Islands is Charlotte Amalie; it is well known for its unrivalled shopping, particularly for jewelry and precious stones.

St. Thomas has some of the most beautiful white sand beaches around its shores and the calm clear waters at Magens Bay are considered some of the best in the world for scuba diving.

Renting a vacation home at South Side St. Thomas often appeals to those who are enjoying a family vacation. With a relaxed lifestyle, it can be easier for those with children to stay independently rather than in a hotel. Vacation rentals have as many bedrooms and bathrooms as you require, making it easy for everyone to enjoy their own private space.

Vacation homes often have their own private swimming pool, sun terrace and gardens which are ideal for sitting out and enjoying breakfast before heading for the beach. An afternoon siesta for little ones is a great idea and much easier in a vacation rental home than in a resort.

Those looking for a romantic vacation or quiet honeymoon will also enjoy the privacy that a private villa affords. Comfortable, well located and fully equipped, vacation rentals are often the best way to enjoy your stay on St Thomas.

Things to do Around South Side St. Thomas Resort Rentals

Although most people think shopping in Charlotte Amalie or spending time on the beach are all that St. Thomas has to offer, there are a host of things to do for those who like to combine a little adventure with their travels.

There are beautiful panoramas from Drake’s Seat, Blackbeard’s Castle, the Tramway and other beauty spots around St Thomas. Charlotte Amalie has some interesting Colonial architecture, several museums and a large aquarium. The Seven Arches historic home is a pleasant attraction on Government Hill which incidentally you can climb up. The steps are known as 99 steps but if you count, you will find there are actually 103!

Getting to the Beautiful South Side St. Thomas Villas

The main airport serving St. Thomas is the Cyril E. King Airport to the west of Charlotte Amalie. It is very easy to get a taxi from the airport to your South Side vacation rental.

Direct flights are available from New York City and take three hours and 45 minutes while Miami has a shorter flight of just two hours and 30 minutes. Connecting flights via San Juan, Puerto Rico are available but they are generally more expensive.

American Airlines, Delta, Cape Air, United and Continental Airlines all fly direct to the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Places to Visit Around St Thomas

A day in the busy capital city, Charlotte Amalie, is a must during your vacation. The red-roofed, whitewashed houses make a charming sight. As well as excellent shopping, the town has many historic sights. Fort Christian is an interesting 17th-century building which was constructed by the Danes. Indeed much of the island’s cultural past is reflected in its architecture with Spanish patios, Dutch-style doors, Danish red-tile roofs and French wrought iron grills.

A pleasant escape from the busy resorts on St. Thomas is available just a ferry-ride away on St. John which is a far more laid-back and uncommercial island. Take a taxi tour around the island or relax on Trunk Bay Beach.

Honeymoon Beach is a palm-shaded area offering excellent snorkeling, swimming, waterskiing and other beach activities. Take the ferry from Crown Bay Marina across to Water Island and enjoy a perfect day on the beach.

The Weather in St. Thomas, USVI

The island of St. Thomas enjoys almost perpetual summer weather all year-round. Temperatures remain fairly consistent throughout the year with July and August usually reaching the mid-80s F while December and January may be in the mid-70s F. Even the seas are a balmy 79 to 83 F!
